What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from L.A. where the distinguishing feature of the morning is absence. No known fbg and no real sign of spring but we may see double figures and a hint of sun. We'll definitely see some spiffing pork shoulder (with crackling, obs) and some lithe and lissome young people blessed by their creator glorying in their athletic talents - heaven in the ordinary and extraordinary. @Krystyna23040 I do hope you rest today. @dunelm thanks for sharing the art, safe and speedy home for that cup of Joe. @gennepher thanks for sharing the creative: very disciplined keeping to 10 minutes. @Annb hug for the dream and all the extra work. @JohnEGreen thoughts and prayers with you and the family. The other absence is any semblance of a creative bone or urge in my body but I can share so have a poem (Text) and a song which although written almost 100 years apart are obviously linked by Celtic origin at least and share surface and deeper themes. The song is a favourite of mine and is lauded as one of the 3 best rock songs ever written. Not penned by Mrs Brown's grandson either. I adore the distinctive sound of the Edge's guitar and driving bass of this song. Have a good Sunday but if you can't, be honest and bend don't break.

Morening all and again life is getting the way of spending time on the forum today.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.7

Hopefully attached is Mrs J’s latest painting, it is supposed to be the northern lights, neither Mrs J or me, me’s and myself are keen on it. Now try and attach the painting.IMG_0228.jpeg

Do pass on my congratulations and thanks to Mrs A J.

Good morning everyone on a pleasantly quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Reunion came and went - lots of folk happily catching up. Mrs Miggins did a splendid job and hopefully will take it easy today but probably not. Art bit - laid down some random ink and paint and then tried to make something of it once it dried. Hope your Sunday is as pleasant as it can be. I shall wait until I get home to have koffy - the hotel stuff looks ghastly.

I like this very much @dunelm

Thank you @ianpspurs

And thanks for the text to the poem, and also the words for the song....

Thank you @ianpspurs - home safe and sound and luxuriating in a cafetière of Java.

The intricacy is marvellous and must have taken Mrs J a great deal of time and concentration. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you @gennepher - I sometimes have no idea how or what things may turn into - you should check out the pile of no go’s that may, at some time in the future turn into something or end up as wrapping paper.
You want to see my pile of no go's @dunelm
I am still arranging my new painting area...the no go's are on some shelves at the side....I was thinking of repurposing them...

@ianpspurs , @gennepher , @dunelm and others when Mrs J returns from her ladies wot lunch , lunch I shall pass on your kind comments. Yes these paintings take a long time and the level of detail is incredible. Mrs J has just started another for a fiend of hers, the theme is tulips.

is that a howling moon?
if you don't like it, let's see your efforts!
Ha!
I do like it.

5.9 a pleasing surprise, pleasingly done twice.
On a pleasing morning, Sun is shining, still cold tho.
Day of #7 & #8 running me round the garden playing.
Mrs L is pleasingly snoring in her pit. Her mobility is not too good this morning. Her left leg, due to the sciatica nerve is causing the pain, twitching, numbness and annoyance.
Or is it an excuse for a bit of a massage? Hmmm!
I am quite impressed with the levels of the dartists. Having made an effort after retiring from footie, I was quite not bad. But watching the open. My gast is well and truly flabbered.

Have cooked burgers for those in attendance, a few chicken bits and roasted apple for later.
However #8 prefers some wotsits to anything else as Mrs L always leaves them where they can be found.
Gotta go, gymnastics to be shown, as I'm getting a show from #7 while it is still not cold yet.

My best to you all as always!

Fbg this morning 4.2 nurse didn’t like that so gave me a sweet drink I wasn’t going to argue I ended up having a bit of tummy trouble over last couple of days so was given anti diarrhoea meds and put on a drip half way through cannula broke of so had to have a new cannula done feeling lot better now may have op tomorrow with a bit of luck and be home a few days later.
Whence normal service will resume.

Been experimenting on myself again and have realised that I can cope with some carbs as long as I get the insulin dose right. What I can't do is keep weight off when I eat carbs. I think it was 3 times in the last week that I tried adding a meagre amount of carbs to my day. BG was OK but I put on the kilo in weight that I had lost the previous week. I did that 4 times in the last few weeks and the effect has been the same. Now to get that kilo (and a bit more, I hope) off again.
