Cant get below 9

Could any of you be as kind as to give me a list of things to get with my shopping?
@bulkbiker has covered the savory stuff but if you want some ‘not so sweet’ sweet stuff too, how about sugar free jelly, berries, nuts, high percentage chocolate and Oppo ice cream.

Meat, Fish, Eggs. Cream, butter, cheese.
Green veg if you like that kind of thing.
Pork scratchings for a snack and of course bacon.. food of the gods.

I read Bacon and sausages? is bad for diabetics tho?

aubergine bacon bean sprouts beet greens beetroot in small amounts, green beans or French beans broccoli berries (frozen is easiest) cucumber celery courgette cabbage chicken cheese cauliflower (fresh or frozen) celeriac cream, eggs fish kale lettuce mushrooms, any sort of meat, nuts if low carb, okra, onion, pumpkin rhubarb, spring onions spinach swede sweet peppers radish sorrel tomato turnip
I think I might be a closet vegetarian with a meat fetish.

Also watch out for beans in a ready made chilli. I know some people who are type 2 can eat them, bit they send my blood sugar soaring.

Without being too blunt.... I hope.
Do you have much in the way of carbohydrate reserves on your person? Do you think you need to lose weight?
In four weeks you've done really well, need to tweak your inputs with the suggestions made earlier and see how you go.
Eggs, bacon and sausages rock.

100% HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT, IM IN THE OBEASE SIDE BUT IM TRYING TO PUT THAT RIGHT, COULD THAT BE WHY IM STRUGGLING TO GET THEM DOWN A LITTLE TOO?

All these are rich in potassium:

avocado
sprouts
tomatoes
yogurt
peanuts
spinach
tuna in oil
salmon
macadamia nuts
almonds
mushrooms

Plenty of choice from that lot. There is no need to eat bananas and no need for supplements if you eat plenty of the above. They are about the worst fruit we, as diabetics, can eat. They are instant glucose, which is why athletes eat them during competitions.
As for fruit in general, it is full of fructose (a sugar) and is directed straight to the liver where it gets turned into fat and stored round the liver. The liver regards it as toxic, much like alcohol. The best fruits for us are berries - raspberries and strawberries in small portions accompanied by cream or a full fat yogurt.

Bizzarly Tho it has made my Levels drop to 8.2

If once you have got the hang of low carbing, your numbers will start to fall and your weight will melt away.

If you make a mistake, don't beat yourself up.

It took me around 4 weeks to stop making errors. Once you beat carb addiction, your laughing.

Bacon is your new best friend. It's perfectly fine for diabetics, and this one has it once or twice a day. I never have a baconless day. :) (And yes, my cholesterol is fine, my HbA1C is non-diabetic, and I dropped over 50 pounds. On BACON!!! ;) ) So yeah, bacon, cheese, full fat greek yoghurt, double cream, walnuts, pecans, mayonaise, eggs, avocado, proper butter, meat, fish (just had a lovely salmon dinner myself), cauliflower rice, broccoli, leafy greens/veggies (the non-starchy kind, so no beans!!!). Have some berries, (and I do mean some, not entire bowl-fulls) but no other fruits besides avocado that is.... If you're lacking potassium, a regular supplement from Holland & Barrett's will do perfectly fine without ruining your bloodsugars. But hey, if you don't like popping pills, an avocado has potassium too, and more than a banana does per 100 grams of fruit! What else... Uh... Extra dark chocolate (Lindt 85% is nice!), hummus in moderation... Just do yourself a favour and stay away from bread, pasta, corn, rice, potatoes and other fruits. Once you have given your pancreas a break for a while maybe you can try some of those things again in moderation, when your pancreas struggles a little less to keep up, and there's less sugar stored in your liver... But for now... While your sugars have improved quite a bit, (Yay, you!) there's still much to be gained. Just make sure you ENJOY what you eat. I've found that real food, rather than processed, pre-made meals, are much tastier and more enjoyable. And if you need recipies, just head over to dietdoctor.com. :)

Yup. If you lose weight (and low carb will help with that), your insulin sensitivity is very likely to improve. Production too.

I have never been able to loose weight but with the LCHF I have lost 18KG without a problem. At first it goes against the grain as all we have been told - to eat low fat. This is rubbish! Carbs make you put on weight, while high fat helps you loose it!! The 2 things together and in balance with one another normally help the weight loss and also put the BG number down.

This site helped me an awful lot, putting me on the right track and keeping me there. You have done well so far, so keep with the advice on here and you will loose a lot more in weight and BG numbers.
