What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

(Capt Tomos Prys) turns out to have been on one of Drake's expeditions, then became a privateer even after the war with Spain ended. He was also a poet and his works are in the British Library. Must see if I can access anything he wrote.
His poetry was in welsh! No point me trying to read it. Apparently, his English was pretty poor so he didn't write much in that language.

Apart from a Stevie Wonder classic from 1984, I have nothing to declare except my genus (stet). Two exceptional but different pieces of art today so I wanted to say thank you so much for sharing @dunelm and @gennepher. @alf_Josiah it may well be national bin day but it darn sure ain't international bin day pardner - that's Saturday, yeehaw. @Krystyna23040 good news on the car passing the MOT so easily. @Annb @JohnEGreen and any others interested in tracing and contacting relatives, enjoy. Two grandchildren slept over last night and most likely again tonight:. Fen back roads at 6.00 am aren't for the fainthearted. Meanwhile, Ange is still hanging on by a thread: unbelievable Jeff. Leftover Thursday collides with Elsie Keto: disaster daahling, hope your day is spiffing in whole or even in part.
Thank you, Ian.....

I have just had a text from the hospitals that my appointment with the continence nurse next week is at the hospital, 30+ miles away.

Really???

My paperwork says that the appointment is at my house as a home visit. It's very clearly states that....

This is giving me a tummy ache....

I will be at my home awaiting the nurse next week...

Good morning everyone from a cold but sunny start here in the dark and dangerous north. A biting chill yesterday as we walked into town. We didn’t linger. Just a quick use of the council facilities and then walked back home. Heat pump pressure selling on the rise as govt move to get us to spend money - how much?? Anyone got one installed? Will they work when there is no wind and the sun is on holliday? Will we again get a winter fuel allowance? I need to factor this into my new years Venn diagram of bewildering options. Life was so much easier - coal man came, you lit the fire, your washing was all grey, or Earl Grey if you were vair posh. Art bit - changing direction. Have a good third day. My koffy is ready.

6.0 this morning.
Was as warm as toast on the early walk with Poppy. With the temperature below freezing I wore my thermal base layers and knee high leather non-slip boots for the first time this winter.

People are so kind. One of my long time class members has had health issues and cannot drive now -
so two class members have offered to take turns driving her to the class.

It is bitter here....
Great Art Bit @dunelm

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were a surprising 6.4

Hopefully attached should be Mrs J’s latest artwork, these are adult paint by numbers and incredibly complex.
This piece has taken a long time to complete due to Mrs J having to drive me to various medical appointments and visiting me when I had short break staying in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, thankfully and hopefully this episode is history. Also Christmas helped with the delay in completing this latest artwork.

Neither Mrs J and myself like this artwork and one of Mrs J’s fiends who likes it is now in possession of it, its fate is to be framed and hung.

Stay safe, stay warm all.IMG_0263.jpeg

Afternoon all.
Hopefully attached is one of Mrs J’s blank canvases as it comes out of the package and if you look closely it is just about the see the outlines of the colours.

The Welsh mug is to give an idea of size, the canvas will need ironing and the small picture is an idea of what the final artwork should look like.

Good afternoon all on a day which is distinctly not my kind of day. Once, walking dogs over the icy fens before watching cricket from, say India. was wonderful, now it is just inconveniently cold. Too many layers, too much heating needed. Central heating is a convenient but cheerless form of heating. I can give thanks to God for the time with JKP, my boys and grandchildren but it is dishonest to pretend this is no more than a pale reflection of even times past, never mind the future life God promises. LC food fits squarely into that framework. I'm thankful, if more than a little sceptical, it may well have stopped my T2 causing untold damage - weight loss (surely no one can eat much of this stuff and stay inside a keto carb budget?) and exercise seem more likely but as a way of eating it is often more Dementor's kiss than joy. Salmon salad today so joy wins. Adam and Eve weren't forced out of Eden for eating too many carbs. I really don't see God saying I've created cabbage casserole and chaffles, I can do more now. I'll just rest. . @Krystyna23040 your dog walk sounds wonderful., even without a huge mug of tea and cricket afterwards. @dunelm and @gennepher thank you for sharing your art. @alf_Josiah do pass on my thanks to Mrs A J for sharing her art. @SlimLizzy happy New Year to you too. Basically I could just have said how do we mange the tension between the now and the not yet? Despite all that enjoy Friday.
