What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Heard that there are moves afoot to short circuit the CO2 heat gain by changing the Earth's Albedo by increasing the number of photons from the Sun in the upper atmosphere being reflected back into space.

Both States and Europe mentioned.
I would have thought this is decidedly risky.

If the world can't get together to try to reduce global warming, I can't see them getting together in order to implement such a scheme and I don't see how, like global warming, it could be done unilaterally. Definitely risky though.

And what could possibly go wrong. I guess that the albedo is lowering partly due to polar ice melting.

Thank yo @gennepher Forgot to mention will have both my grandaughters with me. Probably impatient to get home.
Think it is fretting about this trip that is the source of my recent and continuing anxiety and depression.
Hi @SlimLizzy
I did not have time to say more this morning, because I had to get out and I've only just come back.

I am the same on long journeys and I need frequent breaks and like you, there's a point where taking any more breaks does not have a positive effect.

Plan your bathroom breaks in advance, you can google to find out where you will find bathroom facilities. And have some coffee/tea whatever you would like. Just have a few minutes winding down from the busyness of the traffic. I am sure that you do all this anyway, and you don't need me reminding you.

Predictive text said you need to have sex on your bathroom breaks, and I had to delete it but I just thought I'd tell you what predictive text suggested.

Good morning all from somewhere only we (plus 6k US service personnel and families) know - I guess Vlad and Xi are clued in as well. Today it is like summer - mainly in that July is a summer month. Still, Bazball rides again, I have tea, peanut butter, salad, Guacamole and salmon amongst other rich blessings Harry Kane hasn't been sold yet so I've got a peaceful easy feeling. Two contrasting pieces from our resident artists but both wonderful so many thanks. If you are travelling have a safe journey. If you are feeling burdened by worries thoughts and prayers with you. Here, lawns were cut, a neighbour's unruly Buddleia was given a stiff talking to and an overly rampant Mallow tree was hacked up with my trusty Chinese digging hoe. Man like Ian's glutes tell the tale but I slept the sleep of the blessed. Have as good a day as possible. Lyrics Genn (lyrics versions were pants)
Thanks @ianpspurs

I've been out all day with my shaving mirror does not seem to have made much difference though maybe if we all go out with a mirror at the same time it's going to need a concerted action though.

Great song. I love the Eagles. Also love this song
(Dr Hook "Couple More Years).

For Gennepher - I don't know how to put a link into a post:

I've got a couple more years on you babe, and that's all
I've had more chances to fly, and more places to fall
And it ain't that I'm wiser, it's only that I've spent more time with my back to the wall
And I've picked up a couple more years on you babe, and that's all

I've walked a couple more roads than you babe and that's all
And I'm tired of runnin' while you're only learning to crawl
And you're heading somewhere, but I've been to somewhere and found it was nowhere at all
And I've picked up a couple more years on you babe, and that's all

Now saying goodbye girl, don't never come easy at all
But you've gotta fly 'cause you're hearing them young eagles call
And someday when you're older you'll smile at a man strong and tall
And you'll say I've got a couple more years on you babe and that's all

You'll say I've got a couple more years on you babe, and that's all
I've had more chances to fly, and more places to fall
And it ain't that I'm wiser, it's only that I've spent more time with my back to the wall
And I've picked up a couple more years on you babe, and that's all
Thank you very much @Annb for putting the words in x

I'm my last job, I travelled on matchday or the day before to the four corners and of course the middle bits and elsewhere there is a football club! One of the items we quickly adopted (being male gender) was to keep a special kind of kit, that would help be of a benefit when the driver is reluctant to stop or has missed the services. Or the traffic has come to a complete standstill or its a car park (M25)! Yes, plan, but make sure you have enough stuff you may need o or want. Our van was like a work station/ office drawer, full of stuff with what you could need! Even something as silly as a map!
Or you could use an adult nappy! Why not!

Well, the big news is rishi has stopped the boats! Two cruise ships that were to house asylum seekers couldn't find a place to berth! One in Edinburgh, and one close to me! The unions said no! Peel Holdings said no! Local councils both side of the Mersey said no!
So, the boats have returned to their owners, with the taxpayer paying for this embarrassment!
Talking of taxpayers money, Land rover have announced that is building a plant for car batteries for its cars! It is good news, but our beloved government is giving TaTa industries £500,000,000 (half a billion) to put it there in Somerset. And yes, the day before, the the election in a neighbouring seat! It offered it because Spain also wanted it! So we had to up the ante!
But we need more than one, we might have more if agreed but where is the money coming from, if we have to fork out every time a multinational company wants to put a factory somewhere.
I do remember back in the day, a Tory government gave General motors, the money to build a paint shop at a plant close by. GM at that time were the biggest multinational company in the world!
Have you noticed something a bit off, with this ?
I remember at the time that a cabinet member along with the pm, we're saying that it was Pakistani males responsible for the grooming gangs, when it was quickly dismissed as a lie! The pms wife was seen next couple of days with her father along with the Indian pm, holding a news conference. Then along with the pm wife's company and fathers still making money out of Russia being also in the news, along with another big Indian company, doing the same! Yes, TaTa! And now we have this so called investment!
Isn't this country proud of our government?

Got in garden, did a bit, watching ashes, but it wasn't that warm! It's this bloody cold/flu. I'm cold! The wind was cool and blowy, it did reach 18 degrees on my thermometer in the garden, didn't feel like it!

Funniest thing I heard on cricket today, was Michael Atherton stating that the open was in Hoylake. (True)
But on the Lancashire coast! Ha! (It is on The Wirral, Merseyside) Idiot! Nearly as funny as stopping the boats! Ha!

Watching some good arrows now!

Best wishes.

Good morning everyone from a dull start to the day here in the manic midlands. 4.8 this am, what’s going on? A nice uneventful journey down and a visit to a school fete, far too exciting to get into details. Art bit - no chance to do anything but I have some few things that I did a few weeks ago. First, some ink dribbles on rice paper. Will show final result tomorrow. Hope you all have a smashing day, hope the bins are out? Koffy, make some koffy.

Enjoy your trip @dunelm

Looking forward to tomorrow art bit...

12.9 at 1.30 am. Had to get up then, but after a cup of tea and some pills dozed off in the big chair. BG at 6.30 was 9.5. More tea. Trying hard to get myself going this morning because I have to go to town to get my legs rebandaged but I'm very dozey. Cold here this morning - autumnal. The sweaters didn't go away for long. It's a 2 layer day, maybe 3 - not sure. 2 layers at present but still feeling a bit chilly. Another cup of hot tea might fix that.

Interesting dribbling there. Enjoy your day at the fete.

7.1 this morning.

Mr K had to break into our house after the dog walk in the park. We had our hairdresser coming to cut our hair at 8am but chatted too long with a fellow dog walker in the park so I gave Mr K the key so he could dash back with Poppy as Archie is so slow.

When I got back to the house he was putting the ladders back. The key had fallen through a hole in his pocket and he had to get into the house through the upstairs bathroom window.

After our hair cuts he went back to the park and several dog walkers joined the search and luckily one found the missing key.

We are now relaxing with a coffee in the conservatory.
