I am a well controlled T2 ( diet and exercise ). My last 2 HbA1c tests were both 41 (down from over 50 a year ago). I’m doing LCHF and have had minimal carbs today. And yet....... just done a test at 4.30 and I’m at 8.4.......
I am T2 using diet and exercise only to control blood glucose. In the first 9 months from diagnosis I reduced my HbA1c from 48 to 43 and then 41. My most recent HbA1c was 41 again. This has been maintained by staying under 100g of carbs per day. I would obviously like to get it lower but feel...
Well, it’s been a real learning experience since my T2 diagnosis in Feb/Mar this year. This was a complete shock as I have never been above 10 stones in weight all my life (pregnancy excepted).
So -
HbA1c:
Feb over 50
March 48
July 43
October 41 - yay!
I have achieved this by following the...
I am diet only T2 trying and mostly succeeding to control BG with low carb (less than 50 g per day). BUT, I am struggling with frequent, low-grade headaches. Does anyone else have this issue?
It took this forum to steer me away from the advice currently being given to diabetics by the NHS. Attached is from page 6 of the booklet I received...........[emoji45]
Well, after eating minimal carbs for weeks, losing a few pounds, and having reasonably good BG readings after meals, I succumbed to half a marguerita pizza this evening. Now 3 hours later, my reading is 9.9 !
God, I’m so stupid..... ☹️
After T2 diagnosis in March, I have been trying to manage blood glucose by diet only. I have reduced carbs to less than 50g per day. I am losing weight and am now only 120 lbs (started off at 140) even though I don’t want to lose weight! The thing is though that my BG will not go below 9.6...
Yay, having been diagnosed T2 in Feb and opting initially for no meds just LCHF diet, I have had my first-ever post-prandial reading today of below 8.5...... 5.9 to be exact !!!!!!!!
Hi - the guidelines seem to say check BG levels 2 hours after eating? But mine are still high (11) at that stage. They do come down after about 3.5 hours though. Is this usual? Too long?
I’m fairly recently diagnosed (March) so not in a particular routine yet. And so far no meds, only diet...
I had a follow-up HbA1c last week after initial type 2 diagnosis in Feb. Down from 48 to 43 on diet alone. I have though weaned myself off beta blockers prescribed for migraine. Not all good news as I feel fuzzy headed a lot of the time and have woken up in the middle of the night with...
I’m a recently diagnosed type 2 . I have a history of migraine and have taken beta blockers (propanolol) for a couple of years. Does anyone know if beta blockers are a problem for diabetics? My GP didn’t seem too concerned......
