Sorry I think I might be making something confusing. Like I say I'm purposely eating alot less but it's not really a choice. I believe I'm saying it that way because if I think I'm choosing to eat alot less it makes me feel like I have some control.

I didn't post my weekly Fri weight cause it's 254. Up I believe again.
I think the only reason I lost that 60 pounds recently (since 2022) was because I had mouth surgery that year. I'm slowly regaining it back.
What do I have to do? Have another surgery?
I would have been done a weight loss surgery by now but I cannot be knocked out.

Id like to try to lose 50 pounds by March. So basically in 6 months.
Starting weight of 252. So maybe weigh 200 in March?

I really wanna get off my meds..
But likely not off the BP ones.
As I was very active and a good weight as a teen when I had to start BP meds. But maybe the insulin.
If I can and remember I will come back and post results along the way.

Me and my hubby started the carnivore diet (anything from an animal) on Aug 1st and we have both lost 22lb and we have reversed our diabetes and I no longer have to take BP meds, I have stopped dapagliflozin and my hubby has stopped both of his insulin injections, it turns out that type 2 diabetics already have too much insulin and generally are insulin resistant diabetics also should not eat loads of carbs, I have been learning a lot from insulin resistance specialists like Prof Ben Bikman
Ask yourself, what other illness where you already have too much of something would they then give you more? Think about an alcoholic, it makes no sense at all We are questioning everything now and things are becoming clearer.
Wishing you the best with your weight loss

Hi, if you have the will power, try the Keto or carnivore diet, Keto is low carb and carnivore is no carb, it isn’t easy and best to reduce carbs gradually and increase fat and protein, it seems we have been given the wrong information about diabetes, food and even cholesterol for years, I am quite angry if I’m honest, the issues we have been caused is appalling to say the least. All the best to you

@Susie1961 - the OP has a particular set of circumstances which make it particularly difficult for her to follow advice like yours. You might read a few of her other posts which will give you the detail.

There's nothing wrong with low carb advice - it's what this forum is all about - but you need to be mindful of the ability of people to follow it.

Hi, thank you for your comment, I will do as you suggest thank you, as I don’t know people’s circumstances that is why I mention about will power and it not being easy, I have certainly not found it easy after more than 6 decades of carbs but it doesn’t help people when sugar is in practically everything and we have been lied to about the whole situation, it is we the people that suffer for the gain of the wealthy, it’s extremely sad but true.

Doesn't look like my chosen method is yielding the result I want.
New strategy now.
Take my recommended toujeo dose and only eat if my bs drops.
Today's weight 252. Be back soon with a new weight hopefully.

Toujeo is meant as a background insulin that aims to keep your blood sugar level whether you eat or not, so shouldn't be lowering it @cdpm It's your quick acting insulin like Novorapid that is used for meals and to lower blood glucose levels. I've only posted this, as I'm concerned at the thought of you not eating at all based on only long acting insulin.

Are you using quick acting insulin now?

Yes but I only use it if I eat enuf carbs and as suggested by a nurse when it gets to 12 or more fasting.

I desperately need a break from my digestive issue. I'm very very tired from the water loss and climbing up and down the stairs to the washroom multiple times even just for the one meal. And trying to drink more. Not eating is the only way it doesn't happen. And even that's not a guarantee.
So it's not just for weight loss but I didn't mention it because it's embarrassing.

I did at least get to reduce my toujeo dose with the metformin.
And I'm not sure if there is a post your exercise thread here? Idk how to get around very well.

I have read your complete thread and assume you have to pay for your insulin too. Do you know why you were prescribed insulin as a Type 2 - it is well known to cause weight gain and with your severe calorie restriction your weight should be coming down. You do not mention your Blood Sugar readings at all and I am curious about how these are doing.

I'm on a provincial disability benefits program. My insulin is covered in the drug insurance program. Luckily.
I was put on insulin because my body had bad reactions to all 4 oral medications tried.
No one told me at that time about weight gain. Or I would have refused insulin. And I had no way to find out. ( no internet). I never thought such a thing would be done to a type 2 person. Giving them a weight gaining drug!!! So I never made inquiries. But eventually I was told. By pharmacist, a dr, and a specialist.
I'm not sure how my bs readings are but last I did it it was out of range and most times be4 that. Despite insulin (100 units toujeo and 30 units at a meal of trurapi) and ozempic (2mg) and metformin (2000 mg). My body just won't respond. And it does not respond to cholesterol or BP meds.
I've mostly given up on measuring my bs as the dr is not interested and I get too distressed to be powerless seeing bad numbers.

Sometimes T2's need insulin as well, and not all gain weight on insulin.
High blood glucose in the long term leads to much worse outcomes than being overweight.

Seems like I already got some of the obesity complications except for the hi BP. ( it developed as a thin highly active teen).
Just waiting for the diabetes ones. As none of the meds/insulin help nor weight loss or exercise. I did even try a keto diet when I had the food funds. So I can't really be convinced that anything is an answer or multiple things when my body is unresponsive.

I feel for you but cannot offer any advice other than to seek further medical help and a medication review - and I don't know how your health provision works. Good Luck.

I have an endo. Dr appt in a few weeks. We always go thru the meds at least the BP and bs and cholesterol meds. He just repeats the others. ( the pain pills and polyp med and antidepressant) Unless I say something about them.
A few appts ago he said there's nothing else to do. That he can't do more to help.
So I don't expect much really.
And in my city recently 10,000 ppl lost their dr.
With several walk ins that closed.
I'm not sure what I can do.

Not losing still.
Going to try 1 ND with each insulin dose. See what happens.
I'm not likely to reach my goal on time but I don't have to stop trying anyway to lose what i can!!
