What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I knew it was going too well - FBG 7.2 this am. Last night on the Town, meal out with work colleagues, although my menu choices were careful, there was inevitable carb creep.

Me and the Libre have said our farewells, for now. I kind of miss it already

5.3! Gotta be good. A sustained Five-a-Live :D

Just prepped my French Leg o Lamb for tomorrow. Starting with chilled Gazpacho and finishing with Mrs E‘s Summer Fruit Fridge pudding. Recovering well.

7.2 really fed up with these Len Goodmans. Does anyone find the hot weather gives higher bg readings. Its now too hot for me tbh. @ianpspurs very surprised that salad is 9.5g carbs or did I misunderstand, wouldn’t be a first. Stay cool and rehydrated all.

Snap re 7.2 this am, but I suspect nothing for a pair

I’d like to think it’s the weather to blame and maybe it does have something to do with it. Body under heat stress is going to behave differently.

Think the 9.5 carbs for the salad is for the whole bowl, it’s what I’d call a whole meal salad as opposed to a side salad or a garnish. Even a Tesco ready made ‘sweet n crunchy’ salad is 19g of carbs for the whole pack, although I’m not sure I could chomp the lot at one sitting. . Some salad ingredients are surprisingly carby.

Your FBG 7.2 isn't too shabby considering you went out to dinner the previous evening and probably enjoyed an aperitif plus the associated carb creep, as you say.

We all perspire more than we realise overnight, especially in hot weather, so the glucose in our bloodstream becomes a little more concentrated. That can disrupt the delicate balance that we work so hard to achieve, so make sure you have plenty to drink today; you can't improve on water from the tap, chilled with some ice, if liked. You can ring the changes with a slice of cucumber or aromatic garden herbs like mint.

Morning all. How you 'doin? Happy birthday @Ryhia. 4.9 here, oh well can't be changed now. So #saladgate: @PenguinMum carbs too low? I have my doubts but over 8 years bg stays flat or drops and the vast majority of the rest of Elsie's fayre is unfit for this human's consumption. Cronometer is weird as it gives the carbs in cucumber as 3 times what Waitrose do. My friend says 2 medium spring onions/scallions are essential. @Estragon great fbg - #bazball? Y'all have a good day now.
