Welcome @Paule Foster, to this little slice of paradise. Drum stick lollys - just the name spells danger!
Yes that was a clue!

Thank you so much @Annb for your very kind offer.Yes, I meant CAB. Didn't notice the typo. Sorry. I thought all CAB's had reopened - our has. Do you have anyone you could send it to and ask them to tell you what it is about? If you want, or are willing to, you could send it to me. I have a CD slot on this laptop. Anything on it would remain completely confidential. I'm not trying to persuade you, it's just a possibility, failing all else.
Someone still has to programme the computer to generate any programme. It may be automated but there still has to be a human to use the programme. And give the orders to do so within the WAPD.A couple of my friends today said I was making too big a deal on this CD letter saying it wouldn't be important, and one said just to throw the CD in the bin, because the government wouldn't send you important information on a CD.
But I had a bad feeling about this CD. And when I get a gut feeling I stay with it.
It just had a PO address in Belfast on the envelope, nothing else. And just my name on the CD.
One of the ladies at the council where I went this afternoon said this CD was nothing much, just some articles for the blind and how to get free postage.
It took me some time to set up some old equipment to play the CD on an old CD Player I haven't used in years. I had forgotten how to do it. But it wasn't loud enough for Live Transcribe on the Android. Finally I got it loud enough, and I was able to read the spoken word on my Android phone.
I was shocked. All my personal details were spoken by this computer voice. Birth date, other numbers, full national insurance number and more. Other full dates were on here, and qualifying dates for my Pension, and more details. It spoke of my bank details and gave partial figures. It spoke of my text number, partial details again.
The automated voice goes on to say, "Making this decision is based solely on automated processing..." and then goes on to say if I object to the decision made by the automated processing, then I can ring a telephone number for free or I have to have someone in charge of my affairs who can act on my behalf. I have one month to appeal against this automated decision. The date on the CD is 6th November.
You can bet your bottom dollar I will be on to their Wolverhampton address tomorrow.
Who decided to create this CD letter? Many people receiving it will possibly discard it because on the envelope it said "DWP" with the words "Blind Artlcles". I can only asssume this was to throw people off the scent that this CD contained a lot of your full personal details. It had nothing to do with Blind People. One of the ladies at the Council Offices insisted I must have subscribed to receiving Blind Articles and that I had forgotten, and that was all this CD from the DWP was. Nothing more.
It was a very important letter. But is wasn't a suitable method of communication for me, a deaf person. Who the heck decided this level of personal information needed to be sent through the post on a CD? It is almost like AI is taking things into its own hands in a crude sort of way...
Utterly incredulous any one could possibly even think this was in any way acceptable to simply post off, with such limited instruction of what it contains ....A couple of my friends today said I was making too big a deal on this CD letter saying it wouldn't be important, and one said just to throw the CD in the bin, because the government wouldn't send you important information on a CD.

So glad you have managed it yourself. You are such a resourceful lady.Thank you so much @Annb for your very kind offer.
I was about to take you up on it, when I was trying out another way for playing the CD through an old speaker system, which fortunately retained some battery charge. It was not loud enough initially for the Android Live Transcript to convert the sound into written words.
I am totally shocked at the level of detail on this CD on my records with the DWP.
Thanks for your lovely kind offer, but I have enough on the Live Transcript (I kept the history of the words of the spoken letter), to take something serious up with the DWP in Wolverhampton.
That is just appalling Gennepher. I am actually lost for words.A couple of my friends today said I was making too big a deal on this CD letter saying it wouldn't be important, and one said just to throw the CD in the bin, because the government wouldn't send you important information on a CD.

Hug for diminished bus services for Marjorie. Another example of how essential services are being cut. Also a winner for you finishing the course of antibiotics and feeling better now.F.B.G. 0640. Was 5.9 . It seems to be always in the 5.0s on my codefree. It was similar when they tested me before breakfast when I was in hospital this April ...it was just the horrid hospital food pushed it high during the day.
I tend not to eat after 1800 unless we eat out.
I feel a lot better today now I have stopped the antibiotics because I did stay the course to finish them.
Have your best of day everyone.
I have to have a quick trip first thing to take Marjorie into Tai Chi in Carlisle.
Would you believe it, they have taken her morning bus off she used. We seem to be on the road to having less benefits nowadays.
Derek

This sounds very much like the government decision to get as many disabled and long term sick back into work!
I might be wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me.
I would find someone who can help you with this shocking communication.
Thanks @jjjraakUtterly incredulous any one could possibly even think this was in any way acceptable to simply post off, with such limited instruction of what it contains ....
I say GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELING.
Wish I could be there to help.
Sounds like a smattering of good old Anglo Saxon, is just what they need to hear
Yes, I know, much good that would do you .
Slowly slowly, catchee monkey.
Utter *********.
Best wishes
Very angry of Mayfair .
Thanks again Ann.So glad you have managed it yourself. You are such a resourceful lady.
I really cannot comprehend why anyone thought this was a good idea, and for a deaf person @AnnbThat is just appalling Gennepher. I am actually lost for words.
A total nightmare @gennepherThank you @dunelm
I went to the library but they wouldn't let me use a computer to read it because it was a government letter. Said I had to go to the council, who were worse than useless. There was no info on who to email, or what department. There was only a PO Box number for Belfast on the envelope, and just my name on the CD itself. No other contact information.
I agree @Krystyna23040A total nightmare @gennepher
Smashing kaleidoscope. Hope your plan of action reaps a good result but from what you have said about past communications, they will probably get it all wrong the next time. Still, you have their contact details now and can tell them, “we know where you are”.Fbg 7.1 (stress I think)
I have a plan of action for today based on that CD letter from the DWP. Several things. But it is taking up all my time...
No time for a more time consuming creative today. So you get a kaleidoscope of my bed covers....
Wildlife nighttime cameras.
Fox & then Badger - Badger startles Jade
Have your best day.
I need a nap and a cuppa first.
