For all the people and things that we want to praise,

I nominate all the wonderful people here who have helped me today.
 
Brilliant.

If room 101 is all the things we dislike, and all the people we feel should be out of our lives, then 010 should be a gorgeous place. Where lovely people can relax and recharge, and drop in and out whenever they like.

So I'm installing a fantastic coffee machine, with unlimited supplies, and a hot tub. And sun loungers in case they don't like soaking in bubbles. And sun. And shade if they want.

And I volunteer to do a bit of waitressing, in my spare time, so they don't have to drip water between the espresso machine and their sun bed/tub seat
 
I would like the forward thinking specialists who are able to diagnose the different symptoms and give us a better life.

You could also add the chemists who come up with the drugs that help us.
 
My friend Jane, who will never read this, and wouldn't know it was about her, if she did.

One of the kindest, most giving people on the planet - and who actually believes she is perfectly ordinary. :woot:
 
My "beer-loving, macho food steak and potatoes guy" husband, who joined me in
my "diet" despite him hating veg,kale and salmon and who has always been very supportive. He hasn't had a drink whenever he's with me for dinner, always after, when I'm finished, which I appreciate. :)

I also would like to nominate the members in this forum for their valuable info, support and I learn everyday.

And also: Sunday brunch alongside a beachfront with a nice cup of coffee and healthy brekkie, sailing around the harbor and lakes, relaxing massages and facials, reading a nice book/magazine and long walks in the park or the beach with the dogs. Mani and pedi!:)
 
Parcel delivery people who email to say when they will arrive with the parcel. This is a long way from those days when they said that they may deliver any time on Mon-Fri between the hours of 0700-1900 and woe betide anyone who isn't in when they knock.
 
I would like to add our wonderful nurses .... for all the grotty chores that come under their job descriptions for minimal pay. Plus the emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) who risk their own lives on a daily basis in order to save others.
 
Sitting on my sun lounger, cup of frothy coffee in hand brought to me by @Brunneria bless her, how that dress stays up is a feat of engineering,
I have a list of people a mile long, way too long for here in one go, which includes but is not limited to Mr Satindoll, my rock, he who has stood by me through thick and thin, supported me through numerous illnesses and always with a smile and a gentle word of encouragement, no he isn't perfect by any means, yes there are times when I could knock his block off, but his good points far out way the niggley bits, and lets be honest I'm no saint either
 
Well this morning, I'd like to thank the man who came to empty our fosse septique. He did what I think is a horrid job on time (not typical in France) and efficiently.
(and I'd like to thank other half for digging it out , uncovering and recovering it, without destroying the plants growing on top)

I'd like to nominate all those researchers working in university labs all over the world who are expanding our knowledge of the workings of the human body and disease mechanisms . Most have insecure temporary positions , depend on the availability of funding. I suspect very few are in it for the money as pay isn't high in most places.
I'd especially like to thank those who sequenced the human genome and those researchers in the field of human genetics who make their data and findings totally accessible to everyone, so that it can be used by fellow scientists and viewed by the public ,

I have been blessed with wonderful MIL, they taught me to mind my own business, offer advice if and when asked, keep my mouth shut unless it was a dangerous situation, and to tell my SIL and DIL what a wonderful job they are doing and how much I appreciate their kindness to my sons/daughters. and as long as they continue to keep my offspring happy what more could I ask.
 
People who actually read the sign that says "Please wait a few minuets as a tortoise walks faster than me" and are still there when I get to open the door.
 
@satindoll and @noblehead and anyone else who takes on a rescue dog. The dogs are often not the prettiest or best behaved, but they only want kindness.

Not taken one on yet Pipp but will do in the future.

This is a good thread, I would like to praise the HCP's who go far & beyond than they need to do to care for the patients under their supervision, also people who work tirelessly to find a cure or prevent conditions and diseases like cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

Not forgetting people who carry out charity work for the good of humans and animals, without these remarkable people so many would suffer. Lastly but not least, family and friends who love and friendship mean so much :)
 
Those who love me even though they know me.
 
The guy who makes deliveries, once a week, at work.
He's friendly, helpful, goes above and beyond - and never fails to make me smile.
And I stand beside him in a small lift, every week, with absolutely none of that physical discomfort you can get standing inside a barely known man's personal space.

He definitely gets a good spot in 010.
