What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

My giddy aunt!
That has got my remembering art in third year!
Such as lino cut, screen print, John Bull kits, pasting, design and much, much more. Even encountering charcoal that covered you. And TD!
And maths!
Graphs and Pythagoras.
All needed some artwork.
maybe I'm not such a **** artist!

Ents!
Some variety of trees do move. I have been told by a tory MP.
Should I believe him.

Angela is no longer under scrutiny.
Diane is back in the fold.
The right wing media is still trying to find a story.
And failing. As always.

And we have received a warning from the environment agency to be aware of the likelihood of too much rain.
Think they are a bit slow.

Have a wonderful weird Wednesday wevening.
So, I now take it we can expect some artwork from you @Lamont D

Had a lovely day today. Walked around Westleton heath and common. Got lost but managed to find our way back.

Found some other walks which we will do on our next visit.

Had a coffee at a lovely little cafe in Westleton. Mr K had a lemon and blueberry cake which he said was superb. I ate a two biscoff biscuits with my coffee as Mr K couldn't eat his.

Then 3 scoops of salted caramel Ice cream with my dinner.

Back on the straight and narrow tomorrow until our next holiday in August. Hopefully tomorrow's fbg will be OK.

My garden is my canvas, and I can't do an exhibition in a gallery, can I?
Yes @Lamont D
Of course your garden is your canvas....
Neither can I do an exhibition in a gallery, the gallery owners fleece the artists so it is not worth it....
My drawings and stuff are my relaxation and meditation anyway...

Fbg 6.9

I had to go out this morning to do a bit of food shopping for my fridge. But I was surprised to see by my car a load of what seems like hay/straw. They were rolled into bundles. it wasn't until I came back home but I saw some of the grass verges had been cut and the grass was that long and it's dried into hay. so I am now guessing that the badgers in the night decided to gather the hay for their homes... maybe they were disturbed in the night and so they left it by my car...

Anyway, I left the hay where it was, and if it is still there, tomorrow, I'll move it.

I was tired when I got back, so I've had a very long nap.

And it is absolutely pouring with rain now...

Creative... I tried a couple of attempts to do this tree. It did not work out. I was just a bit too tired to do a line drawing. So I made a black screen on the iPad mini. Put it in SketchClub app and was having a bit of fun taking away, erasing bits of black and this is how this tree formed, it is on the lines of what I wanted so I'm quite pleased with it. It is a bit like a lino cut without all hard work.
Many years ago, I was a long way from home and I took my dog for a walk at dusk. This was about 40 years ago. I went through what looked like a secret archway to where there was a lot of old ancient trees. The sun was setting quickly, but there were still a little bit of light. I am now making my way back to the secret archway because the light is going quickly when someone's finger touched me in my back. I turned around, but there was no one there. Then it happened again. I turned quickly again, but there was nothing near me. The trees were all around me, but they weren't touching me. I walked much more quickly. Then suddenly something really poked me hard in the back. I turned around, and the trees were closing in on me. My dog took fright and ran away and I took fright too. Luckily, when I got back to the car, my dog was there under the car, a quivering mess. I wasn't much better....

I have never forgotten that incident...

Have your best day.

Time for food here....

Thank you @gennepher for sharing another delightful video and imaginative illustration. I shall not view trees in quite the same light again.

Wednesday's FBG 4.9 mmol/L on waking at 6.00 am.

An awful lot of work to do. Sounds like gym sessions so all the best with that. My mother has a shower chair and it sits on a non slip mat. That is in a walk in shower. Love the stairs.
We will be getting a non slip mat for the shower, which is a walk in style. Unfortunately it is downstairs. The other upstairs alternative is to allow Mum to use our ensuite shower. She certainly won't be able to manage the family bathroom over bath shower, which is what guests normally use.

We have a bath board that fits across the bath, and we both can sit on it, using a hand shower to wash and rinse. We couldn't use a bath chair, the bathroom is too small, but I get a plastic chair. Thinking on we also fill the bath and use a child's four legged plastic stool. Quite common and cheap.
We have three bathrooms. Of course when we were building the family bathroom we didn't think there was any possibility of a visit from elderly parents. Dad refusing to fly and Mum refusing to go on the ferry! Neither wanting to do the long drive via the tunnel. Plus, at that time they were both still reasonably able. Seven years later, Dad isn't with us and Mum has had a couple of nasty falls, she is 92 and getting frail, but is determined to visit while she still can. Even if that means getting on the dreaded ferry. Some years ago my parents went on a cruise. Mum was so dreadfully seasick she swore off any kind of sea travel from then on. I think she is really brave to try it again now.

Good morning all. fbs this morning at 5.30 was 7.8. Up early as our visitors from USA are arriving soon and we are off to the airport to greet them. They will be staying with us for just over 2 weeks. Busy times ahead! Am waiting for hospital appointments for heart scan, liver scan etc so hoping they don't clash with our schedule for trips out with visitors. Best wishes everyone.

TD - a smack on the wrist with a ruler if you pushed your pencil, with the words, “it’s technical drawing, not technical pushing.”

5.8 at 04.00 today. Getting ready for bandaging appointment plus a first appointment with GP clinic diabetes nurse. HBa1c must be reasonable by now (last one was last November and was 58 mmol) and I'm hoping that, like my weight this morning, it will be down a bit. Weighing in 1.2 kg less than last week.

You don't have to be elderly to be in danger in bath or shower. Yesterday morning, Em slipped on the wet-room floor, bumped her head and knocked herself out. Her mum is a qualified nurse and checked her over. Last I heard, all was well but I'll hear more today. I would have taken her to A&E but her mum didn't think it necessary. She just stayed off school (again) for the day. We used to joke that her dad was accident prone, but she seems to be following in her father's footsteps.

5.6 this morning. The best fbg for a while. Am really happy that I can have special treats on special occasions.

But now back on the straight and narrow.

Today we will go for another lovely walk before making our way back to Norfolk.
That ice cream seems well tolerated. I would be up for a gradual reduction experiment with it.

Hope Em is OK. All the best with the diabetes nurse - hope she knows about diabetes!

Life catches up with us all, @SlimLizzy as you know

But kudos to mum, rather brave of her I think .

And Respectfully, she's one tough ol' bird.

I know that there is need for housing but down the road from us they are building ne housing on what had been a haven for wild life despite many objections from locals there were badger sets foxes wild birds and in summer it used to be alive with butterflies I and Melody would go down there and wander for hours with taking photos but all that has now been destroyed and yesterday many locals were dismayed to here that a young badger had been run over and killed while trying to cross the road next to the building site.

Good morning everyone on a dull start to double dip bin day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this am, just missing out of a “book ‘em Danno” music extravaganza. Walk into town via post office yesterday - it’s located inside a local shop as post offices tend to be now - a SPA in this case. Still, it provides a good service and the staff are not being accused of anything. Must remember that I cannot recall any past events if questioned - but how do I remember that I can’t remember :arghh: :bigtears: :coldfeet:. Probably won’t be believed as I don’t earn a fortune in forgetfulness. Do we actually need these people at the top? I forget. Today’s job will be to wander down not to station to collect train tickets from the robot ticket machine - I usually have e-tickets but for some reason it hasn’t happened this time - oh well, I get a nice walk in. Best put on a ganzy at it looks a bit January out there. Must remember to wire up that grenade to the door bell for any prospective canvassers. Art bit, tree sketch - I am being a tad relaxed with art at present. I don’t mind. Girl in the Bubble is still with us for a while - such fun. Hope you decide to have a good day. I shall drink koffy and decide if a shower is still permitted between January and June.

Today fbg is 6.6
Yesterday was sa t outside and actually heard some birdsong lifted my spirits somewhat had bee a little down of late.
Understandable @JohnEGreen with all that's been going on.

But I think you've well proven you're up the challenges.
But even the toughest among us can get beaten down occasionally.

Nice you found a lift from such a simple source, more of it needed for all of us.

Sometimes life just makes us look a little harder for the light.

We rise
We fight
We survive
We sleep
Rinse & repeat.

Best wishes the day keeps improving mate
