What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a quiet start here in L.A, via Cambridge. No fbg as the 8.45 MRI was vital and the Fbg is more a luxury item. MRI early on Sunday is a smooth process with easy parking and running to time just disruptive of my routine. We were back here in time for my 10.00 am tablets with 2 babybels so all good. Interesting points about funerals. I appear to be tasked with writing a will and organising the funeral of my Uncle: not sure about that but there is little to no contract on that side of the family. now another aunt - who was a link - has gone into a home. No one knows where she is and we only found out by pure chance. Said uncle is/can be a difficult customer therefore some, including that sister - have cut off contact. @gennepher thank you for sharing the creative and hug for the troll issue. I agree with @Krystyna23040 (great fbg btw) why do that? @dunelm enjoy the pea and ham soup and thanks for sharing the creative. Enjoy your Sunday everyone even if, like me, you will have chicken: to be clear it is a huge blessing to be able, by God's grace and in His love, to eat food which in and of itself is good just not to my liking as Sunday roast.
Good that the MRI was a smooth process @ianpspurs.
Yes, my fbg seems to be more normal for me lately. Hopefully it will continue.

Well, #7 & #8 came round for a couple of hours and we had a wonderful, #8 believes everything is a game now and invented the word aagen. And of course aagen and aagen. The simplest items turn into a toy to be played with, and of course he mimics everything in his actions.
#7 has been renamed spidergirl! With her gymnastics going so well, she has been showing off her new acrobatics and moves, one of which is using a dividing wall and the stairs wall to use her skills to scale upwards and then climb over the stairs bannister. And so supple! If she isn't a gymnast, a career as a contortionist could be on the cards.

The wind has abated but it's lashing down now! From one extreme to another, another fence panel along the footie pitches has gone over, a regular occurrence here.

Wonder if we will get a nice day for Mrs L to get out this week, so wanted to do her Christmas shopping, if we have enough after bills paid.

Have a lovely evening if you can with the noise of the wind.

Had a delicious lunch in our little market town. Sea Bream cooked in garlic and herb butter and seasonal vegetables, followed by a really good coffee and cream. The pub/restaurant was really nice and very friendly. Mr K also had sticky toffee pudding.

We did a circular walk there and back - 4 miles in total and over 11K steps.

I cannot hear the wind with my cochlear processor off at night....

Just went in the garden 21.30 pm, to rescue some tarpaulin that was attempting to escape aided and abetted by the wind.
Maybe not my wisest decision, but I didn't want to buy a new one...
Now I am soggy and wet. The trees are battering everything they can...

That was beautiful...
thank you, we learnt lot of poetry just after the war.
Its in the poem about sir patrick spens when he is sent by the king to Norway, I think to arrange a marriage with the king of Norways daughter.
He knows he will drown and the ship be lost but he is duty bound by honour to obey without question.

The line keeps coming up: To Noraway, to Noraway, the kings ships sailed to Noraway upon St Crispins day.
How do I remember, it was 70 years ago?
At this time of year, in similar weather to today.
Such flimsy craft were bound to fail. The king must have been very young or ignorant.
No wise king would dispense with the services of a wise man so carelessly.

Morning toto's...

Hope none of us are in Kansas this morning & all are well ..<pray>

My windy app showing 65 mph winds here in my locality, and it certainly sounded like it at times.

Once or twice the wind dropped and then just roared back up to full speed, slamming into the house. Goodness know what the more exposed northern areas felt like.

No discernible damage to us or those nearby, thankfully

Hope same is true for you all.

Sunday: Lauren out to lunch with a friend
So Billy no mates had an M&S range stir fry...prawns etc.
Very nice .

Fbg this morning 7.4....
That'll do nicely, Monsieur M'ter.

Stay safe all.

Fbg 6.5

I got backache in bed last night, so ended up getting up and moving around for a couple of hours last night (doing some sorting out of stuff and having a couple of cups of tea) until the pain went. Went back to sleep at 3 am, woke at 6.30am, so that was a few hours of good sleep.

Looking out the window, I appear to have collected someone's cardboard recycle in Storm Isha, but I won't know properly until it's daylight. Hopefully it's no worse than that...

I'll have to check the SD cards later to see how the stray cats and other wild beasties fared, but some stray cats came in the bungalow for food last night, because all Midnight's wet and dry food has gone...

Wildlife nighttime camera from the previous night...
Cat Jade looks at camera then she jumps off & Fox jumps on swing & looks in camera!
42 secs

Creative...digital painting begun in Procreate, and finished in a couple of apps.

Have your best day...

Now a cup of tea and Midnight is mithering me for his food bowls to be replenished...

And a peek outside to see what the storm's wind and rain have done...it is just getting light a wee bit...

Just peeked outside. Midnight is doing his rounds of the garden also. He seems to have discovered the scent of a new cat, but it might not appear on the SD cards. A quick glance just shows someone else's recycle rubbish...but I need to check roof and stuff in full daylight...I did throw out a handful of peanuts out at 3am (because I felt sorry for any living beastie out there in that weather, even I got drowned just going out with the peanuts!), so I am guessing badger or fox were still looking for food after 3am because they have all gone...

My friend in Liverpool just texted...she lives in a high rise, near the top. She was not a happy bunny last night....

Flintshire Bridge was closed last night because of high winds...you would be a mad person to consider going over that exposed site in high winds...
