    Med/insulin change needed? - headaches!

Hi, Currently on Humalog 25mix, Metformin, Sitagliptin + various other meds (non diabetes related). For the past 3 years or so, I've been getting severe headaches 1 - 1 and a half hours after eating (regardless of what I eat). Sometimes the pain is so bad (head pounds, neck & shoulder muscles...

More fat in injection site...anyone else?

Hello, I mainly inject in my stomach (not always convenient to inject in thighs at work as I don't want to end up injecting in the toilets). I DO vary the place on my stomach, but I've noticed that over the past few months, my stomach seems more "flabby". No lumps or bumps from injecting. I...

    Totally disheartened :(

Hello all, After being moved onto insulin (Humalog 25) in June, I noticed (at the end of August) that I'd put on about 8lb. Deciding to nip it in the bud, I've been low carbing (50g MAX - most days I come in at 35-45g) & started to excercise more. My non-diabetic friend decided to join me...

    Titrating Insulin....

Hello all, I've been on Humalog 25 mix for about a month now. Still titrating to get the right dose (upping by 2 units every 3-5 days). Just wondering how many units the rest of you (Humalog or not) are currently injecting?

    Driving Licence + Insulin

Hello all, I've just been moved onto Insulin (Humalog 25mix). I have just filled in & sent the DVLA form to advise them I am now treated with Insulin. I AM hypo aware (although I've never had one, I have helped a family member treat theirs). My question is - has anyone had problems with...

Bydureon Once a week injection for T2

I tried Bydureon for about 5 months. Felt sick all the time on it & it didn't really help lower my sugars. Glad it seems to be working for some people though. I'm soon going onto insulin - fingers crossed I won't feel ill all the time with it!.

Humalog 25 - anyone have experience?

Hello all, I'm currently on tablets but am due to be switched to injections as my BS are up & down a lot & my DN thinks switching will level them out into better numbers. Just wondering if anyone has experience of Humalog 25 (the insulin she wants to put me on)? Did you find you stopped...

    Chocolate Rant!

Hi Kat100, Avidlite delivery is VERY fast. They also put a little taster pack of 4/5 sweeties (zero sugar) in the parcel too. I went on today & order Atkins Peanut Butter Cups (just like the Reeses ones) & some fruity chews (zero sugar) that are like Starburst. I'm loving their low-carb pasta...

    Chocolate Rant!

I tend to buy chocolate & low/zero carb stuff from a site called Avidlite. They do low carb pasta which is yummy, carb/sugar free chocolate cake mixes & lots of Atkins stuff. I usually buy in 'bulk' & it lasts for ages. The Atkins bars really take the edge off my chocolate cravings & as they...

    Strange feeling.....

Hi all, I was diagnosed about 3 years ago - am on tablets & a once weekly injection of Bydureon (this was started about 4 months ago). For the past couple of days, I've been feeling odd - Nausea Headaches Feeling like my blood is 'zingy/fizzy' (I can't explain it any better, sorry!). Had the...

    Calf pain getting worse

Hi, Re: your calf pain I wanted to ask if you are taking a statin? I was on Simvastatin & had a similar problem - pain/numbness in calf/legs. If so, it might be worth asking GP to try a different statin? Please note: I DO NOT have any medical training - it's just a thought!

    metformin. can't do it anymore

I had the same problem myself - so upsetting & annoying. Been on slow release for about 2 years & doing MUCH better. Fingers crossed it works for you too - if not, there WILL be an alternative - don't despair & keep your chin up!

Looking older because of diabetes, will this help?

I'm also 38 - often mistaken for mid-20's though. Probably down to good genes BUT I quit smoking, drink plenty of water & moisturise (nothing fancy, Nivea, Olay will do - 'other brands are also available!) & don't cook myself in the Sun. None of us are getting any younger though, so just...

    Replacing Novorapid with Bydureon

Hello all, I am currently on Bydureon (been approx 8 weeks-ish now). My BG is down slightly (according to self testing) BUT I have been advised it can take 3-4 months to see any REAL improvement. I had a blood test 2 weeks after starting & my DN told me that it hadn't given much indication re...
