What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hi, Derek.
glad to hear from you, mate. And getting closer to being a really old codger. I'm Defo grumpier!
I have had my **** booted about my recent hba1c levels and calling into question my resolve since my life turned upside down. It is still rough but making ground. I hope. Third round of counselling and trying to get a grip of moving forward positively. I am in keto and I've noticed some weight loss already, but my fasting so far is up and down. This morning at 10am was 8.4, over a one mmols difference but as the wife had an appointment. So when I tested , I had spent the previous hour, getting the wife and myself reasonably fit for the venture outside! I would surmise that it had an impact.
I'm hoping by my next hba1c levels test, that I have got back to near normal levels.

Hope you're (at least) coping with your numbers, and behaving yourself a lot better than I have!

It has took me a couple of weeks to post on this thread. My fasting bloods readings were so boring, always being in normal levels, and after so long, to find out I'm actually acceptance of my levels, I wasn't sure that being and posting was the right thing to do! And as usual, as the wife would say. Stoooopid!

My best wishes as always mate. Take care.
Hi Lamont,
I think as we get older we have more and more problems small and large.

I was in hospital for five nights just over two months ago with an heart attack.
The main artery to the back of heart was blocked and already a lesser vessel was carrying blood via an alternative route so it had been like that sometime. They could not stent it ,it was completely blocked.
I hope I can get walking again but it's a slow job because I get out of breath.
best wishes to you and your wife.
 Derek

7.25am FBG 4.9 that's a surprise.
French lesson this morning.
Didn't manage to pickle gherkins, but instead made black cherry clafouti. Served to our friends this morning.
Got invited to pick gooseberries so came home with about 2kg. Planned to make jam. Actually rejected my friends offer to make it for me because I wanted to do it myself. But out in the garden found the brassica were hitting the top of the insect proof netting. Two huge cauliflower and a 1 metre high cabbage. Then kale the same size. All need harvesting immediately. Gooseberries might go in the freezer, for jam later.
Blasted slugs have got at one cauliflower and a lot of the cabbage. Less to do I suppose. Made cauli rice. Cooked the cabbage with spices to accompany tonight's curry . Kale cleaned and in fridge for tomorrow. Along with about 2kg of cauli florets. Still working on soft fruit. Cherries and blackcurrants now all in the freezer.
Something has upset Kiki. Her behaviour has changed dramatically over the last few days. For weeks she has been an outdoor cat. Coming inside only to eat and sometimes to sleep.
Suddenly she is home nearly all day. Sleeping inside for hours, following us around the garden. Begging to come in after an hour outside. I think something has given her a bad scare. She has realised that she is a small animal, vulnerable. Getting some empathy for voles is too much to hope for though.

Fbg...completely forgot to take them today

Only just made it....

Wildlife video.
Ma and Pa ((KissyKissy) badger and 2 cubs (boy & girl)

KissyKissy is chittering at the cubs, and he keeps getting them by the scruff of their necks to get them to follow his instructions!!! They are very disobedient.

Creative is a kaleidoscope of sunflowers....

Good morning, I live in California near San Francisco, life is good and best wishes to all.
My daytime 8 hour fasting bg is 4.4 mmol/L.
My night time 8 hour fasting (after sleeping ) bg is 5.4 mmol/L
Welcome @Omar51. Good readings. We like San Francisco and the drive up the Pacific Coast Highway. LA - not so much.

Good morning everyone from a wonderful overcast and breezy start here in the dark and dangerous north. Are we superstitiously saying Pinch Punch and Rabbits? I aways wonder about these things and how such thoughts can effect our moods and feelings - humans are very strange. Top of the dog world but slaves to cats. Anyhow, a skip is laying idle on the drive and no matter the wishing, spells, dancing around covered in wode and pleading with The Force, the stuff that needs going into it is still awaiting real world efforts. Art bit - I was in lazy mode yesterday after walking into and then back from town. Also, I was preoccupied and forgot until late afternoon. Some days I can disappear into my art shed for hours, some days I can walk into a room and wonder what I am doing there. I once wandered round the house searching in cupboards and drawers, nooks and crannies until Mrs Miggins asked me what I was looking for. “My phone”. - “Does it look like the one in your left hand?” Koffy - I dearly need some more koffy.

Good morning all even Australian cricketers who may be lurking. Perhaps they/you could have pity on the clearly bewildered England batsmen later today. I've faced 90 mph balls from a bowling machine - reaction time is minimal and mistakes are very painful. Latest official fbg (ish) was 4.8 according to the slew of blood analysis from Thursday. Interesting comparisons with the sample taken for my practice review a week earlier. Over active transit system causing semi-fasting had a clear impact on trigs and urea (still "in range"). Slightly dehydrated with the hot, humid weather as well, despite my litres and litres of fluid, is my take. @SlimLizzy, insects and a scared Kiki notwithstanding , sounds like a veritable garden of Eden for produce. Delighted for you. @gennepher thanks for sharing the gorgeous sunflower kaleidoscope. @Krystyna23040 now you've made me wistful for "what was" with the reminder of honeysuckle but I'm also happy for you - score draw?. @dunelm I gave a funny for the phone story. Ever searched high and low for a hat you were actually wearing? Not me, my dad. Thanks for sharing that story and the art. @lindisfel slow and steady fella, takes time to recover from those events but kudos for the desire/drive. @Omar51 welcome - good numbers. I'm in LA - Little America. Around 6k US citizens in this area and some serious hardware - military and civilian. Busy day for our nearest grandchildren. Scout camp for grandson, ballet then quick change (skirt and ballet shoes off, gym leggings? on and back upstairs to gym class for his 4 y.o sister. JKP has gone to ballet as dad is taking grandson to camp (including the Long March 2023 West Suffolk re-mix) and mum is doing what vets do. Have the best possible day given whatever circumstances are prevalent.

Heavy rain. Not ideal for the 50th anniversary fête in a local town. Water cube is full.
No FBG today. Got up late, MrSlim is raring to go shopping! So only 30 mins later, minus exercises and FBG we are off.
Plan for today: Pickling. And making breadcrumbs. Cauliflower cheese. Maybe more cauliflower rice.

Went to your area on a course at Milpitas a couple of times in the 1990s it was after the Earthquake that had damaged the roads and bridges.
Travelled to Yosemite a couple of times and it was an impressive place.
Best wishes

Wildlife nighttime video
The whole badger family, mum and dad and two cubs.

This night, it looks like the badger cubs had been set the task by Pa Badger to just root around in the same spot for grubs in the ground. An hour later the normally rambunctious badger cubs were still rooting around - or had they been put in the naughty corner?

Creative is a kaleidoscope of more of my sunflowers

Have your best day...
