    Low Carb Low Fat?

Good point. I think the theory is to eat everything one would on LCHF but go for lower fat options. I guess that is why I'm asking the question.

    Low Carb Low Fat?

After a discussion on Twitter where I celebrated the effect of LCHF on my blood sugar, it was suggested that with a lot of weight to lose, a low carb LOW fat approach may be advisable. What do others thing? Is it wise? Might it work? Is it heresy?

T2s: What was your fasting BG this morning, and what did you eat yesterday?

I have woken to possibly my highest ever B.S. at 19.1.

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

7.5 (though some comfort is drawn from the fact it was over 12 at this point last week) even though there is a rise from 6.7 yesterday.

    Accu-chek strips and lancets

Any recommendations on where to buy supplies for my Accu-Chek Performa Nano? Boots is VERY expensive and there are so many deals in eBay it's difficult to know who's reliable and offers fair prices.

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

8.0 this morning (down from high of 13 on Tuesday when I started LCHF). Does warm weather affect BS levels? And, how long should it take for BS to go back to 'normal' levels?

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Good Morning. I had my first low carb day yesterday and BS has gone from 13 to 8.9. Will it continue to drop significantly if I keep low carving?

    Feeling out of it ...

Thank you both - I take metformin - but don't do low carb. I guess this is a wake up call. (If only I could feel fully awake!)

    Feeling out of it ...

I'd appreciate some advice. My fasting blood sugar today was 12.2 and has varied between this and around 8 for the last three weeks. I've begun to feel really tired, listless and quite 'out of it'. Tonight, a lovely and warm one, I had thought about going for a ride on my bike or for a walk...

newly diagnosed with type 2 :(

Hello Rixil - I'm not qualified to answer your T2D questions but I do hope you find the answers you are seeking. I'm a good many years older than you but I'm my youth had a lot of sweets, I guess you have been unlucky to be diagnosed at such a young age. Good luck!

    What to expect?

For the last few months, I've had conflicting blood test results but have finally had a T2D diagnosis confirmed and I have my first diabetic clinic tomorrow. What should I expect? How is my life about to change? Is there anything I should now so differently?

    What does 57 mean?

I had a call from the surgery today with the result of a blood test. It wasn't my GP but they told me my blood sugar was 57. They said my GP would be in touch. I'm guessing it won't be with good news - but I haven't a clue what this means. Any ideas?

    Reached My Goal

Well done! I'm at the start (again!) of my weight loss journey and newly diagnosed with T2D. I'm following LCHF. If you have any hints, tips and advice is welcome it - I've made a good start but sustaining lost weight and carrying on after a setback has never been my strong point.

    Type 2 Calories In Lchf

I've been wondering whether calories need to be controlled on LCHF? Dr Michael Moseley was in a clip the Diet Doctor posted earlier today. It was a bit of the Jeremy Vine Show (from yesterday 27/08/16 I think). JV asked him about calories and MM replied 'We-e-e-e-'ll ...'. The implication I...
