What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Needed crutch, too much walking operation day .

And bad hand gets achey holding crutch.

Add in blindsided by one or two more able getting on & off the trains, but some sharpened elbows on return journey made life a tad easier.
It is every person for themselves as I found out this morning...I hope those sharpened elbows of yours did a very good job @jjraak

Good morning everyone on a rainy start the what looks to be a rain filled day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.8 this a.m. and birthday wishes to Mrs @Lamont D. Farmers Market today - get the sourdough to cut and freeze. Veterans Breakfast Club and then the end of year spectacular at The Girl In The Bubble’s dance class. She finished pre-school yesterday and will spend next week in Reception Class - she is very excited about the whole thing. Was I ever excited about school? The dinners were very good. Not so much now as they are now merely ‘lunch’. Art bit - blooming ‘eck, a tree! Hope your day is a good one - we shall enjoy the rain on our faces. But first, some koffy.
Love the tree and fence @dunelm

I went out this morning to do a quick bit
of chilled food shopping at the supermarket. I was to be back home within an hour as I had some stuff to do.

I was at the till conveyor belt, having one person in front of me and one person behind me, when I realised the cashier had rapidly left the till. Then the woman in front of me, whose stuff was still on the conveyor belt was also making her way to the exit. The man behind me had left his trolley and also making his way to the exit. And I was jammed in a tight area with my walker, not being able to get out. I realised the staff were all hastily exiting the store. I had no idea why at this point. It was probably well less than a minute from the cashier leaving the till, and I kicked the shopping trolley behind me out of the way. And started walking slowly (fast as I could) towards the exit. No one took any notice of me, nor offered to help me, everyone had left the store, all staff (& customers ) had left the store, I was last to leave.

I did not have my cochlear sound processor on because last night something corrupted the program out of the blue, and it went off. And when I tried to connect the cochlear sound processor up this morning it would not do so saying 'error message'. So, I had no means of hearing any sound.

I assumed it must have been a fire alarm in the supermarket, because it took all the store assistants by surprise, and they just got the hell out of the place. I had a quick look around but there were no visual flashing lights anywhere. I thought something like that was supposed to be law these days.

I do have the sunflower lanyard on, which means hidden disabilities. I have a large enough red tag on it, saying I am deaf and I lipread. I am pushing my walker at snail's pace. Not one staff came to help me. And I didn't see one member of staff checking all the aisles...it was every person for themselves....

The only reason I stayed outside, before we were let back in over half an hour later, was that I had left my handbag (cards & phone etc) on the conveyor belt, I was more intent on getting out of the trapped position I was in between the 2 trolleys, and I needed my walker to walk...and the store was empty by then...

I fell asleep, when I got back home, for 2 hours.

I don't feel like doing much today now. I am going back to sleep.

Creative ... kaleidoscope in Laboscope, pointing camera outside my open bedroom door to the garden. The pink is two of my bedside table fans...

That alarm, whatever it was, because I couldn't hear it, was a total surprise to both staff and customers (It was a biggish supermarket), and it was literally every person for themselves to get the heck out of there.

Have your best day...

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. Life here in Tilehurst Towers is continuing at pace, as is Mrs J’s recovery. Earlier this morning after plinky plonky practice I started to prepare the vegetables ready for dinner tonight only to be told that things were not right with what I was doing, at length and at an extremely loud volume. Yep Mrs J is well on the road to recovery.

Blood sugars this morning were 8.1 . I know why and if I were say why I would have to terminate your existence. Official secrets act, well mine any way.

Hopefully attached are the final picture of that child’s outside play sink that I have trying to finish for many months. The parents of the children it was made for have collected it and I hope it is being put to good use. I made it using reclaimed items and did not charge. I make children’s and other items only for people I want to.

Stay safe all, stay out of Mrs J’s way as I am.View attachment 68733View attachment 68734

What terrible work procedures for an emergency evacuation of a building and only thankful that it sounded like a false alarm and not the building burning down. I think a letter pointing out shoddy procedures is in order, someone needs some extra training. Lovely kaleidoscope, take care.

Awful experience in the supermarket so hug for that. The kaleidoscope is a tour de force - awesome so thank you for sharing.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier was that at about 1 AM we were woken by a rather loud bang it seems an underground gas pipe up at the corner of the road a hundred yards or so away had exploded resulting in a fair bit of damage and fire engines and police arriving post haste the pavement at the end of the road now is cordoned off and repairs under way.

I would agree with you @dunelm
I presume there would have been a voice announcement from above in the ceiling as well as an alarm, because people started looking up. Only I would know none of that.

I will do the letter next week.

I have been in several scares of this nature, and in all bar one, it was every man/woman/person for themselves.

I could never do that to that point of selfishness...

belated birthday wishes to Judith.

It was a total madhouse earlier. It
Hopefully, Mrs L can energise herself to see more of the clan.
or try and get out more.

6.1 yay!

Gas off at 7.30!
Salad for first meal, and probably second as well!

Cricket and Jimmy over.
I would ask him to see the summer out.
As a lanky suppoter, he could and should come back to Old Trafford and play there!

Was gonna get paint out again today, cos if not, it would now be Monday to do it, as it is a celebration this weekend for Mrs L.
As tomorrow is Mrs L 's birthday.
And it's the twelfth today.
My son is working in N.I. And has sent pictures of the Belfast area.

@gennepher, I cannot believe that you need all your fans on to keep cool?
I'm certain that in N.Wales, it is not that warm, mid teens temps.
I'm sitting with politics social on the box while posting and reading on here, with the back door open in shorts and T-shirt!
I'm not cold.
I do think that, your homeostasis is overheating, somehow.
Before diagnosis, in winter, I would be doing exactly the same, because of the rollercoaster blood glucose levels were causing my homeostasis to make me sweaty, it would have to be really freezing to get me to shut the doo
Maybe it is the architecture of your bungalow or the design to keep heat in.
It doesn't seem right to me.
But I could be totally wrong.
That is what doctors are for.
To ask why?

Gasmen meanwhile are making a right noise and a mess outside, it is labour intensive, they do work hard, the lads, have made cuppa for them. Apparently, out of my hair tonight!
Cheeky buggers.

Seems the financial services are reviewing the doom and gloom, since last week, pound has gone up!

Why did **** Tyson wait for this week to announce redundancies in U.K.?

Why does **** Tyson donate to the tories?

As a brexiteer, why has Dic k Tyson, taken jobs away from U.K.? Not only to the far east, but to Europe?

Hard week for us lot on here, there is always some health thing as we get older. My list below has grown so much these last ten years. It always seems one knock after another.
Have a lovely weekend.
Hope Mrs L had a good day today.

How awful for you, Gennepher. I don't know what the problem with people is these days. There seems to be no consideration for others any more. Luckily, I think all of the young people I know are more considerate than their elders, so there is some hope for the future, but my generation seem to be so very selfish.

As for that supermarket with inadequate safety procedures and warnings that everyone can be aware of - well, it beggars belief! And to leave someone trapped by trolleys is almost criminal.

I'm so sorry to hear that @gennepher. I cannot understand how supermarket staff and fellow customers ignored your plight. That nobody helped you to leave the buliding with all your belongings is beyond belief
