Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Today it was 10, my alarm went off at 3.30 with a 4.9 reading. I tried to explain to my wife that the reading was ok but she panicked and made me a jam croissant and cup of tea. My usual readings are between 5 & 7 since switching to Tresiba. I take 36 units at 9pm. I can then get through the day with minimal food until about 5.30pm. I am trying to lose 10kg I am now at 7kg so it’s working.

Good evening @Davecummins and welcome to this FBG thread for type 2 diabetics.
As type 3C, you may find this thread more relevant

Hello from Montreal. I woke to a BG of 5.6 mmol/L this a.m. (07:00hrs EST)

Now that is weird. Cause I cheated late last night. Two hot dogs and tomato sauce (no bun/bread.) (I pretty much fasted all day yesterday and was starved by supper time. (Whey Protein shake for breakfast) Burger pattie and some pasta, supper.)

A1c still 5.1% (MySugr app/Accu Chek.)

Hello @oldnevada from London. If you normally eat at mid-day, but decided to skip lunch yesterday, it's no wonder you were ravenous by supper time.

If you can get away with two hot dogs and tomato sauce late in the evening in addition to a burger and pasta at supper with no ill effects, then why not?

My experience is different. If I were to eat late at night, it would push my FBG readings next morning up to unacceptable levels, plus I need my beauty sleep!
