What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning everyone

On waking at c. 6.30, I've recorded a FBG from 4.7 to 4.9 mmol/l for the last month or so.
Following a restless night, this morning's FBG was raised slightly at 5.2 mmol/l

What a difference a day makes! - Managed more than my 10,000 steps yesterday, easy!, as I decided to go to Newcastle. I've never been to Newcastle for years even though its only a metro ride away. Its always feels just "too big for me". I spent most of the day wondering about trying to get my bearings as everything has changed so much since I last visited. Still it was a nice? change and my visit certainly helped my glucose levels. FBG 5.2 this morning plus I have now got a concessionary metro travel pass so I can go there any time I want (after 09:30) I just need a bank loan to afford some of the hiked up prices.

And before lunch yesterday it was 5.3 !!!! Hope it's not a fleeting visit. That Christmas cake will be mouthwatering @PenguinMum!!! Wish me luck, got my A1c blood test today. You are not alone, I baked a "Bero" fruit cake the week before the coronation but decided it was too "young" to divvy out at party time. Its now happily maturing for a future occasion. I do have a big birthday coming up soon but I wouldn't eat it, my OH is trying to diet and my "local" son and family don't like fruit cake! I think it may be looking for a new home.soon. Perhaps I can donate it to my lovely lunch club family.

Bloods this morning were 6.0.
