What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Some power outages in your patch @gennepher?
Keep the candles handy!
behave you lot!
Thanks @Lamont D I have the beanie hat with a torch in the front, on my head. I have a flask of tea. I have the black 'electric' fur blanket....
I hope you are okay...

I fell asleep writing this...was replying last night....just woke up now still holding the phone....

I have just had a nightmare so I'm well awake.
It is one that repeats. From a real event...
It was from where I was stalked for many years.
The nightmare always begins in the road, or I might be above as if I am a drone.
The man who stalked me lived next door to me. It was a semi-detached house.
Each nightmare is a new event.
I can vividly remember every one of my nightmares on this. They come back with each new nightmare.

I am standing in the road it is eerily dark and sinister, although it is daytime. These houses are Edwardian houses with pseudo wood black panelling and white plasterboard. It has been a small gated cul-de-sac, the houses all built by a great aunt of the man who stalked me.
In my nightmare it was dark and sinister and all the houses were painted black at the front the whole of the front of the houses, the doors, everything. Some/all of the houses have the doors boarded up and that was all painted black as well.
My house was boarded up, all painted black just like the others.

The only one house which had the door open was the man who stalked me. There was light from a yellow electric light bulb coming through the open door, which is right next to the front door of my house. It had been smashed open and there was wreckage in the hallway.

I walked past to the next house which was the first house in the road. In front of this house by the pavement was a white porcelain sink which had running water and 'invited' me to use it.
I turned on the tap and wash my hands, but the sink drain was blocked and the water did not go down the drain hole.

There was much more to this nightmare.

I woke up and I had to make a hasty trip to the bathroom. My heart was pounding but yet it wasn't. It was like a very low level pounding in my whole body.

The cat (Midnight) vanished, and I prayed that was not screaming or anything as I woke up, but no police arrived so hopefully I was not.

When I get one of these nightmares, although this was the strangest one in one yet as in the houses all being boarded up and painted a dull black, I check GRO deaths. And there are a few other things I check as well. I will never be free until I see a GRO death certificate.

He was arrested in a police raid, and I came back home just after it happened. I was in my car. And my house had that tape across everything as well as his house.

There was a press photographer there intent on taking photos of the stalker's house, and the police coming in and out, who did not realise I was part of this. The detective amongst the group of detectives who had been using my house for surveillance on the stalker the past few months, signalled me from his car to wait. Several of them came to my car door, told me to keep my head down, and got me in my house before the photographer realised anything.

There is more to this, but it would only take you seconds to find out if I gave any more detail.

I thought my ordeal was over. But it wasn't, it carried on and followed me here.

That cul-de-sac was full of secrets. Which I learnt from two of the older residents. One of them was bedridden and used to command me to go and listen to her for an afternoon, and then when she was tired I was dismissed. The other resident who appeared to be her arch enemy, neither of them spoke to each other, gave me a different side of the stories....

The stalker was taken away, and locked up. He was not locked away for long enough and is now living back in his old house next to mine.
So when I was informed he was out, I then checked periodically, that he was still living there, and the GRO death register.

Oh @gennepher

What a horrendous sounding dream .

Made all the worse by the underlying tale of what really happened.

How you and others who have had such experiences where the perpetrators of such deeds go to jail, learn to cope again after the shock when you hear the culprit has been released, I don't know.

I'm sure for the majority it's time served , lesson learnt ....and they are the ones looking over their shoulder trying to stay on the right side of the law to avoid another spell inside .

But I do understand the worrying "what if" that that must still cause to surface, wanted or unwanted .

I hope you can find a little more peace in the rest of today.

Thank you @jjraak
But unfortunately in this case, it is not time served, lesson learnt. The whole thing is very complex.

Thanks for your wishes...

Good morning everyone on a calm after the blowout start here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.6 this am. Indoor activities programme yesterday. I finished reading a book and even started inroads into another. Did a bit of painting and had a go with a postcard size watercolour paper block recently purchased. Mrs Miggins on the other hand painted the walls and ceiling in the kitchen. Well, that’s what she said. Same colour. Just refreshing the decor. I think she just got all the paraphernalia out and then sat in the kitchen listening to the radio and slurping tea. Schrödinger’s paint job! Once the wind had decided to calm down we walked into town for an early dinner. Walking back, looking at constellations once out from under the glare of street lamps. No plans for today but happy to participate in anything that does not involve juggling meat cleavers on a unicycle dressed as Mary Queen of Scots. Burns Night supper tonight with friends at a local event. Mrs Miggins has already dug out her kilt and matching waistcoat - ancient hunting pattern I am told. Art bit - woops! That’s a lot of Paynes Grey! Hope your events today are pleasant ones. I am going to carry out some scientific research on the dark matter that glues together the universe - drinking koffy.

You have definitely gone Payne's Grey mad @dunelm, but I love your painting!!!

Just checked my Heart Rate Variability. It is 52%. On the lower end of normal and that apparently is indicative of future health problems.
I need to know how to improve that. I will research that this morning.
On the plus side, my resting pulse is 60. But my pulse often can be low.
My blood glucose if you can call it that because I was awake and then I had a nap, is 10.1
And I ate healthy for my diabetes yesterday

I'll pop my creative in later...

I need to feed the beasties now...

Morning all from a bright and calm start here which is in stark contrast to poor @gennepher's night and some health metrics. Hugs, thoughts and prayers seem totally inadequate, as is the current full force of the law it seems. I hope the process of either making or simply sharing a creative somehow gives you peace. @dunelm a fascinating post which would doubtless provoke beard scratching and endless hmm, could you just unpack the use of (insert word or phrase of choice ) for me. Quite a bleak piece for me today - not even a thrush :D - must be that pot of grey: good job you didn't use the other 49 shades. Judging by Genn's approval this piece, as indeed is the whole series, is technically accomplished. My visual palate has been ruined sir, I tell you ruined by too much ultra-processed art:my bad. Enjoy the Burns night celebrations. We have haggis and the usual "sides" but no piper. Obviously not an LC adjacent meal but I don't have the bandwith today to even try to pretend I can make this way of eating deliver all of pleasure, nutrition and bg control. Spoiler alert, I'm pretty sure that originates from the same school of somewhere over the rainbow thinking as Bazball and Angeball. After all that do enjoy your Saturday :playful:

Okay...done my creative. It is a kaleidoscope with the app Laboscope. It is a random shot of my kitchen and the plugs are from my liquidiser soup maker.
I cannot see any unseen things in here, but I have no doubt that @jjraak will find something!

I have just decided I want new curtains, these have been up nearly the last 20 years, and they are a bit... dusty? I did notice the continence nurse sniffing in their direction. I did have a sniff after she left...maybe they are dusty.. .Febreze did not help!

Somehow, I have to figure out how to get new curtains up... and get the old ones down.

I'll get new ones first and then figure it out... it is just 1 long window of curtains, which are right up to the ceiling in the front room. All the others I can reach from just standing in front of them, and they are by doors that open to outside. So I presume the dust has blown off those.....

Have your best day.

Thank you for sharing the wonderful creative which I hope proved helpful in reorientng the day towards a more calming place. I've no idea what @jjraak will see but there's certainly plenty of scope there including Siamese cats with ear muffs, centipedes and the Mekon - no Dan Dare though. :D
