What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Well that experiment went well and worth repeating. Dear subject A, what would happen if you ate some protein first, immediately before the pasta, perhaps with a bit of olive oil and parmesan mixed in - would it a) make you feel less hungry and b) would the protein cause slower absorption and a lower spike?
The experiment went well - positive result but the aftermath isn't great. For some reason BG keeps dropping down into my danger zone and I can't get it to go up again. Chocolate has been my latest resort and I'll see how that goes. I will repeat the experiment with something else, but next time it will be with some protein first. That will at least give my system something to work on and keep me going for longer. But will it stop the drop, I wonder. Worth experimenting. Not that, even if it does work, I will be adding much carbohydrate into my diet.

A. Depends.
B. A lower but prolonged level spike.

A duplicate marriage certificate is exactly that. An exact copy. However a duplicate or replacement driving licence has a different issue number therefore not an exact copy and if required would derail the replacement process meaning MrSlim would have to restart the tedious process all over again. I can understand why he was stressed about it. What i cannot fathom is why he didnt find it. There were perhaps twenty pieces of paper in the briefcase...
Very often we can't see the wood for the trees. We can be looking directly at the thing we are seeking and still not see it. Apparently if you say out loud what you are looking for, it helps. "Birth certificate, birth certificate, birth certificate...." Didn't help but maybe it wasn't directly in front of me.

Pre meal readings and post meal readings at hourly levels, will be useful.
I kept a food diary for years, with readings, what I ate, portion size etc.
I learnt so much from it.
Experimentation is individual, as is your diabetes. Nobody else knows your likes and dislikes, your tastes, your issues and how you stay healthy.

The wind has picked up and still persisting down.
I've ordered another Ark, no sorry, waterproof tarpaulin for sure as the one on it now has a top in one part and I can't nail or glue it down. So I might as well cover the whole roof with another. The old one is surprisingly thin, due to last summer heat, I think.

Housing has sent window repair man to sort the window at last, and fixed draught in front and back doors. The insulation lining was well worn. Not perfect but will return with better.

Watching trekkie reruns on movies. There is an Insurrection going on.

Things a bit busy around here seems someone went to a local youth club to try and collect a debt ……with a gun the youth club in lock down and armed police in attendance oh hum another mundane day here on the hill.

My appointment at the respiratory department at kingsmill went well doctor thinks I’m not doing too badly.

Hawarden Airport tells me the wind speed is 32knots here. Nearly 60 kph. My trees are beating each other.

Smashing piece of art to give a bit of cheer on a dull and windy day

Does food (especially LC/Keto) taste better if one believes the hype/claims?
It might do @ianpspurs. When I cut out the carbs I decided that I would only eat the food that I really loved. As I had always felt that potatoes, pasta and rice were just tasteless fillers my food actually tasted better.

My problem was that I loved the sweet stuff and was struggling to give it up. Then I watched the Panorama programme which was really horrible. It had a huge impact on me as the neuropathy in my leg had taken a turn for the worse.

I think that I brainwashed myself into believing I hated the sweet stuff. I would be in the queue at Costa Coffee staring at the cakes and would repeat to myself over and over again 'what do I want - eat the cake or keep my feet'. I did that thousands of times. It worked as the neuropathy is no more.

Smashing example of reprogramming your brain.

Good morning everyone on a brisk and windswept start here in the dark and dangerous north. Still, the sun is coming out and the sky has hints of blue and yellow - might be nice, especially if you are wearing roller skates. Small but significant tasks today. Firstly, I have received a text from the pharmacy to tell me that my meds are ready. I also have an appointment to get a shingles jab from the vampire nurse. Later, out for early dinner with daughter and family at Robert De Nero’s favourite restaurant. Will he be waiting, speaking Italian? Or is it just another disappointing lie to make a song sound trendy. Dreadful thought of the day - should I replace that bit of Beethoven in my funeral notes with the theme tune from that old BBC programme Arena? No idea. Put the chimp back in its box you twit, you won’t be involved so why worry. Art bit - a line of trees, over there. Hope you day is a happy one, I shall drink koffy and do my exercises.

11.1 during the night. 9.9 at 0230. 7.5 at 0820.

Took a smaller dose of my basal insulin this morning to see if that will stop BG dropping too far during the day. Almost carnivore day today, just the addition of some onion to my steak later today. Making up for the carbs yesterday.

Very breezy here today, trees waving around, but I don't think it's too bad at 33mph (WNW). A bit noisy in the chimney though. Not raining yet, but it is forecast. A bit on the chilly side but that's mostly because of the wind-chill factor.

Beautiful scene. That sky looks like ours at the moment.

Morning all from a gusty - I don't know how gusty and CBA to find out - but dry L.A. Fbg unknown but I've weighed, gone through Fitbit stats and recorded data as Wednesday is when such things must be done. Probably a dictat from the Brussels jackboot wearing bureaucrats yet to be revoked if one believes a certain demographic. @JohnEGreen that was a Curate's egg of a day what with the good news then the drama at the youth club. @dunelm thank you for sharing that wonderful art which made me wistful for The Old Country but as Joni said we can't go back we can only look behind from where we came. @gennepher that creative was sublime, just sublime so massive thank you. @Krystyna23040 great fbg again. Well done on beating the sweet tooth cravings. For me lc/keto food will always be sub-optimal - the orchestra is missing a whole section and several key players in other parts - but I'm thankful for the pleasure I had - Joni again. Yesterday's steak was better than I anticipated - sirloin isn't our go to cut - and in 2024 £5 for that spec made it seem good value. God finds a way to help one deal with life in this period twixt the fall and the kingdom - it is a prolonged Advent. Sub optimal but like Hardy's thrush singing and @gennepher's creative, gives enough clues that things aren't all they seem (except cauliflower rice, fathead dough and assorted ”swaps:” they are nothing of the kind, don't try to tell me that a pig is a goat) Enjoy Wednesday - even after reading that.
