What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.5 - Staying Alive in the 5s - Early Saturday morning.

Being a Card-Carrying Pessimist, and looking at my Data over the years, this great run of low numbers has got to end. However, there’s also some other variables I need to be aware/cognitive of:

1 - I’ve lost 2.5 stone. My favourite leather belt needs another hole drilled.

2 - My appetite has dwindled. I’m looking at quarter portions.

3 - I’m on an additional heart/blood pressure medication which “assists” my T2 condition.

4 - Thanks to the British Heart Foundation videos, I’m doing more aerobic exercise at home.

5 - I’m attending a weekly, seven week Cardiac Rehab clinic program.

6 - I gotten into the habit of delaying breakfast as far as I can

7 - I find it really difficult to chew on any processed or non processed animal fats. All or most HF from my LCHF diet is now yucky to me. My mouth feels “coated” with fat or greasy layers, even when I haven’t chewed any! Yeah, it’s nasty.

So, dear hearts of mine, that’s you lot, I’m attacking my condition on several fronts. I’m guessing that because I’m employing a multi-front attack, T2 has now, maybe, no where to hide.

Apologies for the long posting, but I felt if there’s anything in it can give others hereabouts “alternatives” to their own treatment of this condition then I it’s been valuable. Again, usual caveats remain in place, don’t change anything until you’ve been in contact and discussed this with your Diabetes consultant/nurse or GP.

Morning All. 7.5 today. @Estragon you have done so great to help yourself get over the surgery. One thing you mentioned that resonated with me is the portion sizes. I think I often put too much on my plate at suppertime. I gave up eating snacks a long time ago and got used to it. So thanks for making me think!
Happy Saturday everyone.
