What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good national bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those of a tender disposition may your day be blessed by not meeting those nasty boys that your mother said you are not to play with.

Blood sugars this morning were 7.1, it’s amazing how slight upsets of any sort to our bodies reflects in our blood sugar readings.

Me, me’s and myself are left unsupervised at the moment and the silence is deafeningly wonderful and I’m pondering what type of music to play, Ozzie Osbourne or Puccini, one or several of me’s are partial to a bit of light opera, either composer will do.

When Mrs J returns I will be forced to endure a beard trim, I say there’s nothing wrong with looking like a member of Zz Top Mrs J says otherwise and as we all know the hand that rocks ( pun intended) the cradle rules the world.

Stay safe, smile at a stranger bring goodness into their world then blow raspberries. Now I must go and drool over my music collection.
You mean like this one? This could be an appropriate tune - good subtitles Genn. Allegedly inspired by this poem Daniels remembered from childhood.

Nice try @ianpspurs.

You know I avoid politics and the evil media as much as possible. Poetry now that’s different, given a choice between esoteric poetry and calculus, calculus wins and as a departing note, what is time if etc etc

6.8 today and I agree wholeheartedly (word of the day) that moods effect BG levels.

A lot brighter for me today and I will not burden you lot again if I succumb to despondency again.
Doctors for Mrs L this savvy, may learn more about her scan.
Had my appointment and I'm pleased with the progress and even though it's not been actually confirmed, we are awaiting the start of the bathroom adjustments including a sit in shower.

Not been in garden for a couple of reasons, one the weather! It has been awful, rain, cloudy, windy and hasn't got over 15 degrees on the garden thermometer, again miserable this morning, heating is on!
So unless it warms up this evening, my grass is gonna have to wait!
Second, the local footie pitches are being ripped up due to a new artificial one going in and car park. This and the weather has disturbed a lot of insects, and the local word on the street, is that a lot of people around here, have been bitten, including myself by what I can only assume is midges, spiders, maybe even, and I have seen one, mozzies! Been scratching for a couple of days now,! Spray and antihistamines to hand!

Gotta go, have a terrific Thursday today!
My best wishes as always.

Young Rajan (good Cambridge man and knows his cricket) said 5 point penalty for interrupting, Josiah, Tilehurst. Full question to Breckland. I'm guessing you meant this but guessing what you actually mean without Mrs A J to tell you and us will never work. BTW, saying you avoid politics is a hugely political stance which you know I know you know I know. :D

My replacement Libre 2 sensor arrived today so I put it on about half an hour ago. This one is talking to the monitor so all's well. Except when I put it on, I thought there must have been some water spilled on the table (I was leaning one elbow one it) because my sleeve was wet, so I grabbed some kitchen roll and tried to dry my sleeve with it and was amazed when it picked up a whole lot of blood! I must have hit a blood vessel close to the surface because the blood was pouring down my arm. It soon stopped but that left me with blood all over me, my jumper, my tee shirt, the table, my hands and arm. Very gory. All cleaned up now and clothes in the washing but despite scrubbing I can't get all the blood out from under my fingernails. Yuk.

Hope you have stopped the little bleeder @Annb?

Doctors appointment went well with nothing untoward in the scan, so still in the dark about the rememerberitis, possibly the depressive state she finally admitted to have been in for a long time!
Another round of tests and bloods to come.

Packing made easy!
You need three of the following,
Underwear, t shirts or polos or blouses, shorts, or a mixture if female! (Socks if you wear!)
One, going out wear or buy one there, pants, sandals, shoes, coat, cardigan or jumper. Swimwear or beachwear. Hoodie!
Use the hotels towels.
Already packed, toiletries, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, shaving cream, anti persperent, shampoo and conditioner or use the hotel stuff! All toiletries can be bought in little packages.
Your meds!
A lot of what people take away is not worn and any clothes can be cleaned. Plus there are always shops!
Documents in your hand luggage whereyou keep your money valuables and if female your make up and the bottom less pit of woman's paraphernalia. Another word of the day!
What else do you need?
All in a small travel carry case!
Five minutes to pack! Ha!
Only take essentials and what you definitely will wear, not might wear or just in case!

My advice, is to practice going away as many times as you can to get the hang of it!
You will discover the amount of unused items drop after a lot of trips!
Or marry a millionaire!

For some reason, I am the same, once I smashed the end of my pointing finger and before I got the first aid kit, it had already stopped bleeding. Sometimes it's not good to stop but just think of not having to clean the blood!
Finger prick testing, just put a little pressure and that is it!
Yes. It stopped very rapidly. Cuts, nosebleeds and so on usually do stop very quickly for me. They are used to doing so - they happen very often for some reason.
With my arthritis, accidents do seem to occur more often!
More chips on the edges of my dishes, than there is in the middle! Ha!

Morning all from L.A. where summer seems to have ended early - Labor Day weekend is 10 days away. Hugs for all those affected by artificially lowered GCSE grades. Presumably the same masterstroke will be applied to inflation, waiting lists and small boats now after two run outs. Today is St Bartholomew day but he is also/better? known as Nathanael. Here's something to read.ignore or pity me for - contains a sonnet, photography, a sculpture and link between Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity so fairly multi cultural. Fbg yesterday was 5.4 via blood sample - not a disaster but much higher than trend for that process. First time 14 hrs water fasted though. Trying to become more Americanised about hydration but haven't bought a water bottle carabiner clip - yet :D @dunelm and @gennepher thanks for sharing your wonderful art. @dunelm enjoy the pub - do they serve girl dinner? @Krystyna23040 enjoy your stay at the Victoria. Mr K is in a league of his own so extrapolating from his talents, including packing, is pointless for we mortals. @lindisfel yesterday sounds very Elbow for you. I hope today is as close as possible to something similar for all here - @Annb no new toaster is a good start.
Thank you @ianpspurs. Chopped carrots and cucumber with two little tomatoes - and eaten by a small girl - was that it?

Good morning everyone on a mixed messages start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this am so will award myself a “good boy” sticker and a certificate to take home to my mum. Pub - after the refurbishment can we still call it a pub? Or is it now just another posh looking sanitised place that sells beer and a menu that is just a list of words for things that may or may not have been partly prepared in a warehouse in Slough by robots who are programmed to sing The Laughing Policeman by Charles “Jolly” Penrose with their faces cunningly resembling some maniacal orange faced impeachment photo fit designed by Suda the painting elephant from Chiang Mai. I spent my time making up stories about the staff and the other guests with an inbuilt commentary by Alan Bennett while pushing some girl food round my plate in an attempt to be in the Tic Toc groove. Art bit - well, a bit more. Have a hip hop, the hippie to the hippie the hip hip a hop, and you don't stop, a rock it to the bang bang boogie, say up jump the boogie, to the rhythm of the boogie kind of a day. Now where’s my koffy.

Fbg 7.1

Some frozen chicken (obviously I cooked it) raised my blood sugars to over 10 . And it didn't come down quickly. It did this last time, but I gave it a second chance, because it could have been something else. I didn't feel good yesterday with those higher blood sugar readings. Just felt iffy.

The fox got supper last night. All gone this morning...

Wildlife video
Badgers drinking water all through the night.
They came back time and time again to drink water, much more than these video clips.
Their usual water supply away from my garden might have been poor.
Wild animals need water.
I do have a bucket of water in the front garden as well...
1min 4secs

Creative - alas no painting today. I still feel a bit sleepy from that chicken upsetting my stomach yesterday.
So, a photo.
Borage is growing in my container vegetable garden in the back garden, and so a photo.

Have your best kind of day.

A quick nap first...
