What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Evening all

Today:

B: Two poached eggs and scallops, asparagus spears topped with butter, all seasoned with a good grinding of black pepper.
Water to swallow tablet.
Espresso.

L: Aperitif: dry white wine.
Tuna steaks rolled in finely chopped celery and oregano, baked with sweet red peppers and aubergines, moistened with double cream and sprinkled with extra mature Cheddar cheese.
Steamed French beans and mangetout with a knob of butter and toasted pine nuts.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
Four squares, Montezuma's Absolute Black 100% cocoa chocolate.

D: Seafood salad made with king prawns and brown shrimps, avocado, baby plum tomatoes, salad onions and Kalamata olives with home-made aioli for dipping and topped with roasted macadamia nuts.
Water to wash down tablets.

Evening meal was shawarma with onions, some endive by way of salad on top, garlic sauce, and runner beans with a knob of butter and salt on the side.
Not a common combination but I had shawarma and runner beans so why not?
I had my neighbour over for food and drinks so I forgot to make a picture, but tomorrow will be the same meal so I'll get another chance. :joyful:

Neighbour is now off to his own bed so I'll get more sleep but less fun. Which I guess is sensible but, erm, I'd have preferred less sensible...
It's a dangerously fine line we walk between friendship, 'friends with benefits' as they call it, and something more. I'm very glad we're able to talk those things through to make sure the friendship won't suffer. The better I get to know him, the more I'm sure this friendship will work long time no matter what else happens in our lives, he's very careful when it comes to feelings.

Good morning,Happy Easter if you celebrateLoving the stories of you neighbour @Antje77 , he cooks, he is in touch with his feelings, have fun! Off to lunch at my sister’s today. She lives on a farm and has lots of baby lambs at the moment, will probably get to bottle feed some :)

Just about to make the frittata that I should have had for my 2ndmeal yesterday - was hungry most of the day, but when it came to time for a meal, I just couldn't be bothered. Cold roast pork and some pre-cooked bacon all cut into very thin strips which I will reheat in butter before adding some eggs. Bit limited as to the filling, but I am trying to keep it carnivore.

Plan for 2nd meal is home made sausage - no breadcrumbs or rusk. Just steak and extra fat. Might add some h/m chorizo for a bit of variety.

I've been reading up on carnivore diets and, while I intend to give it a try (having seen the fantastic result of my friend following it), I suspect that it may not be a long term option for me. I will try, though for as much of a month as I can manage and see what happens, then will try to reintroduce vegetables into my diet. I don't see me managing to go without dairy products nor can I get hold of grass fed products, or bones to make bone broth, so the attempt will not be ideal. My home made sausage should be OK, I think but I can see that processed meat (ham and bacon) could be an issue. Have to think a bit more about that. I'm already missing the few vegetables that I did eat and it's only day 2!

Bet you've enjoyed feeding those baby lambs. We've seen a lot of them recently they are very cute and a real sign of spring arriving too.

Loving your neighbour news updates. Sounds like a wonderful equal relationship.

Good news 're your keeping to carnivore that you are trying out but Ive always thought it was acceptable to broaden carnivore to all animal products and so include diary and smoked meat too. I really can't see why you wouldn't have the same benefits 're your diabetic control if you broaden from meat only to include dairy, eggs and preserved or smoked meat. It needs to be enjoyable and sustainable for you too and I'd imagine that it's more difficult for you 're supply of the ideal grass red meat only when dependant on limited supplies to your island.
