Good aftenoon everyone of a wonderfully sunny and blustery get yer washing out Mrs Worthington sort of day here in the dark and dangerous north.

No idea of readings today after a jack-in-the-bed night of increased pace count to the detriment of any decent REM sleep. Everybody hurts but it’s not the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine!).

Out this afternoon with the poppy making gang - making some sort of display for next weekend. Mrs Miggins received a fancy poppy shirt in the post today enclosed in this months letter from America. We do still have some unbrainwashed friends there who have not been ICE’d - Alistair Cooke’s broadcasts would be interesting in these strange days.

Our today is turning out to be a lazy one so a blustery walk into town will hopefully gee us up. Another kofee might be in order.

Sorry to hear of your poor sleep but I very much enjoyed the REM references. Were your nocturnal movements automatic for the people? I also liked the Alistair Cooke references. When you find the time I have just finished listening/watching this which you may enjoy - or not, obviously. They don't make 'em like this anymore. @gennepher sorry I can't find any captions and even then the voices are a major part of the experience. Good man for joining the poppy making gang.

My day did not go as planned. I went to collect my Amazon parcels and someone, some idiot within the post office had not plugged in the Amazon phone in during the night. Would you come back the lady says...

And the rest of my morning went a bit wrong as well... so when I finally returned and got my parcels and got back home, just wanted to sleep and sleep, and I've done nothing today. That's not quite true, but I haven't done what I wanted to achieve....

Tomorrow is a new day...

I don’t know about automatic but not much sleep for the sidewinder. Got to love Pete and Dud - it’s all cod’s udders as they say but highly entertaining.

Church yard now covered in poppies, row on row and also the area surrounding the memorial. Poppy gang was joined by TGITB who was crowned zip tie queen of the night even without the flute.

@ianpspurs I found some captions, but they did not make sense to me, and so I used some speech to text app on my phone and it came up with a different set of words.... so I'm afraid I did not quite see the humour of that... I have never seen any captions of Dud & Pete in my life, so possibly I don't not understand the humour of it because I've not seen it before...sorry...
 
Morning all, after feeling like **** at work yesterday, I’ve dropped my Metformin back to one in the morning and one in the evening, rather than 2 in the evening as it looking like my levels are coming down a little bit too quickly, it was 6.6 at 12.30pm and that was an hour afterwards I’d eaten a very carb and sugar heavy cookie and I’ll contact my doctors on Monday and see what they think,
This mornings FBS is 9.9,
Hopefully I get a repeat of yesterday
 
Morning all on All Souls Day 2025. So many wonderful memories of loved ones tinged with sadness at the empty seats. Also the missing posters this year. RIP John E Green. These tents are apt to decay. Fbg of 4.6. It may seem trite but its okay not to be ok sometimes: spoiler alert, those 24/7, 365 "best lives" all over "social" are hokum. Have as good a day as circumstances honestly allow. This peanut butter won't eat itself - six seven.

7.9 sitting on the side of my bed at 05.20 but 8.1 by the time I got through to the kitchen.

Pills, tea but nothing to eat until about 13.00 when I had some watermelon. Must do something about food and fluids (been busy cooking main meals and tidying up all day so far). Recently I've been very forgetful of taking drinks after the first 2 or 3 of the day and it's noticeable that I'm getting dehydrated. Slap the wrist!

I was every luck this week and was given theses marvellous gifts, which I will hopefully attach.

My blood sugars are still in the land of hospitals and out of my control.
Another thing of annoyance are barking dogs and fireworks not on bonfire night.
Moaning finished.

My post decided to post itself before I finished typing.

This came up on facebook and I really liked it I am not sure if the link will work as I am not very tekkie.

It is a flash mob cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, featuring vocals from a Sunderland singer Mickey Callisto and filmed in Paris. The,11 year old guitarist Olly Pearson was amazing.

The BBC reports that the stunt, which was filmed in July, shows people going about their to daily lives in the Place de la Contrescarpe before 30 musicians "surprise" locals with the song.

Almost 04.00 when I got myself upright in bed this morning. Libre was nagging at me that BG was high, but then refused to give me a reading (battery too low) so I assume 8.1 - that's when it usually gives a warning. 6.5 by the time I got to the kitchen and plugged it in to recharge.

Flu and Covid jabs today at 09.24. I know they try to be precise on these timings, but they're not bothered if you turn up early, so it seems a bit odd to be given such a precise time. Anyhow, it gets it over early in the day.

Windy and still wet here this morning. Doesn't look that pleasant out there. Never mind, it's fine inside the car.

There's a funeral service at 11.00 today in Orkney, which of course, I can't go to. Actually, I didn't know the lady very well, but I do know her husband and I would like to attend. The funeral director has a website and will live-stream the service so I'll see if I can make that work.

Had a discussion with my daughter in Australia about the retail park giving me a PCN. She thinks I ought to start discussions with Horizon and the owner of the retail park for extensions for disabled people.. I agree with her and I was thinking along those lines anyway. Anyway, we got some addresses and I will tackle that later this week. But all of this takes a lot of time and brain energy which I'm not sure I have at the moment....

I just feel like sleeping today, but I need to get on with sorting and cleaning and throwing out. Plenty of rests are scheduled for during the day.... I might not get much done.... I think I will go back to sleep and then see how I feel when I wake up...

Good morning everyone on a bluster, wet start here in the dark and dangerous north. Contrast with yesterday when it was all calm and sunny on the lower prom and a pensioners portion of chish and fips may have been shared.

5.8 this a.m.

First day back at school from half term and joy of joys, there is a power cut. So, GITB is with us today and busy at the moment with poster paints and experimenting with some of grandads masking fluid - happy days!

Mrs Miggins’ twin sister has just turned up to help move a bed - a new boiler is due to be fitted on Thursday so why not get a new radiator fitted in one of the bedrooms at the same time. I thought that radiators lasted several generations of lifetimes but allegedly not.What a fool!! Should have brought the cast iron ones with us when me moved.

Hope your day includes hot beverages. Must go and make another koffy.
 
Morning all from a dreary L.A. where my fbg was 4.6 when I checked at 8.30 and bg is now, 11.00 am, 5.0 after various tasks and some tea. @dunelm busy day ahead but TGIB will sweeten the pill of the expenditure. My day will definitely include hot beverages. JKP had to collect 2 grandchildren from near Ely as mum and dad forgot today was a teacher training day. Weren't these Baker Days back in the day? @alf_Josiah two wonderful presents, enjoy. @Krystyna23040 yesterday sounds lovely for you, your sister, Bonnie and Lexi. How is Mr K? @gennepher thank you for sharing another of those splendid pieces from your sketchbook. The plan to try to come to an agreement to give disabled people an extension on the parking time seems perfectly equitable. @Annb I hope the jabs go well and the live stream works for you. I must help the nation deal with the peanut butter and Jarlsberg cheese mountain very soon. Thoughts and prayers for all finding today's commute or work on UK transport extra stressful and for the brave man who put himself in harm's way on Saturday.

Got back from getting my jabs and promptly fell asleep in the chair. Woke up at 11.35 - missed the funeral service! Idiot!

I'm calling myself idiot for all sorts of things these days - beginning to wonder about my progress towards dementia. But, I suppose, if I am aware of it, it can't be too bad yet. I forget things, I sleep in the day, off and on, I fumble things, I wobble when I try to walk. Are these all signs, I ask myself. "Don't know" myself answers with a shrug. Not sure I can do anything about it anyway - except apologise to Neil in advance.
