What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all - still, just - from a very cold L.A. where mundane life resumes after an extended period of as close to jollity as the heady mix of my nature and nurture will permit. Presumably if I could afford it I'd go to therapy and become a Fresh Start after 60 lifestyle coach - don't hold your breath. In no particular order: @dunelm thanks for the creative, use your freedom wisely unlike the original A and E; @gennepher thanks for sharing both the video and creative - i homed in on the floor tiles but I'm with @dunelm on the Brian Sewell part; @lindisfel a souped up Octavia could be dangerous in the hands of an Octogenarian Fen Lad and Lincolnshire lad or no, naturally it was Cambridge wot done it - Trinity College was an interesting choice; @SlimLizzy excellent news on the negative test; @Krystyna23040 your body presumably assumes you will stretch it to the limits again today so is fortifying itself for the demands. Time to do battle with JKP's Nespresso since the bean to cup I prefer has gone the way of all flesh/machinery after 11 years - huge investment or count it ? decisions, decisions. I'd phone a northern chap but I'm pretty sure his pockets and arms are badly matched. If you have targets just say you've met them - ignore the meter, blood panel, overdraft, bathroom scales they are all fake news. Some naughty words so be warned but Travis Bickle for POTUS/PM wouldn't go amiss - good batsman was Dennis. Enjoy Monday whatever Geldorf said

BG 6.8 at 0530 today. That's better.

Did my Zoom "Move More" class this morning with joints clacking and crackling all through, but it was on mute, so no-one else could hear it.

Trying to sort out an account with Ancestry but I'm having problems.

One problem - they seem to think that the Western Isles is part of Ross-shire, which it hasn't been for 30 or more years.

I think , as well, that there may be an issue because my e-mail is on the laptop which won't support the more up to date version of Firefox but the one that will, won't accept my e-mail. I was doing it via an e-mail invitation but will have to try to get to it online with the other one. Aah - the joys of technology! :arghh::arghh::arghh:

More dreams last night, I was lost in a graveyard, surrounded by high walls in darkness, kept tripping, kept searching for a way out, creepy, cold and I'm sweating and panicking. Trying to climb the slimy walls, slipping down, in despair and despondency, crying and screaming. No way out!
It was torture.

I'm sorry bout all my ramblings, I have no wish to derail or offset the thread. I do apologise.

6.5, even though I feel a bit rough.
Done the chores as though I was in a quandry, shoulders hunched, a bit down and so tired.
It's cold here, footie pitches have turned back green after a white covering first thing. Phoned housing about a few things. They did a survey about the property, heard nowt from the report.

Phoned pharmacy to get her meds sorted and mine to be delivered, same time.

It was my specialist that got my test strips for me and got me on the diabetic register, it was because, I was diagnosed as non diabetic. My GP at the time was not happy with the request for a monitor to use to see my reaction to what food did to me. My endo, sent him a letter.
My GP complied with the request. My GP, did not understand the condition and it was him over ten years ago, that said I was weird!! Because of the rarity discovered at that time of the diagnosis. And actually, when I asked my endo, if I was weird, he laughed, and nodded. He said, in medicine, something as rare as my condition is in some respects weird!
And interesting!

Hug for the dream and lack of feedback from the council. Go with interesting from the medics. Absolutely no need to apologise for what you write we all know why we are in this particular thread it is why the Threadfather started such a place. Hope Harrison/Alien Aspie - you would have loved him - is doing well.

11 years for your bean to cup is a good innings.

My Fitbit 'gave up the ghost' yesterday. Just out of guarantee - which was really annoying. A new one should be delivered tomorrow.

My hubby and I are trekkies. It makes me wonder if when humans start living in space will people be more tolerant, less materialistic, will there be less poverty as people will be in one place and not want money etc. Makes me wonder. Although the only ones that want to live up there seem to be the rich and famous, I expect they will all be the same as they are now and fight amongst themselves. I think I will take my chances where I am as no one can hear you scream in space!

Strange how Fitbits seem to do that. As for the bean to cup jobby, I wanted the Heston one that came with a day's course on how to use it but JKP spotted one in John Lewis (about 1/4 price) and it came home sharpish. We're still together :D

Thanks - I'll casually share that with JKP then suggest she may like to PM a friendly message thanking you for your support of my exquisite taste in coffee machines and design. You will doubtless be familiar with some of the Anglo Saxon from negotiations with Mrs Miggins. Probably best not to say that I predominantly drink tea and water, although saying I don't drink gin* either may be helpful - if not at all health and safety friendly. Any mention of my going to Wales last year is for the "granular" negotiation stage. ;)
* O/T those gin glasses are outrageous. Small children could drown in them.

Been doing some more research. This is/has bean :D an interesting read and may make negotiations much easier. I never knew how much there was to consider in buying a coffee machine. Good use of at least part of my day - now to win the Monday quiz night award especially if home Barista is on Only Connect or University Challenge.

I fear, the future in space will be only for the rich, the very rich, science if only the interests of profits are there. Just as it is now.
Countries can't afford it, only multinationals can. They do not have the interests of mankind in it. Sadly only money!
Even NASA, being a U.S. government agency, relies on industry to fund snything.
And China, despite a community is regime, needs multinationals to support its space industry.
Ditto Russia!
India has of course just had a lander on the south pole of the moon. And that is heavily funded by same multinationals that our government has been trying to get deals.
Europe has a viable scientific space industry sponsored by industry of course. But its main interest is satellites.
The latest telescopes have the astronomical scientists scratching their heads, over the size and observations of new findings. Theories being questioned and what were thought galaxies are not, and they have no idea.

Unless the people who do live in space, do not have to pay, in any way, similar to the likes of the services, then there can never be a place where there is no materialism or charges for living there.

News today, that Sir Patrick is pleased with the opportunity of making a trek film Picard, after the series finished.
And I'm hoping to get the second season of the series 'Strange New Worlds' soon.
Won't pay extra for paramount tv.

Live long etc.
