Prayers for @ianpspurs that the drip trip is effective and the side effects not too unpleasant.
We cancelled the usual French class this morning. The other lady is ill too and I am still not right. Headache again this morning. Still as Nana would have said "Mustn't grumble" she had terrible arthritis in her hands and never mentioned it.
Small household drama last night, when the waste pipe under the sink parted company with the u-bend. Dumping a whole bowl of washing up water into the cupboard. MrSlim merely got me a mop!
He did fix it later. Kiki loved having the kick boards removed - yet another hidey hole to dust with her whiskers and more spiders to chase. Pleased to see no evidence of mouse activity, Son2 and MrSlims efforts in concreting the stable floor helped, but it's the weeks of work repointing and gap filling the walls that seems to have finally left me with a mouseproof kitchen.
 
@SlimLizzy I'm so thankful for and humbled by your, indeed anyone's, prayers and thoughts God bless you. The process is fine thank you, as much a social event as anything and I haven't experienced any side effects in my 15 months. In terms of effective we are talking about a handbrake - but level 1 as it were - not a cure but so far so good. I'm thankful this was discovered when it was purely by chance. My stenosis is a bigger problem for now and if I'm honest so is LC/Keto diet but research suggests keto helps immunotherapy.(my chemo is in tablet form) Hug for your headache and lessons being cancelled. @dunelm thanks for sharing your art, that picture and fond memories of Round the Horne: listened after Sunday lunch as a boy, one of Dad's favourites. I would say radio did more for my language skills than A Level English. Precious memories. Enjoy your own version of Super Salmon Friday my teapot is singing a siren song.

@lindisfel a long sleep in the chair when your body really needs it is making good use of the day and is definitely not wasting the day.

Its wonderful seeing the new ones emerge after years of living underneath in safety. I have had many land on my hand in the sunshine. We have ivy on the fence surrounding our secret garden and you would think we were somewhere else if it weren't for the road. I have my swing and I am out there in all weathers as its also sheltered from the elements. I don't think the neighbours like it but the garden next door is so overgrown, I don't think they have reason to moan as they are helping the wildlife too! I have had a resident robin, a fox and delinquent blackbirds nesting and eating my tomatoes but I don't care, its my bit of heaven.

@Lainie71 your garden definitely sounds heavenly. How wonderful to have a secret garden and to be able to provide a safe haven for wildlife.

3 am saw a BG of 10.9. By 7.30 it had dropped to 8.9. Had a big dose of insulin and some toast for breakfast. I'm not hopeful that it will stay under control, but I did want the toast. Silly me!

Waiting for a surveyor to come to assess our house for an air source heat pump. It should make a difference to heating bills, especially if roof mounted solar panels are any use this far north. Neil reckons it would make overall annual bills slightly lower, but won't help much in the winter. We have to get this first stage out of the way first, though. One day at a time.

Word to the wise, tubes great but if you're using a jam jar don't get caught by ulez or you might end up in the egg & flip.

Talking of food, Never had jellied eels, more a madras man...plenty in brick lane.
Chinatown for Chinese, obv..wong kei for the 'experience' 5 floors of Chinese eating says a lot.,
( I'd recommend duck noodle soup BIG bowl & the salt & pepper ribs )
& for Vietnamese, you could do a lot worse than kingsland road, dalston.

Some utter melts out there .

Had northern bikers friends looking to visit London, and realised how off they were in distances.

Made a little map with directions, reasonably fit (I know you, like myself might not be) easy enough to see houses of parliament, trip up the Thames, look at the tower of London from the river, then walk around Trafalgar Square, covent garden, theatre land, Leicester Square, and buck pal, all in one day (ignore Oxford Street ..utter hole)

Enjoy London, on a good days it's pukka, mate.

Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who believe in fairy tales and nursery rhymes, yes the cow did jump over the moon and little red riding hood was a hoody.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.9

Here in Tilehurst Towers the media are treated with a huge amount of scepticism hence the earlier comments on nursery rhymes and fairy tales, poor red riding hood gets labelled a hoody!

It is time for my afternoon nap nite night and let’s hope the bed bugs don’t make it to Reading.

Yeah, I've only been here 60 odd years, Lauren's family all Londoners going back to the armada apparently...haha

When they get together even I find it hard to understand a lot of the slang they use ..lol.

The grandad, one leg lost at a young age, barrow boy, illiterate, done time, always called it that..

But having said that , he still raised 3 boys and worked his whole life through

No easy days back then.
 
6.8 this headache for fourth day running wet miserable morning.
It must have rained cats and dogs and sheep and cows last night and my bay window repair didn't drip.
My garden is in a bit of a need of a good brushing and tidy up, the scaffolding needs to come down, and the paving with the puddles to dry for a few hours or days would help.

Chores to finish and shopping to do. Now that it is actually stopped raining!
Best restaurant meal, in Antwerp, Argentine steak!
Best fish, Chorley!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then Scarborough!

Have a freaky Friday, go on, go on, go on. you know it makes sense!
