What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all.

A few days missed.....because I forget :banghead:

7.2 7.1 6.7....yeehaw...7.8..perleeze..:dead:

A busy little weekend/week.

A slow stroll at Richmond ended with a rather nice pic, I thought of the sun going down.

Usually a holiday thing for madame, have to say the home one looks good, too .

Hello all. Late post but fbs this morning was 11.0. I had an unpleasant episode last evening. We were sitting in the local theatre listening to Matt Ford when I suddenly felt really hot and my heart felt as though it was racing. I checked my watch and it said my pulse was 121. It stayed that way for a while. At the interval my hands were shaking. It felt like a hypo so I checked my blood sugars and they were 18.9! I drank a bottle of water and did some deep breathing to try and relax and after a while my pulse went down to 94. I got home and went straight to bed feeling exhausted. After taking my Gliclizide , Metformin and Linagliptin at breakfast time as advised by the specialist diabetes nurse last Friday I slept until 11am! I decided to go for our afternoon group walk and I think the fresh air, exercise and good company helped but it is a mystery what caused yesterday's episode. Best wishes to all especially those who are having a difficult time.I wish you all a peaceful night.
That sounds really alarming. It's something like happened to me a few weeks back when I ended up in A&E, They didn't find anything wrong and it calmed down after a while but I think it was the beginning of the later episode of severe inflammation of both stomach/bowel and arthritis which, on checking, turned out to include pneumonia. It took a course of antibiotics to calm it down. I'm not suggesting that what happened to you was the same thing, but it will be worth keeping your eyes open for other symptoms and, if you feel unsure, do talk to a doctor.

I do hope you feel more comfortable soon.

Morning all from a sunshiny L.A. where I only need 786 layers :woot: Fbg was 4.4 this morning continuing yesterday's pattern of mid 4s. I felt I had a free hit with those levels so had some chips with the exciting, new to me, Keto calazone for evening meal. My bg eventually rose to what is normal for non diabetics but there were other issues. Our air fryer ne marche pas, and the traditional oven may not have rendered the food to its best. Still, no one died and the new air fryers look even more spiffing. @dogslife hug for that unpleasant event. @jjraak lovely photo, thank you for sharing. Do be careful taking and sharing photos of the back of cars in parks, could be dogged by problems:D Enjoy Wednesday your own way - I may try a fruited hot cross bun - of the this is not just food genus - for scientific purposes obviously:angelic:

Cheers @Jaylee

My bad, I should have thought of that myself

Appreciated the edit .

@Antje77 trying to give you the recipe for tomato sauce on the "What Have You Eaten...." forum but it won't let me post. I'll leave it for a bit and try again. First to see if I can post here.
Thank you, and no hurry, I have more than a week left before my birthday.
Utterly annoying when the forum doesn't want to do the thing you want it to do!

They have never stopped investigating. Yesterday chest xray, heart ultrasound, and ECG. Plus others. He has a consultant surgeon from London who describes Son2 as "a fascinating case "
and wants to do a heart biopsy. This would extract a piece about half the size of a grain of rice and examining this piece of tissue should enable the surgeon to give a definite diagnosis. Son2, now awake, has to give permission and is reluctant.
Cant remember if I mentioned that he had a pacemaker fitted the day before he woke up.
Yesterday he was moved from ICU to HDU. Progress.
They are really doing their very best to find out what is going on. It is so good to hear that your son is making good progress and that the doctors are taking such good care of him.

Interesting about the vest.

I always felt sorry for any pets in such come contraption, needed tho they might be.
My other dogs absolutely hated wearing a cone, so I was so happy to have an alternative. I expected that Bonnie would have chewed the surgical recovery suit to pieces but she seems to enjoy wearing it and hasn't even attempted to chew it.

Thank you Ian. Unfortunately today has brought a setback, Son2 had another collapse while the surgeon was discussing the heart biopsy. So he is back into bed. More investigating and monitoring. Great disappointment all round.
Of course we were told to expect setbacks, but it's hard when it happens
Have just read your post about the setback. I do hope he has been a lot better today

Turns out that the problems I was having with the forum (and other websites) a few days ago, was my own fault. My PC has two little aerials which connect to the wifi and one of them had been pushed to the side. It never occurred to me to check that. I have now reorganised my desk so that I can see the aerials and it's all working well again.

Morning all from a dull start here in L.A. Total contrast to yesterday's sunshiny weather. More layers needed so it is fortunate my spiffing new Aztec cardigan arrived 5 days earlier than the email suggested. Fbg was 4.6 according to this sensor which does seem to be giving suspiciously low readings. - struggles to go into the 5s most of the time. I ate a hot cross bun yesterday and the wiggly line never rose above 5.8 the whole 2 hours, nor did it rise after as some foods do. In previous years the rise has been steeper but has fallen back to starting point well within 2 hours although they were different brands. I prefer W to M and his mate S but O deliveries are much easier to obtain and JKP says they are less expensive. According to their websites the carb levels are similar. I will try sourdough bread toast as I know that should produce a steep rise and plateau for a while. The new air fryer arrives today - what jolly japes, eh chums? @Annb I hope leg day goes well and you rest afterwards. @Krystyna23040 you need to have stern words with yourself - but in private, definitely not in the centre of town :D I must go, Igor and Steve need some advice. Baz thinks he knows it all - I did offer,:D

I've heard from Gennepher! She's well and comfortable with her decision to pull back from the forum. She has no intention of coming back even though she did feel supported by folk here. The main thing is that she's well and battling on with her problems in her own way.
Do give our best wishes.

Respect her decision, but I hope she reconsiders at some point.

Her input is sorely missed.

She show us who don't have the inability to hear, just how difficult we, us hearing ones, can be, when we aren't educated by such people as our @gennepher in just how much our practices impact those with hearing difficulties.

I learned a lot from her, and it made me personally so aware of how poorly I used to interact.

She was a force for good
And I think many will miss the benefit from her tenacity and experiences.

I will definitely have stern words with myself in private @ianpspurs :)

11.8 at 03.00 today. This time I have no idea why. Taken insulin and it is now down to 10.1.

I've agreed to go to a party this afternoon/evening. That means that, for the 2nd day running, I can't take my diuretic pills (tut tut). That will also give me a difficult day on Saturday as my body makes up for lost time. I should have been firmer in my refusal to go today but there we are, I wasn't.
