What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A meh reading for me of 7.4

Putting it down to yesterday & prospect of today running round & round my head.

But apart from the excess usage (aka stretching & relevant tasks) yesterday was a good day, I think.

An assessment prior to some rehab on my 'mechanical' skills.

Shoulder likely to still offer some improvement ....yay.

Hand issue may be improved by manipulating the heavy scarring.
Mention made of massage, acupuncture & even some laser work....mmhh

But leg, in the opinion of the guy in charge needs a CT scan first before starting any treatment.....which was what I was hoping my surgery could have organised .

He agreed any visit to my nearby A&E, which surgery suggested, would simply waste both our time as the end result would be they wouldn't touch it & simply send me back to gp for a referral to the hospital that specialises in polytrauma surgery ..(only 2 in London)

Seems there's a possibility leg bone hasn't reunited correctly or, (& maybe more likely ? )
There is a low level underlying infection....eek & yuk .

But CT scan will offer such information, so happy that's been suggested to eliminate the root causes of the pain .

Ex army & seen loads far worse than me, but that experience led him to suggest a possible mtbi.

Off to see neuropsychologist, today.
Recalling the incident in graphic detail rinses me out, & the battery of testing has me anxious already.

So keeping my eye on the goal of some 'healing' of that part of me, keeps me focused on the positives.

Currently crawling though rainy London traffic in an Uber.

Safe day all.

6.4 at 04.00 today. Couldn't take painkillers because I'd had to take them at 01.00 before going to bed. Waited until just after 05.00 for pills. BG up to 7.4 after a cup of tea and it's still there.

Leg day today. So today is the day when I can weigh myself without all the bandages on and I have lost 1.7 kg this week. That's after adjusting my basal insulin to reduce the amount of bolus I was taking. Trial and error as usual.

Good morning everyone from a “here comes the sun” start to this weeks international bin lorry cavalcade extraveganza here in the dark and dangerous north. We remnants of a bygone age are easily entertained. It’s like holding a lantern in the dark and watching the moths flock to the light and do a bit of head banging. Girl In The Bubble made a paper chain last night as a finishing flourish to what now resembles the centerpiece of Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas village in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Dental appointment this afternoon - just a regular check up but what fun! Art bit, well that’s whatever you like. I am reminded of the Epic of Gilgamesh in that our plans can be ruined by a myriad of things. My day will be a bit more pleasant as I ignore those possibilities. Bin lorry has been and gone so I best now go and make more koffy.

Well in the vein of celebrating success, well done on the weight loss.

But a hug for the pain .

That wait until you can take more is annoying.

Morning all from a dark, damp and dreary L.A. @jjraak I hope today goes well and despite the aches and pains yesterday seems to offer hope, which is very seasonal. Apparently sandwiches have been enlisted by the professionally outraged into the anti-woke army to ensure the culture war goes on and on and ..... too much yassification*. for them. I must declare my conflict of interest. Ham is far too salty, I abhor English mustard and always preferred rye type sourdough bread. @dunelm thank you for the pared back red top special (defo not yassified) and the link to that website (totally yassified). One feels that is quintessentially you in many ways despite your denials. I hope the dentist visit goes well - I won't mention Marathon Man (oops). @Annb I hope leg day goes well, well done on the weight loss but hug for the pain. @Krystyna23040 good news on the sensible walk yesterday. @Lamont D are we thinking of a different C Lewis? Here, the new all singing, all dancing Mr Tumble drier - Wi-Fi enabled dontcha know - finally arrived yesterday just before JKP let off a blood curdling volley at the vendor. #1 son, aided?, by his offspring retrieved the Christmas tree and some but by no means all decorations. It is Merry Mildenhall day here with two Grandchildren in the choirs. What jolly japes. Enjoy some/all/a high percentage of Thursday

Interesting as always @ianpspurs ....Mmhh...

I think I must be trans woke .
Preferred pronouns (sandwich wise ) are mmhh & nom, nom, nom.

I like ham and English mustard..how farage of me

yet I also like so many others on offer...ala Bowie

I'm like a kid in a sandwich shop sometimes..

Chicken (coronation a fav )..roast beef...with horsey radish obv .

Yes mother, I know...
But when reality doesn't seem like reality, does it really matter ?

Yassification...
Yeah, won't be using that.

But good to share

Enjoy mildenhall day

Cheers for the hugs, etc.

The day went as these days go.

Professional, business like, indifferent or judgemental...?

Who knows .

But another one over, so scrape up the anger, put away the resurrected moments & ride that emotional wake.

Then package it away until the next time.

So with a lid Popped on it, try to live the bestest of days.

Or at least that's the plan.

Given every other time, I'm not too confident.

But as my inner voice say.....
"What doesn't kill you...

Better not be there when you get back up.."

Though some of the other voices say "chill.....'.
Oddly in a Samuel l Jackson voice obv with the profanities.

Off to find some peace .

Take care

I don't do creative but I do enjoy finding and sharing what other, talented people have created, usually in linguistic form as that is my preferred learning style. Here is a deceptively simple poem about a poor Detroit childhood stripped of what one analyst called the rosy glow of a Hovis advert treatment. For me there are bitter sweet - I miss so many relatives - memories and an overdue penny dropping of what my grandfathers would have done. There was none of the chronic angers in any of the homes of my childhood: apologies for any who unhappily remember only too well such times. Many here have grandchildren who will only know of warm homes, ample food, presents and treats. For myself I'm more than happy for them to live for years in a blissful state of what did I know, what did I know? Life is about more than carb counting it also involves love’s austere and lonely offices for some here. I've ordered the turkey today thanks be to God for the wherewithal and to those whose
cracked hands that ached
from labor in the weekday weather made
banked fires blaze. (and so much more) who made that possible. Sadly, No one ever thanked him (them) properly but I know they didn't do it for thanks.

I do think I would prefer woke.
as it means you care.
as someone who is destined to do something a machoistic ogre would not only not do but probably find an excuse or buy some one to do it for them.
in my eyes I would rather not be a fascist.
never bought a sandwich for myself, don't like any mustard.
And isn't yassa, Greek?
Don't forget to use commas, and proper grammar etc. You are not texting!

6.7 this time troubling thursday.
And I find drink a cuppa as I did it.
It is noticeable that if I do the finger prick with a cuppa, the readings are higher, roughly .5mmols

Box bedroom is finished and a good job done all round.
Until Mrs L wanted new curtains.
So until curtains etc........Not done!

#8 had nanny getting myself to put batteries into the ornaments so the ratbag could enjoy the light show.

After a dry morning, it is now a flooded garden, the price of this property has gone up, largely due to a moat that the whoever (up there) has now bestowed on us.
This is stormageddon rainfall man!
Had to don my big trenchcoat on, to lift the box of outdoor electrical stuff up higher cos of the drenching and flooding that may happen around them. Never seen that before. It is a tad moist out there you lot.

Going the shops for more fresh stuff, I bumped into my old friend who was passing to go the barbers, he has still got hair.....! Anywhichways, he dropped a bit of a bomb. He is getting divorced. What?
Only forty years!

Chrimbo cards to write, oh joy!

My bestest wishes and merry Christmas everybody, I slade that one......!

A moat? You've gone and yassified Lamont Towers. Woke it is then. You'll be delighted to know things can only get batter. That weather man looks in need of fresh underwear which is slightly worrying.

AHH, but in this reality....(Whose, indeed)
Texting IS Gramma, grandma, grammar aka Kelsey

So who's to say neigh or hey nonnie no, as long as we all get the jist/gist/jest of the message ... ;)

Enjoy the Christmas period, extended tho' Mrs L may make it .

However we celebrate or not, we'll all look back at some point and remember with fondness the minutest of details, regardless of how the whole piece/peas/peace turns out .

Live long & prosper master Luke.
