Smashing sketch with all that movement. Our resident pair of blackbirds follow us round the garden, especially if there is watering going on to soften the ground. Downside is that they then insist on digging up and throwing mulch about and sometimes uproot bulbs. What fun!
Thanks @dunelm
They are really great to watch...

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: What a way to start the day! As I was crabbing my way through to the kitchen from my bedroom, I reminded myself that I needed a new cartridge in my basal insulin pen. That's when I realised that I might have thrown the pen in the rubbish bin in an "senior" moment (they happen more often these days). I wasn't sure but kind of remembered throwing a pen of some sort out and it wasn't the Humalog one - that went out the day before. So before anything else I had to empty out the kitchen bin, hoping that it hadn't gone out in the previous bag and been picked up by the bin lorry at lunch time yesterday. Neil came to help and, with his sharper eyes, saw it. It was sticky with something that had been dropped in on top of it, :arghh: but it was there. So then, washing of the pen, discarding of the cartridge, wash the lid, wash the hands, put in the new cartridge, put on the new needle and I was ready to make a start to the day. Eyes were still not working, so it was difficult to see what I was doing, but I managed.

BG at that point was 8.6. Pain killers, insulin, coffee (I needed it by then) and it rose to 9.5. Just now - who knows?

Sympathies for the start of your day @Annb

My senior moment yesterday was cracking the egg throwing the egg in the waste bin and the shell in the frying pan... unfortunately, it was not possible to retrieve a broken egg...yolk and white from the waste bin... unfortunately I did it a second time so I gave up with eggs for breakfast yesterday before I wasted any more... I was concentrating so hard on doing the correct action....

Bread and butter and meat paste was my breakfast yesterday… There is nothing you can do wrong with that… Is there?

I woke up this morning to painful ankles. They felt like I've been dancing Scottish jigs all night. I remember my dreams and they did not include any Scottish jigs. I have no idea why, but they were too painful to put my feet down, and my weight on them. I put some of the pain patches on them, my ankles, and took some painkillers. Couple hours later and none of that made a blind bit of difference to the pain in my ankles.

So I am trying to find my ankle boot supports now. Or else it's sitting in bed.

Here is my painting for today… my creative... done with Kuretake brush pens...the blue one is drying out...

Hope you have a great day.

I think I will have a wee nap before I start the day again...

Hug for the painful ankles, Gennepher. I hope it feels better when you wake up again. I often have something like that added to my knee and hip pain and it does make standing pretty difficult. Luckily, I have a desk chair with wheels and I can move around sitting in that. It still means using the feet, and arms to pull it around, but without the weight directly on top, it is less painful.

Good morning all. fbs this morning was a surprising 7.8. Was this a one off or the start of an improving trend? Who knows. Today is one of those rare days without a medical appointment so I intend to relax and collect info ready for my diabetes appointment on Friday. Hoping the phlebotomist manages to obtain my blood sample tomorrow without too much discomfort. My husband has gone for his bicycle group ride for the first time since his chest infection then has a dental appointment this afternoon so I have the house to myself for part of today. It is 8 weeks today since my biopsies so I may try and ring the dermatology department again to see if there is any feedback. Best wishes to you all. :)

Enjoy your peaceful day @dogslife ... I hope the Sun is shining for you. It looks a little more cheerful if outside has blue skies and the sun even though I'm sitting indoors....

BG down to 6.5 now - I took a large bolus dose and had a very low carb breakfast (which is currently making me feel very nauseous). The amount I took should have dropped my BG into the 4's or even 3's, but so far hasn't done so. Definitely something odd going on.

Alistair has just been in and tells me that Em seems to have some kind of bug so is off school. Maybe it wasn't the breakfast that upset my tum after all.

6.6 this morning.
Busy day today, but not over busy. Have decided that teaching 4 classes and one 1:1 plus an hour and a half admin is as much as I will do on a Wednesday. Never again will I shoe horn in extra 1:1s.

Perhaps, at long last, I am being sensible and am accepting that I am no longer Wonder Woman.

It actually feels good to be sensible.

Good morning everyone on a cold and overcast start to VE80. We have a flag in the front garden - and why not.
5.9 this a.m.
Bin lorry has been and gone. Bits of detritus recovered from their wake and now our bin is already taking in rubbish.
Mrs Miggins at the opticians inside a large ASDA store several miles away this morning. I shall go with her and wander round the store while she busies herself choosing frames, dropping odd items into random trollies and ask staff for the whereabouts of odd exotic items.
We plan to go for lunch afterwards where they are offering 25% discount on the production of Veterans ID cards.
Art bit - some poppies. I shall be thinking about an uncle of mine today who missed out on VE Day as he was still engaged with the Japanese in Burma. A lovely man who taught us all to swim.
I hope that your day includes some joy mine has already been filled with the smell of koffy and the stretching exercises gained by hanging out the washing.

BG in the 10's - 10.7 when I woke up. It's a puzzle.

Legs day today. Looks to be bright and warm outside, though I haven't poked my nose out yet.

Didn't get to sleep until about 02.00 and woke up again, seriously sore, at 04.00. Did get back to sleep (in the chair) about 05.00, after taking pain killers and slept until 06.20. I daresay I will sleep again when I get back from town.

Good morning all. Fbs this morning was 13.4! :arghh: Why? I do seem to have a digestive upset too but don't know why that is either. Feeling disappointed after yesterday's improved score. :( Blood test later today but not including HbA1c as I had that in March. Oh well onwards and upwards as they say. I wish you all a good VE day. My mum and Dad met for the first time on VE Day 1945 at a street party.

My right leg has been painful for several days in the calf area especially when I stand on it or when I step and walk co-codamol doesn’t seem to help much and neither has the whole tube of voltarol that I have used just have to hope it goes off soon.
An uncle of Judith’s also missed out on VE Day as he was in a Japanese POW camp having been taken prisoner when Singapore fell.
Strangely my father spoke little of VE Day I think he must have been at sea that day.

Hug for the BG. Sometimes these things can't be explained. Hope the blood test goes well.

Hug for the pain. Pains are bad but worse when they affect your legs because you can't walk without your legs. I hope it improves soon, John.

Thank you@Annb. The phlebotomist was very good. At first she said my arm was badly bruised from the earlier attempts two days ago and I might have to make another appointment when it had healed. She couldn't find a vessel in my other arm, nobody ever has, but after one unsuccessful attempt she used a much finer needle and successfully obtained the two files of blood. I expected that she would do a good job as she always has in the past. So just my 2nd diabetes appointment tomorrow to prepare my info for. Have a good day and don't work too hard! :)
