What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from L.A. where it is back to school pick up and feed day. Only one passenger home as #1grandson now cycles to and from school. at least in clement weather. The forecast 30(+?)C here suits me fine but I know some aren't as comfortable with that. I'm not up for having to layer up and live like this but each to their own. @lindisfel good news on the early trip and egg stash. This is the definition of free range eggs - not quite what the name implies and the main food source is almost certainly layers pellets. @Annb I hope the cleaner turns up as you have a busy time with all that baking. Whatever your preferences for climate, food or enjoyment have the best time you can today.

6.3 this morning that's not too bad or three good but it is livable.

Feeling a little embarrassed to have to admit got the reason for hospital appointment totally wrong was for x-ray of abdomen to check on abdominal stent still having to wait for ultrasound not sure when that will be done.

If you praise your workers, they will ask for more money!
So, if a Tory said that!
No idea of what it's like in the real world!
Harks back to 'Are You Being Served '!
Down here in the gutter I found humour in this. Your mileage may vary and that's okay as well.
no mileage, as the price of petrol has for some reason gone up again. Apparently, the oil
companies need more money!
Greed!

I checked my 28 sec kerosene the other day,
I still have c.700 litres. So it will be pricey next time I get some.

The last few mornings, an hour after drinking my coffee with double cream (cream from Tesco's), my blood sugars have leapt up to the 9's (9.8 this morning). Previously it used to be not much different than the fasting blood glucose.

This is the third morning in a row, and the same tub of double cream was used. Have Tesco's added extra ingredient/ingredients into their double cream. No mention on the tub.

So, I have had my breakfast of bacon and eggs earlier than usual to bring this figure down. Most annoying. Tomorrow I will not have any cream in my coffee, and see what happens. And work from there.

It is misty outside today, a chill in the air this early even though my thermometer says 20C already. Although wall to wall blue skies and sunshine and 27/28C are promised for later. The bad bit of news for me on the weather app is that it promises rain tomorrow. I have items from the garage temporarily out all night while I am sorting the garage. I don't have energy enough to re put them in the garage each night. I have tarpaulin over it and citronella oils liberally doused on it to keep the marauding badgers off - worked so far. I had hoped for another 3 to 4 days of no rain ...scuppered my plans.

Midnight spent the night outside last night. He didn't come in once. He was guarding the cat food all night, and made sure the badgers showed no interest in the swing. So Jade and Merlin and a couple of other strays had suppers to eat...

Creative - photo of flowers or garden things the next few days. Don't have time for painting while garage sorting...
I have a couple of foxgloves still remaining....

Have a good day

A cuppa tea next.

5.6 this morning. An interesting reading. Actually it is a bit weird.

I read an article about taurine possibly helping tinnitus. Started taking it 3 days ago. Obviously much too early to tell if it will help the tinnitus but noticed blood sugars started dropping.

I thought that's a bit weird as I haven't changed anything. So have just Googled taurine and it looks like taurine may lower blood sugars.

So, these are the two scenarios:-

1. My liver and pancreas have suddenly started
working a bit better
or
2. Taurine really does lower blood sugars.

Who knows which one is the correct scenario. I definitely don't.

2.9 this morning when the Libre woke me at 2 am. Dragged myself through to the kitchen (no cough sweets left) and had a couple of those soft fruit pastilles. 7.4 an hour later.

Baking didn't go well yesterday - obviously having an off day. Banbury cakes a touch overdone, but salvageable. Baklava a total disaster - I made the syrup too thick and the resulting toffee didn't soak down through the nuts. Managed to salvage about 2/3 of the nuts and will have another go today - when I come back from getting my legs rebandaged. Made some other bits and pieces with leftr over filo pastry but the mixture that I put into them was too wet and the pastry didn't support it. They would be perfectly edible if people kept their eyes shut. Huge pile of sticky, nutty pastry to dispose of. Can't put it out for the birds - their beaks would stick together with the sticky toffee. Compost, I guess. Try making a fruit cake this afternoon.

Glad to see that something might help tinnatus - could do with that myself. What form does the taurine come in?

I bought some taurine to aid sleep ages ago. It helped @Krystyna23040
But over time I forgot about it.
Just found it.
Still in date...
Just...
Will have a go with it as regards blood sugars...

Edit: Just seen @Annb 's question.
My taurine is powdered and from Amazon
