What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Here I have a bit of a dilemma.
Trying Libre. This morning it read 9.3!! A quick check with two different meters and strips from different batches gave 6.1 and 6.0.
Throughout the day Libre showed 8s, meters 5s. Also ketostix showing nicely into ketosis. Binned Libre, as it was hurting arm and getting in the way.Never again. Going to stick to finger stabbing. With a bit of sulking thrown in for good measure.
I had the same and gave up finger 5s 6s and Libre 15s 10s off the scale. Drove me nuts with a sore arm and really down thinking I was a failure. Just not for me.

Morning All. Very pleased with a 6.6 but no reason whatsoever, nothing different to any other day. @Pipp I find the Libre useful for trends and always wear one when on holiday (when available food might be unknown) , am currently on the last day of one. This one has generally measured lower than finger pricks whereas previous ones were higher. I agree wouldn’t rely on it all the time. It has never hurt on my outside upper arm. Have a great day everyone.

Morning all, fbg 6.8 and bed was 6.0 . Did a treadmill run yesterday and 1hr post had a 4.1 so something is working just my fasting that's annoying. Enjoy your day folks
So does your BG go down after exercise? Mine actually goes up, sometimes as much as a meal spike, and stays up for some time. 4.1 is enviable at any time, I have yet to achieve that even fasting.

We are all different if my BG goes under mid 4's I feel really ill ...so for me around the 5 mark is a happy number .... not that I have had one recently .Also about an hr after exercise ie a long walk my BG drops .

FBG 5.9 this morning - Definitely still a work in progress.

So I had a Dr Atkins low carb protein bar for lunch, supposedly 2.7 gms of digestible carbs - bloods were 5.4 before lunch - it was a new food to me so thought I would test after an hour, forgot and just tested now after 2 hours - bloods 7.7!! dread to think what they would have been after an hour. I guess its no more Dr Atkins bars for me.
A couple of places we go to lunch with our seniors group I have had a talk with the staff to have a meal for me. I am vegan and eat low carb so usually they will do a nice salad or vegetables for me.
When I cook lunch for my 20 lunch club clients I have tried to encourage them to tell me what they like or don't like. For example, I have someone who doesn't like chicken but does happily with a vegetarian meal or salmon that day. We have another couple of people who don't eat pork so I will do a substitute for that as well. So long as I know in advance that they are attending I am happy to prepare something else. Probably the only person I don't accommodate is a guy who is diabetic and whilst I have offered to cook low carb for him, when I went to the effort to do that, he ate the low carb option, then went back for seconds to eat the carby stuff followed by a very sugary dessert. He just gets the same as everyone else now.

Yep some people you just can’t help, when they don’t bother themselves. I would be loving to eat at your restaurant.

Thank you for commenting. I don't feel I can ask because they are all volunteers and also the meal is quite cheap (£4 for 3 courses plus tea or coffee). I'm not sure they would be able to cater differently for one. Also, it's my mindset, I have to stick to low carb the rest of the day and I don't, so it's more my fault than the lunch.
I understand it can be hard. I broke out and had chips with a vegan schnitzel and salad for lunch at the club yesterday. I did make it my only meal for the day and just had some mixed nuts for a snack in the evening..
