Why bother with any one of the 3 main parties? They are all of an ilk and only a fag paper between the whole lot. Write to your local town hall/ civic centre to register for postal vote and next time you wish to use your vote why not try voting for an independent candidate for your local council ? And consider how best, for you, to use your vote in a General Election.

It seemed simple to me too as a kid until I read Orwells Animal farm and it kinda shed a new light on things...Kinda reminds me of David camerons "We're all in it together.." and a while later someone writing on the sign to add..."But some are more in it than others"

Hi, I was on benefits after being burnt in a Car fire and was told, whilst in bandages, suffering from ptss by one of the hitlerian, geriatric security staff that they "are fed up with malingerers like me" at which point I had a breakdown. Roll forward one year plus. I went on a staff recruitment thing for the ...DWP on computers etc. Half way through I was called out and the lady said face it mr you are unemployable.
The next time I was asked to attend the centre I told them if their security was there then they had better start running as they had put my recovery according to doctors, back about 2 years! I could still pack a god punch.
However, I get pxxxxd seeing lazy gits doing frig all and on the dole. Deliberately getting the sack from jobs, with over 3 children saying we cannot live on the amount we get. There ARE people who need assistance, however there are many many that are just on a gravy run.
I am now retired, however, if the DWP employed people like me to "sniff out" the lazy gits we would have less on the dole etc. Why, because we KNOW the situation. We KNOW who can work doing something full time. We do not NEED to be told. Most genuine people would actually love to be doing something. The lazy gits come out with excuses etc. Certainly there should be no child allowance for family's that increase if on the dole, nor an increased house size. They also should be given script not money, and also not be allowed to smoke. Make smoking or for that matter having drugs on them an immediate benefits suspension for a year.
I realise that these things need tweaking, however just ask a genuine disabled person, or should I say a person with some disabilities.
Scroungers I hope that you rot in hell, to the genuine disabled persons, I have compassion and know exactly where you are coming from.
Just a thought though, possibly the scroungers DO have a disability... they have had, or bear the signs of a full lobotomy.

you know what, this government has succeeded in making life hell for thous who claim. the ignorant, the stupid, the uninformed, the SHEEP who swallow all the crude this government spit's out about people who claim ANY type of benefit.

try researching, try NOT believing everything you here in the press and TV. it's called propaganda for a reason. there are NOT a high number who claim falsely. there are not enough jobs to go around (especially in rural areas)

I am SICK to the back teeth of being looked down on and being judged for something I was born with and have no control over. I tell you what you want to fix it, go ahead, be my guest.

STOP BEING JUDGE, JURY AND EXACUISHNER. STOP telling people your not looking hard enough, your scum, your attitude sucks, your just being pathetic, your problems are your own fault. bleah, bleah, bleah.

So your one of the lucky ones, congrats it doesn't mean you know anything about what it's like to be on JSA, ESA, any other type of benefit. you have no idea what it feels like to live in fear of the brown envelope, to panic because you know if you dont jump thru the hoops you will be left alone, hungry, with no electricity and possibly homeless.

My brother has been sancened for being late to three appoints the last six months, each time he has had to get written proof fromt he bus companies to state that it wasn't his fault, the bus had broken down (we live in the country, it happens ALLOT) he make it a point to go in an hour early. he's still been sanscend thou because he was late, he phoned in, explained, IT DIDN'T MATTER TO THEM.

I myself have to jump hoops, I have to prove yearly that my Epilepsy and other issue haven't suddenly gone away. my problems are long term.

I'm in Uni, i'm doing a degree in the hoops that I'll be able to work from home by contracting out to different companies. I have a plan, yet this government is doing it's **** best to screw me over.

stop being ignorant and go find some actual facts, not the crude the government and newspapers and TV stations spit out because most if it utter crude!

I'm sorry for ranting, I'm not sorry for the content. I was spat on the other day because of these attitudes and I have had it. enough is enough.

I am seriously concerned that your academic qualifications in reading and the writing of the English language may not only be holding you back, but precluding you from any action. Certainly as a/ a former person with disabilities requiring a pension, and that of being an employer before that, I would not be predisposed to employ you. Possibly incorrectly, I would see your inability to handle simple instructions as being restricted by your total inability to correctly format a piece of prose.
Having been a diabetic for 13 years, suffering from disabilities for even longer, been a boss, taught, I believe that I can sort one out from another.

Well just bear in mind who voted in this alliance of nasty wealthy people, and do vote next time round. It's apathy that gets the nasties in.
Feel for you Pixie.
Yes it is paid for by tax payers, its all propaganda anyway, the nasties aren't going to go after the billions that are filtered away by the rich. The are lining their own pockets before leaving the country in an even worse state than thatcher.

Just a wee thought, was not it the ex train workers union party (labour) that frigged up the system, is not it the current although far from perfect party that have dug us out. We need to definitely look at the system, and also this spare room thing, but do realise it only applies to them that pay nothing and put nothing in. That may sound hard. However to me a better bet would weekly blood test. Any drugs in their body means they are getting too much money so stop their benefits for say until they are clear of drugs. Also pay them in script, this to be used for food fuel etc. NOT cigarettes, alcohol and the like. I ran a business for years, had a serious accident, was taken the pxxs out of by by the waffen SS sorry DHSS, If a person has problems, they should be helped, if they are taking the proverbial, then they have to pay.

Spell checkers are not much use to Dyslexics (both my daughters are dyslexic) as they only tell you words that are spelt incorrectly. Threw is spelt correctly, it is just in the wrong context here.

Hi I am dyslexic and find it a great bit of kit, do not get me wrong, I still sometimes get brake for break and vice versa however reading the thing through after helps no end. Anyway, there is absolutely no excuse for no capitals, and totally incorrectly spelt words. The above prose was not the work of someone with dyslexia, but ... well I need not say it, however employ them I would not!

Customer helplines that use recorded menus that promise to put me through to the right person but never do - and being ill. Oh, and did I mention customer helplines :)
I totally agree with what you're saying but the thread was specifically about people on benefits and there is a huge amount of fraudulent claims. Even at your estimated Gov't figure of 1% ( I'd say this is very conservative BTW ), the benefit spend is approx £160billion, so 1% still a pretty penny.

Actually 1% of £160 million is £1.6 million which is exactly the same amount that the government pay ATOS to reduce the benefits bill. So where is the saving? All these reassessments do is to cause unbelievable stress to those who are most at risk in our so called society.
http://welfarenewsservice.com/atos-contracts-cost-taxpayers-nearly-1-6-billion/

The reality is that the number of benefit fraudsters is very very small indeed but its always easiest to go after the easy targets rather than the millionaires who pay nothing in tax on the millions they earn in the UK year in year out. Smoke and mirrors....

Benefit reassessment was first introduced by Labour before the last election and carried forward by the Tories so the fact is there is little to distinguish the two parties today they are equally as ineffective and inefficient as each other when it comes to government, collecting taxes and distributing of benefits to those who need them.

An awful lot.
Rin your tirade against Pixie tells me that you are a very ignorant person who prejudges people on a very shallow set of self values.
l very much doubt that even if offered a job with you Pixie would accept and if she did wouldn't stay with you for long. If someone is trying to better themselves then they should be applauded or helped and criticism directed with helpful advice. Not judged as being unworthy of any part in the human race. Though if you are a specimen of the human race, l am happy belonging to the sub species that Pixie belongs to.

Many regards

like the lady below stated. being dyslexic, it isn't that easy. I always use a spell checker but I don't always get it right, since I mentioned i was dyslexic, that should have been a bit of a give away.

I get great support from my Uni and I have a support tutor to help me with my coursework as well as speech and word programs to help.

Sadly I don't use them for everyday things like internet posting because it takes time to set them up and use them with the internet. they are for course work and thats what they are used for.

Do you think you're the first person to point this out to me. after 30 years you kind of get sick of it. i get help, my work is excellent, my grads are the second highest in my class and I manage this along with a butt ton of medical problems as well.

I think I'm doing **** well, a few spellings errors on the internet are NOT going to make me fail my course!
Question, how does the failure of spell checker come across with little letters at the beginning of a sentence.
If one does not use the very easy facility of red underlined right click for options then do not be too surprised if you are not asked to put trolleys away for Tesco. The probability is you will mix up types.
Habit is the key, drive all over the road, and you will do it on your test, failing to do it right means you will more than likely continue with your mistakes.

Think it's £1.6 Billion. A pretty penny. ATOS are a complete waste of space. Had dealings with them and farcical.

I think that some of the recent posts on here show that we need a dislike button.

Anyone heard of superiority complex?

Pixie,

Don't be deterred, you are welcome here and your spelling, format and punctuation does not matter. We know what you mean and we will support you.

i have to agree with MID i have re read what you said a few times and was trying to find a way of reading it as constructive criticism but it just seems like an attack to be honest (i hope I'm wrong) as you can see i don't use capitals and my letter i is always small lol but if you don't like it done like this i couldn't care aless lol, I'm very uneducated more due to my laziness I'm sure, so i have no intention of spending extra effort on grammar because it is effort for me, i tried for a while and spent longer going through my posts correcting the grammar than writing it in the first place, anyway thats my two penneth :) in conclusion @rinfrance BOOOOOOO!
