What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A great red roofed house adunelm
I had to search it to find it!

I love all your mother's hobbies! May she have a great winter season painting...
Thank you @gennepher - yes, my mother has and has had some interesting pastimes; potting and building her own kiln, artist, art teacher, farmer, folk singer, pianist - when we were growing up she made a lot of our clothes (we looked like a cross between hippies and teddy boys).

Had a text from Royal Mail yesterday saying they had been unable to deliver a parcel and to click on a url to arrange redelivery at a cost of £1.99 then the site asked for name address age and so on then bank card details. I then copied the tracking number went on the Royal Mail website entered the tracking number to be told that it was unrecognised so have deleted the text and there was no way I was going to give card details asked for.
Not sure but suspect scam.
Be on your Guard.
Very wise to check out the text @JohnEGreen .. It is such a shame that they scam so many people. Scammers are 'the scum of the earth' the way they prey on people.

Morning all from L.A. on another grey skied and incrementally cooler start, must be seasonal. I feel increasingly detached from this thread, like a sportsperson watching from the stands as you all carry the fight to, what, the enemy? So here's some words of encouragement - I hope. @JohnEGreen hug for the sub-optimal sleep, best wishes for the new device to work well and praise for the humour in the "recycling" post. @dunelm nice tree up post, well done to your mum on still knitting and pursuing her art. Fair Isle knitwear seems to be a trend this year. JKP's mum still knits at nearly 95 but did say this may be her last hurrah for knitted presents for her 8 great grandchildren. As for scams, the scam she suffered certainly precipitated her decline. Some complex designs have tired her but such spirit to plan and make all those.. Thank you for sharing your art - took some searching to find the red house. @Krystyna23040 good news on the ankle healing and being sensible about returning to NFK. No decorations here yet except an indoor Advent wreath in situ. We may look for external wreaths for graves and our front door this weekend before the better ones sell out. Salmon salad later, tea, meds and the first few sets of steps already - great is thy faithfulness, Lord. Not exactly Pacino inch by inch epic from Any Given Sunday but heartfelt. Enjoy your Friday - big respect to Paddy McGuinness and Sir Chris Hoy.

I'm very lucky in that Alistair is our postie and nothing that arrives at the Royal Mail office for us, in Stornoway, would ever fail to be delivered, so no reason to believe such scams, but there are others out there to be wary of. I just never follow up any text, e-mail or phone call that asks for any details. I fell for one once - never again.

BG at 04.30 - 8.3.
I fell for a scam once @Annb - and I am usually so careful. I was travelling home on the bus after some dental treatment. Was absolutely exhausted. Opened a text warning me that I would lose my email if I didn't log into my account. As I entered my password I realised it was a scam but to late as I had entered my password.

Then I realised it was ok - because I was so exhausted I had entered one of my old passwords in error. I was so relieved that all was ok.

Thank you @ianpspurs and well done to JKP’s mum for her spirited knitting efforts.

I had a phone call from someone identifying themselves with HMRC saying that my tax needed adjustment.
I put the phone down.
My son is a taxman. So I know that he checks mine every year.
The funny thing is they phoned on a mobile number, ha!
And any notifications from them are done on my yougov site.
And finally, they should not phone or text you, to alter your account.
No giving bank details over a phone you lot.

7.0 this frantic frying fish Friday.
Went downtown this morning as my first attempt at chrimbo shopping.
Failure. Never got to the card shop....
However, I did go in that there supermarket, that my anxiety hates, the worst of it, was going in, the queue for the tills, not enough as usual, and the best was just getting out of there. I needed five minutes outside before moving on. I'm glad I did it, and picked up a wonderful gammon joint, and a nice great for Mrs L.
Matt up with a former colleague, had a coffee, well he did. I had tea, and sat and talked for about half an hour ish. Got a shank of course.
I'm knackered.

Gotta catch up with chores, but it was nice to get out.

Just have your own freaky Friday and my best wishes.

Yes, I grow Mahonia @gennepher. Lovely fragrant flowers that light up a dark corner during the coldest months.

Friday's FBG 4.9 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.

A couple of hours ago our neighbour knocked on and told us she was not well and had chest pains so I called 111 and after a few questions they sent an ambulance and she has been taken to hospital I just hope and pray that she will be ok.
Well done John .

NHS at its finest

Let's hope they are alright.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. Today I’m up and about before dawn, over the years I’ve noticed that dawn does not like early starts at this time of year.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.3

Stay safe all and enjoy today.

Yes the response from the NHS was very good especially for a Friday when they get very busy at the moment we don’t know how she is but they did say they will let us know how she got on as soon as they can.

My fbg this morning is 5.2.
