Wow, that's double digit amounts of sugar per meal even using the misleading method of "added sugar" (should take total carbs and divide by 4, for the real sugar amount). It is possible to potentially get the extra years of life, minimal or no complications with great tasting varieties of food, and for me a better chance at health, vitality and less medical intervention in the last say 10 years.Gone through that, the low carb diets, I say what the heck I started on the diet twenty years ago, then went onto the tablets now I am on insulin 44 units in the morning and 44 units at tea, and am averaging 8.00mm, I have my 2 Wetbix , 2 Pieces of toast with marmalade, and a cup of expresso, live your life now trying to gain a couple in later years is foolish
Well AFM seems to be offsetting it with insulin so as long as his levels are managed, he can continue with his weetabix and toast and enjoy his life.Wow, that's double digit amounts of sugar per meal even using the misleading method of "added sugar" (should take total carbs and divide by 4, for the real sugar amount). That's fine for him. In the context of the OP's question it would fulfil the nice tasting aspect, others can decide if these choices would be good for their Type 2.Well AFM seems to be offsetting it with insulin so as long as his levels are managed, he can continue with his weetabix and toast and enjoy his life.
But if as he says his average levels are 8 mmol/l then I don't think he is managing his Type 2 especially well.Well AFM seems to be offsetting it with insulin so as long as his levels are managed, he can continue with his weetabix and toast and enjoy his life.
Just to jog everyone's memory...Guys?

Professor Kealey CURED his own T2D by following the information and advice in his book. I was merely trying to give the member that same option. How is that so reprehensible?Guys?

Sorry, I have no idea what you mean. What are OPs and IDs? On second thoughts, please don't waste time replying, I find these forums far too confusing and difficult to manage to bother with them any more. I shall cancel my membership. GoodbyeHi @Madge 2 ,
Good morning.
Please have a little look through the thread again, paying particular attention to the OP's managment of his condition.
& then focus on the suggestions by IDs..?
You may then wish to re-evaluate the nature of your enquiry on my action..
Regards.

Avocado and bacon ... Mmm. We buy cooked strips in tescos and add them both to salad for lunches too.Hi,
I'm trying this delicious looking concoction tomorrow for breakfast
As a new convert to avacado i'm looking forward to trying it with eggs and bacon. My mouth is watering already!

Avocado and cheese and bacon in a low carb wrap are pretty good as well.As a new convert to avacado i'm looking forward to trying it with eggs and bacon. My mouth is watering already!
I have a ham, cheese or mushroom omelette.
However, the all-diabetes pro cycling team, team Novo Nordisk, have porridge every morning. Their coach won't travel abroad without it.
You can certainly have a casserole, just with low carb veges, or you might like cauliflower cheese - with just cauliflower and cheese and maybe some herbs or spices for extra zing. Using swede rather than potatoes to make mash, and then bubble and squeak seems popular. I cook the swede in a pressure cooker to save time and energy.Well I am now totally freaked out by all this info.
I am allergic to eggs so many " easy " meal options are out for me. I also cannot eat beef which is fine because I don't like it anyway.
My fav food is bread and I have other illnesses besides being T2 for which I take meds that make me nauseous all the time.
I suppose eventually I will find food that I can tolerate which is not carb dense or calorie dense, if I live long enough !
Been waiting for an NHS referral for Low Carb program but it's been two months since referral and still nothing. Can't really afford to join otherwise.
Disabled so limited by that regards exercise and very overweight.
Worried that winter warmers like casserole with dumplings are off the menu this winter.
I haven't tried this one myself . Might be worth a tryWell I am now totally freaked out by all this info.
