Appointment first thing tomorrow for an HBa1c check. I won't get the result because the blood sample will be taken to the lab for testing but I hope I will be able to find out the result in a week or so from the diabetes clinic.
My goodness. No pressure then. This could escalate into a brand new business and involve the designing of tins to sell to tourists coming off cruise ships.DIL came in on her way home from work at a nearby primary school bearing a bag of flour, a bag of caster sugar and a pack of butter. There had been a discussion in theclassroomstaff room about which manufacturer made the best shortbread and DIL said, "Until you've eaten my MIL's shortbread, you haven't tasted shortbread." So, of course, they wanted to taste it. Hence the ingredients. That's my job for tomorrow. There's the best part of a lemon drizzle cake left from today's visitors so that will have to go down to their house as well. Maybe she'll take that to school as well. Or maybe it will be kept for the family.
Edit: wrong room
Looks a bit less like a rocket now, but still trying to reach the sky, which was the idea of church towers in the first place.Good morning everyone on what is promised to be an overcast day here in the dark and dangerous north. Gutters all cleaned - I am responsible for the foot on the bottom rung and holding up the bucket to catch the debris. We live in a bungalow so we only need a FIFA approved adjustable Sepp Blatter. Art bit - detailing added, didn’t take too long. Hope your mid week is as good as it can be. I need koffy.

Yes, hopefully it won't take too long for them to drop into the 5s and 6sthe combined stress on the body is almost certainly responsible for those numbers.
That is such brilliant advice @gennepher. I read your post yesterday and tried it out. It really does work and actually doesn't make the day longer.I wanted to respond to this but couldn't think how to verbalise a reply.
However, I have been doing my morning painting (in digital pastels) while chilling out and relaxing, watching the birds, the magpie, and a trail of stray cats queuing to come and eat Midnight's breakfast in my bedroom he has left so they can eat in peace without the magpie mithering them outside. Midnight is on my lap also giving himself his morning thorough groom. And thinking about you @Krystyna23040
Then I remembered.
Now, I could say factor in more relaxing breaks into your working day, but that makes your day too long, so that is counterproductive.
As I said a moment ago, I remembered.
I do it all the time, so I don't think of it as advice to give someone.
You drive to your venues. This is advice someone gave me years ago, when I said I was shattered when arriving at my work place, and I would leap out of the car and unload. They told me to sit in my car and chill out a few moments. Then this person also said, once you have unloaded and before you set up your stall, put your feet up with a cuppa and take 5 minutes. So I am chilling out while all the other stall holders are rushing around to get set up in time, and making fun of me chilling out like I had all the time in the world. Then I calmly get up and work setting up the stall in record time but without trying. And I'm ready before any one else.
So, when you get to your destination and are parked, you don't get out of the car straight away. You sit there quietly for a few minutes. Possibly you could listen to music or your favourite track. Then when your body has wound down from the hectic road conditions (you do drive on busy A Roads) and you can feel yourself relaxing and chilling out, then get out of your car to unlock that hall or whatever. This will make a difference. It does to me. Where I park is where I am usually shopping, so I have a tendency for my relaxation in those few minutes is to people watch. I always carry a pen and blank postcards, and I might do some quick scribbles of people and how they stand etc.
You do the same when you arrive back home. That might seem strange, and Mr K might think you have lost it! But take those few minutes again, engine off of course, listen to a piece of music, a radio show, look at your garden. Just a few minutes, or put your hands up palming them over your eyes and enjoy that wee relaxation. Do this instead of leaping out of your car (in a rush as we all do) the moment you arrive at your destination, whether it is work or back home.
I think it is worth a try.

You second name is not Stone is it Ann?Well, I have been well punctured in the attempt to get enough blood out of my veins for the requested blood test. When I arrived at the unit, the nurse greeted me with "Oh - it's you. It took 8 attempts to get a tiny dribble of blood last time, didn't it?" I am notorious both at the hospital and at our GP practice and nobody wants to try to do the job.
She tried, though - and failed, so after 3 attempts, she gave up and asked another nurse to try. He was very confident when he started, but soon realised why the other nurses there were unwilling to try. However, after several more attempts he found a vein that gave a little dribble of blood and had to make do with that. I am now decorated with little plasters covering all the bruised attempts.
I always feel so embarrassed by my inability to produce blood as required. I know there's nothing I can do about it (I do drink plenty, don't take diuretics or other blood pressure pills, keep my hands and arms warm but it doesn't really make a lot of difference) but I still feel sorry for people who are normally fairly good at their job who just can't do anything about my veins and feel embarrassed, so I spend my time apologising.
My daughter has a similar problem. She was told she has "wiggly veins That are not easy to find "I always feel so embarrassed by my inability to produce blood as required. They've never been called wiggly. It seems, though, that they have a mind of their own. They see someone approaching with a needle and they shrink away into hiding. Actually, it seems as though they go off in a direction that medics don't expect, so maybe they are wiggly after all.My daughter has a similar problem. Maybe you are the same ?
I guess it ought to be.You second name is not Stone is it Ann?

This morning, there were two magpies in my garden very early. Mr Magpie came in first then left. And a short while later Mr Magpie came in with a smaller magpie which I'm currently assuming is Mrs Magpie. Unless it was a young magpie that Mr Magpie is showing all the food sources too. But I couldn't really tell.
There were peanuts out on the bird table which is what they both eat. Neither of them tackled the swing because Midnight was on guard with the cat biscuits...
It is only 6:00 a.m. as I am writing this. And I have not put wet food out by the swing yet because those stray cats don't usually turn up till about 9:00 a.m. so no wet food for the magpies. However an hour ago I did put wet food by the kitchen door which usually Amy and Merlin come for, so I am hoping the magpies have not discovered that food source this morning. I will know if they've taken Amy and Merlin's food because the tinfoil dishes will be strewn all over the place.
I moved over to tinfoil dishes because the fox was doing a number one and a number two in the cat dishes when I was feeding them, and it was impossible to clean and sterilise etc. It is for hygiene reasons and I put a fresh tinfoil dish out every day or dishes. Hopefully it reduces animals passing on infections to each other.
Just had a 30 minute Power Nap with a steam eye mask on. My eyes do get tired using these screens. But it wasn't a good dream because my car got stolen while I was rescuing some sweet little kittens..
I hope neither is an omen...although I do have an extra black 'stray ?' cat.
There should be plenty of luck with all these black cats!
It is now 8 am
It is taking me longer than I thought to finish video and do my morning digital painting.
Two magpies again. Just googled. The smaller one is a little 'un. It has a black beak. Obviously dad is training it how to source food (and other stuff) from humans. I fully expect the afternoon training session of the little 'un to be done at the open top windows (of the people out at work) over the road. Should be interesting.

Cats & Fox & Badger
Black cat Midnight gets very cross with this badger, whom I call KissyKissy, because he keeps going for nose to nose contact with cat Midnight. Midnight keeps spitting and snarling at KissyKissy, then finally Midnight loses all patience and slams the badger, KissyKissy hard on the nose...
Creative is a digital painting
My raspberry bush flower. Will soon be eating these...
Sun has finally come out, so, all tablets etc downed and I am out there..
Have your best day.
It is now 8:30 am
I was awake at 4 am
I reckon it is lunch time for me ?
