Advice on Newcastle Diet for smaller women

That's the lowest Fbg yet. So it is working but patience is probably the issue (and eating less than 800 Cals )

And my BMI is now normal . Generally an encouraging few days

Fbg 6.2 lowest ever bgl since I started monitoring

Thankyou. Pretty chuffed. Bgls seem to be stabilising in general. Was 6.7 after dinner last night. Think my body may like being normal BMI. I'm definitely going to keep going

And I'm in ketosis woo hoo. Reducing my calorie intake to about 700 has worked

It must feel really good that the work has paid off, and you've stuck to it.
Brilliant result.

Yeah I think my original hypothesis that 800 Cals was too high is proving to be correct. My bgls are now in the 6s most of the time . I actually feel I could carry on with this longer to get my bgls down to 'normal' but I may have to compromise so I can keep my friends. Maybe I will do very low cal during the week and then Lchf at weekends until my holiday - off to Brazil for the Olympics where I think I'll do an Atkins type diet as they are big on meat there. But yes it all feels very doable again after my slump a week ago

6's is a superb improvement, it makes you wonder why everyone doesn't start out with the Newcastle diet.
But Brazil for the olympics sounds good.
I personally take the view that diabetes is part of my life, but not all of it.
Life has to go on, and the fun still has to be there.
So I would enjoy the food, (within reason), and not stress if a little bit of slippage occurs, as I could catch up late.
But don't do it every week.

So not the highest professional opinion but I saw the diabetic nurse assistant today for the first bit of my annual diabetes review. She was really impressed. Lost 10kgs in a year. My blood pressure is normal and she got that the ND works. Next step is the diabetes nurse in about 2 weeks.

She'll be recommending the Newcastle Diet for all her patients if you're lucky. :)

Woohoo 5.5 after a meal. Lowest ever bgl levels and that was after a meal with avocado which have surprisingly high carb levels. Feel like dancing down the main road. I'm almost 'normal ' now

Avocado aren't too bad, only about 3 grams carbs for a whole one according to carbs and cals book. They're a good choice. :)

I had 2=17.3 carbs according to my fitness pal but my body didn't even blink

Fbg 5.7 . So my fbgs are now lower most days than my pre and post meal numbers. I guess that means my liver is getting with the programme but my cells and pancreas are more reluctant

Good idea... I've told Yvonne I'd like an Apple watch as a combined birthday (December) and Christmas...we'll see.

I'll use it all the time with my gym, running, general fitness:)

I have to defend my beloved avocados here. They are low carb as @zand says.

When I use My Fitness Pal, I always double check the information provided with that provided by the food retailer/manufacturer. The MFP information is input by internet users often from the USA where carb values include fiber.

I have just scanned the barcode on a pack of avocados in my kitchen and they are 3.4g each. Also on the retailer's website http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=265299741

Good news :)
