What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Greetings pop pickers - that dates me and anyone who remembers the reference. Pausing a reel to reel tape recorder and starting again at the exact start of the intro to the next song on a Sunday afternoon was an art form: was it illegal?. Which brings me on to our Gallic correspondent, the one seamlessly blending in with locals by wearing a hooped t-shirt, beret, string of onions round his neck and adopting a ubiquitous shrug - as seen on Allo, Allo - plus the artistic natives of Lyon. Wonderful skill in both cases and thank you @dunelm and @jjraak for sharing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Mr K and to Mr Josiah if he is still scrubbing that carpet. Here we are promised 21°C tomorrow then 19°C just to confuse all those who have donned 7892468 layers already. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday.

Good morning everyone from the warmth of French Froggy France. A bit overcast but you can’t always get what you want Mr Jagger. It’s quite tiring spending a day sitting on a variety of public transport seats and thinking ‘so far, so good’ when multiple connections are coming down the pipeline. Today is all about shopping and doings some fixing up - which will include mending a crack in a glass door panel (wiv a fancy kit) and repairing a triple lock door locking mechanism - I shall use that experience to advise the govt on state pensions. Art bit - not actually painting a waterfall. An interesting art project in Lyon if interested. Hope you have a good day. Everything turns on your assumptions about it of course, but that’s on you as Marcus Aurelius might have observed. Must surely be time for koffy.
Brilliant painting @dunelm
It is always time for coffee...

@gennepher, just thought on.
If your surgery has no doctors, who signs the prescriptions?
That is indeed a mystery @Lamont D

1729023852316.gif

No one at the surgery signs them, the prescriptions arrive (from an unknown source) in their hundreds at a time through the printing machine, already printed "Signed by Locum"

It is not like the old days when a doctor had to physically add his scrawl to each prescription. I am guessing there is an AI bot approving or denying your prescription...

I have been waiting for years, for somebody to ask this question....

Toyah asked it a few years ago @gennepher.
I think you can enquire with the regional NHS trust, or whatever it's called.
But, if you get the prescription, why, bother?

Another day tomorrow.
Have a peaceful night.

Fig 6.9

I am really tired today.
I was out this morning doing very local stuff and picking up Amazon parcel at the pickup point.

Well, a bit of a disaster, picking up the parcel.
It had split open in every way possible, and someone had taped it up. I didn't know whether to reject it, but I could see that there were two things in it I really wanted it now. I could not tell if the other thing was in it, but I thought I would sort that out when I get home.

I couldn't even lift the parcel, so the post office employee took it to my car for me.

It was two 5 L containers of white vinegar, food grade and you can also use it for cleaning. I use that for all my cleaning purposes, I do not use the proprietary stuff. I took photos of the parcel before I got it into the house. I simply took the two 5 L containers in separately using my walker. And squashed between the two 5 L bottles was my other item. It WAS/HAD BEEN a pair of wraparound glasses with pink lenses. It was a very last one on Amazon...

I had ordered the two containers of white vinegar on different days, several days apart so I did not expect them to arrive on the same day, and in the same flimsy box. They were on offer, and the offer had continued...

I was so disappointed...

I was so annoyed with the packer who had absolutely no brain cells who put a pair of wraparound glasses in the same box as two 5 L containers of white vinegar to be tossed around on the journey to my pick up point. But then I thought I was being unfair, because perhaps the packer was absolutely exhausted in the job they were doing. But then, who puts two 5 L containers of liquid in one parcel?

I made a flask of tea, went to bed. I was really tired because my cochlear battery had pegged out while I was out, and this made lip reading impossible with people who don't speak clearly. I don't have that info because the cochlear remote app on this iPad mini is not working because Bluetooth is not working on the iPad mini and so I don't have the information as to the state of the rechargeable battery before I leave the house. I did carry the spare rechargeable battery and I kept it in a little bag in my handbag, but at some point, it must've fallen out of my bag.

I could not find another pair of my wraparound glasses with pink lenses anywhere, then I stuck lucky. In China and someone running a business probably from a tiny room, this guy had TWO of my pink glasses. I pressed BUY immediately. The last two in the whole wide world.!!! They're being tracked, and will arrive at me on a specified date next week. I am sure they cannot fare any worse in an aeroplane hold...

I just fell in a deep sleep until 9 pm...

Creative...I have run out of time so a Labocope pic of the end of my bed...

No time for anything else now I need to get to sleep again...Sweet dreams...

EDIT: I have just learnt, from my friend in the States, that if you live in the States then you can actually get a battery app on your phone and recharge that cochlear rechargeable battery on your sound processor while you are out! Her granddaughter has that. Does that exist here in the UK???
But I cannot see how that would work, or be useful, because I would not be able to wear it as I was recharging it would I?

Fox & Badgers
Foxy Loxy and Ma & Pa Badger
48secs

There is also Skinny Fox, from last year, who I suspect is Foxy Loxy's brother. He has filled out and looks good this year, but I have not included him in the video clips because he has developed mange again. Just in his tail so far (sad because he had a lovely bushy tail a couple of months ago). It is upsetting to see. But otherwise he is healthier than last year. Anyway I have obtained some meds for him from a fox society. So, he is getting a honey sandwich nightly...
But I will include little peeks of his head and shoulders in the bushes...

Creative is one I did awhile ago, on crinkled paper....

It's nice enough outside, that is it is not raining!!! Temp 8C, just a breeze so not cold...

Will go out and sit on the swing for a bit...

Have a good day.

Thank you so much for treating poor Skinny Fox for recurrent mange @gennepher.
As always, thank you too for sharing a beautiful painting on crinkled paper.

Tuesday 's FBG 4.4 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.

Bag them up for leafmould next year, free compost and a great soil improver.
I never have enough leafmould, the soil here was unimproved clay and is very heavy to work with still, after several years of digging in leaves and compost.
We're on heavy clay also @SlimLizzy. Garden compost is broken down by bacterial action and heats up in the process.
Leafmould is made when autumn leaves are broken down by the slow action of fungi, rather than by bacteria. Little heat is emitted.

Pile leaves up separately in a bespoke leafmould bin or cage and you'll have the perfect material to use for mulching and potting in years to come.

I just leave the leaves where they fall in this "natural" garden. I leave the clippings and small cuttings on the ground too where they fall, and within a few days they are trampled in the ground by the badger and fox with their digging and mooching around. I have loads of fungi on them this time of year @LivingLightly. I presume this is a similar kind of thing, albeit in situ so to speak.

Smashing image despite the trouble with that parcel.

Good morning everyone from the darkness of pre dawn due to being an hour into the future in French Froggy France. Chores yesterday and Mrs Miggins got everything down from one of the two mezzanines for sorting and then gave the mezzanine a thorough cleaning. Lots of books, old tapes and another stash of CD’s to add to the 1500 or so already boxed up ready to go to new homes. Tackled the triple lock on the kitchen door - stripped out, cleaned, oiled and put back - time will tell if that will be enough. Lunch to prepare for guests today and some more sorting and disposing of ‘stuff’, mainly to the local Emmaus shop who recycle second hand goods. Art bit - a hint of yellow. Hope your day is a good one, I have decided to repeat last Thursday. But first, some koffy.

Fabulous bit of artwork ....
Thank you for posting .

Nearly didn't open.
I hate all those sneaky web sites, that makes you deselect so many options .

But I do get why they do it .

But persevered and glad I did .

Fur those who maybe didn't bother ..
Here's what ya missed
Details is incredible, I never noticed at first steps were drawn onto building. Thought I was just the camera angles. Doh...

Thanks @jjraak and isn’t that building transformation just something smashing.

Morning everyone on a slightly damp start here to a day which could see temperatures rise to 22°C. Nowhere near a UK record, that is currently the 29.9°C on October 1st 2011. I don't know so I can't share my fbg. @gennepher hug for the broken glasses and over heavy parcel but thank you for sharing that wonderful kaleidoscope. I hope the glasses from China arrive quickly and intact. @dunelm, a busy but productive day yesterday with more to come by the sounds of it. Thank you for sharing the art - the hints of yellow are splendid, quite Jodie Whittakeresque. This evening will see preparations for another passing out parade for General Waste Bin. I do feel my posts are rather like the Fool's description of Lear as an O without a shape. Anyhow, I genuinely hope you all enjoy even the smallest parts of your Wednesday but ideally the whole shebang.

Love the artwork @dunelm
Lots of sorting...

I shall start this posting with good morning, but morning for me was must earlier in the day and decidedly dark. Things to do, places to go and hopefully arrangements to organise, all with a little joker in the mix.

Yep the joker was my morning blood sugars a drat, double drat 4.6

This value meant I had to wake Mrs J and ask her to drive me around, this means I will have to open my wallet and treat her to lunch after my plinky plonky lesson drat and drat again.
Now if you don’t mind I’m going to hide in a corner and cry cuddling my wallet.

I most certainly would not rock that boat @Lamont D
If my prescription arrives at my pharmacy, who am I to question its journey there..
