    HbA1c confused

Sorry I'm new to this board. I don't know what his hbA1c was when he was diagnosed. The 46 was 4 months into his diagnosis. He was running on very high sugars when he was diagnosed and had ketones present. Sorry if I've annoyed anyone with my lack of understanding. We were confused with his...

    HbA1c confused

We were just thinking that the 42 was a little low considering we know he hasn't had great control because he's still learning how his body reacts to certain things. I just wanted to know if he 42 was a bit too low and a concern?

    HbA1c confused

Hello, Wondering if anybody could clarify this (whilst we away to hear from the DSN). My husband was diagnosed type 1 in January of this year. He had his first hbA1c in April and got 46 (pre-diabetic) which we put down to the honeymoon period. He's coping with his diabetes and using the...

    Suddenly high during the night

My husband is 7 months into his diagnosis of diabetes type 1. He's just started using the freestyle libre (amazing) but we've noticed his levels are going high in the evenings some times as high as 18 [emoji853] any advice? Thank you x

    Freestyle libra

Hi, my husband is trialling the freestyle libra. But the patch has fallen off - I think he sweat too much when exercising. Does anyone have experience of this and any advice of ways he can keep the patch on? He felt really positive about it so he's quite disheartened that it's fallen off. Thank you

    Yellow eyes

    Yellow eyes

Hello, this may seem somewhat of a depressing post but I am just after some advice. My husband is 31 years, fit and well but recently diagnosed with type 1 in January. Despite coming to terms with it and honeymooning he is coping well and now he's on insulin actually says he feels better than he...

    Illness and diabetes

My husband was recently diagnosed with type 1 in January. Last night he had several hypos and a severe case of diarrhoea. The diarrhoea meant he was unable to get his sugar levels up. We ended up having a paramedic come out who actually did nothing but sit with him and then wait for his levels...

Thank you so is my Hba1c too low? It's my first one as I was only diagnosed in January. The consultant seemed happy with it

    Hba1c

Thank you for all of your help. I understand I can't be prediabetic being type 1 but my Hba1c of 46 is good then?

    Hba1c

Thank you so what does it mean if my Hba1c is in the prediabetic range?

    Hba1c

Newly diagnosed in January. My first Hba1c was 46. What does this mean? I was told it was quite good and that the aim is for anywhere between 48 and 53? What does this all mean? At the minute I can't really carb count as I am honeymooning and my body is still producing insulin. There is no...

Is 5.2 too low to go to bed on?

So general consensus is that even though 5.2 is a good reading (for throughout the day) it's probably a bit low for just before bed!?

Is 5.2 too low to go to bed on?

Thank you - hehe I know it might sound a bit of a daft question but newly diagnosed and I know you shouldn't become too obsessed with the numbers but....!!! I was sure my DSN said he around 6 to go to bed but then I read you should aim for around the 5's! Thank you for your help x

Is 5.2 too low to go to bed on?

No insulin and levels were consistently at 5??

Only 6 weeks into diabetes so I know it could be the honeymoon period? I didn't take any insulin for a day with any meals and throughout the day my levels were consistently at around 5!! I had taken my long lasting the night before so obviously that was still in my system. I know this sounds a...
