What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Aw, sorry to hear that.

Any illness etc this time of year just adds to the misery of cold winter nights.

I had my flu jab other day so I'm also a bit under the weather.

A good reminder to begin making real ginger tea again.

Lifelong asthmatic.

Began using ginger tea just after dx for t2d.

Surprising how well it kept me cold free since I started.

Used to run a cough/cold/whatever from Oct to the next march .

Since changing diet and ginger tea the asthma eased considerably.

And even though I fell off the wagon (off the wagon , by a cliff, just by a huge waterfall it seems at times.)

My asthma and breathing are still helped by the daily winter doses of ginger tea.

Hope you get back to better health asap.

Ink drawing...

I found some different paper. These are postcards size pieces of paper which is much better and did not tear like yesterday's paper. There is more paper somewhere, but I can't find it yet....

I really needed my water mister, but still can't find it...

Anyway, this is my second drawing attempt over two days....

They have done something with this site. Instead of it being so awkward to get into every day for months now,, saying the page didn't exist and I have to refresh the page etc, this site finally came up a normal functioning page and I just sailed straight to this thread....and no oops message today....

Good night
Sweet dreams

And finally the uploader works...please may this continue...

The kindle fire seems to switch it off completely. Actually I have switched it back on again as I realised that it is useful to have suggestions in the blank suggestion line @gennepher
I too have ended up turning it back on again @Krystyna23040
I agree, it is useful having suggestions in the blank suggestion box... we shall just have to check for 8 idiots kisses (this is what it did with the word 'idiosyncrasies' !!!) for want of a better word before we post....

Good morning everyone from somewhere between York and London on the lollipop express!
5.7 this a.m.

Berlin was smashing. Cold, but smashing.
No idea how many Christmas markets there are in Berlin but we visited seven, some so much more interesting than others but still selling similar tat. Apart from one stall selling boomerangs of all things! A change though from those traditional Christmas Tibetan prayer bowls seen at the Christmas market in Birmingham a couple of year ago.
Mrs Miggins was very restrained and only bought two tiny wooden tree decorations at €1 each and €5 on a bauble.
Train to Spandau on Sunday and a visit to the citadel before the obligatory wander round that particular market.

Now back and on a train down to London for a couple of days. Wonder when I will be getting back to my art. Never mind.

Hope your day goes well.

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen.
My hospital driven blood sugars were approximately 11 earlier, my insulin levels are dictated by the hospital, the hospital want me running high. Which and why I know not and do not like.
Mrs J has completed a painting, waiting for me to post.

I hope you all have a good day, remember a smile costs nothing and could possibly stop someone doing something silly. I know, because I was there, brightening a girls day.

7.5 at 03.20 today. I was awake at about 01.45 when my hips started nagging me to move but I successfully ignored it and dozed off again. However, by 03.00 I couldn't ignore it any more. Better after painkillers and a cup of tea so managed to doze a bit in the chair.

Washed and dressed by 07.00 and busy making a lemon drizzle cake (potential visitor today). So, if the lady does come, I will be able to offer a cup of tea and a piece of cake.

Xmas card...
I saw my friend today and I realised I did not have a Christmas card for her. So I made one this morning.....

She loves making jigsaw puzzles, so I bought some for her Christmas present...
We don't normally swap Christmas presents. It is just birthday presents we do, but I know she loves doing jigsaw puzzles and she can't always find them...
To my surprise, she's presented me with a Christmas present... it is an absolutely gorgeous warm furry throw, with foxes and deer on it... and I have promised myself as soon as I finish my bedroom, I can put it on my bed... so that's my incentive to finish tidying and sorting my bedroom...

In the meantime, I've been sleeping the last few hours and I have just woken up in time to go to bed!

So night night from me...
Sweet dreams.

Alas this site's uploader is broken again after working yesterday :(
So here is a link to the Christmas card...

The lemon drizzle cake went down very well. I gave the rest to Alistair to avoid temptation. If anyone comes in today, they will have to make do with a couple of digestive biscuits - bought in today's shopping.

BG 6.4 at 03.40 today. Been up and down a bit, but not too far. Currently 4.5 - must keep an eye on that in case it goes down too far.

Legs duly rebandaged today but this time the nurse noticed a scabbed over lesion on my shin and put a dressing on it. I hadn't noticed it although I could feel it when she touched it. Anyway, she wanted to put some cream on it but apparently she only has two available. One has honey in it (can't use that on diabetics) the other - can't remember what it was called - can't be used on someone with kidney problems. I hadn't realised that either would be a problem, so there's something new that I've learned. Must check the various potions around the house to see if any of them are unsuitable for diabetics. Anyhow, it has scabbed over, whatever it was, and obviously is healing itself without any cream being put onto it.

Midnight asleep on me, with one eye open...

The length of this cat (minus tail!) is longer than my legs...I do not need an electric blanket...

I had planned on doing some more Christmas cards today, but was sorting in my bedroom instead...

Now I am knackered...

Goodnight..

Sweet dreams...

8.0 at 03.20 today. Still hanging about around the upper 7's and 8's.

I've been trying to get into the My Gov account that I set up ages ago, but of course, I can't remember my password. Never have managed to get into it in all this time - I just kind of gave up. I'm just waiting to get an e-mail with a temporary password to see if I can actually get into it this time.

EDIT: Nope. No luck. I can get into the MyGov website, but not into medical information because I am in Scotland, not England. There doesn't appear to be anything for access to Scottish services - oh no I'm wrong, there is a link to NHS Tayside. Not much help to me. It does give me information from the My Diabetes site, but only whether I have accessed it, not what was there. This is all because I had a text message last night from the dentist to ask me to fill in a form on the website b efore I go for my appointment today. Well - too bad, I can't do it. Not wasting any more time on it. I'm sure they won't refuse to give me my new false teeth as a result. If they do, they won't get my £200. It's embarrassing though - the 2 receptionists at the dentist's surgery are my ex-students, to whom I taught the use of technology in offices.

5.5 this morning.

Mr K's op was successful. He is being sensible and resting today. It is a bit more uncomfortable now that the anaesthetic has worn off so had started taking the painkillers the hospital gave him.
Best wishes to Mr K and glad to hear that his op went well and he is now recovering. It will be sore for a bit, but it's all up from now on.

I too have ended up turning it back on again @Krystyna23040

Yes @gennepher - the checking before we post is vital. Hopefully I remember to do It

Wonderful news on the op being a success. Possibly equally good news on him taking the painkillers. Looking forward to reading of a full recovery. Best wishes to you both.

My two ex-students were quite understanding about my ineptitude. I had my new teeth fitted and they are fine but the total cost was £30 more than they quoted me. Never mind, I have them now and they feel much more substantial than the old ones. They took ages to come back from the mainland but it turns out that they were sitting at the Dental Centre on Barra for a while, having been wrongly sent there. The dentist was panicking a bit when they disappeared but was highly delighted when a little box came to them from Barra saying "I think this may be yours."
