Thank you. Just added to my podcasts app and will listen later.
Interesting and wide-ranging interview of Dr Malcolm Kendrick:
Listening now. Excellent talk, in depth but not overly techy.
Gosh darn it. Now we need a drug to enable people to keep taking statins without getting diabetes. I’m sure someone’s working on it as I type
Even the DCUK BOT has found it
Interesting twitter thread
Newest piece by Prof Noakes on many things including our favourites here.
Bookmarked to read later, always a solid base of knowledge from Prof. Noakes.
Not sure if this one has already been posted, it is about plant based sterols in the context of cholesterol lowering foodstuffs.
Thanks for the link, BB. It makes me weep to think about all the miss-information re “good carbs” in the form of healthy grains that has been thrown at us over the last fifty years. How many lives have been affected adversely by this? Grr.
By the way, I like your new avatar! Congrats on getting under the 200lb mark (!j
Vinnie Tortorich interviews Malcom Kendrick;
No refs given but from David Diamond tweet, Pharma finally admitted that up to 20% of statin users will get side effects and some to the point that they can either not even tolerate a lower dose or that they cannot tolerate statin treatment at all. Since the advent of PCSK9s however that number has jumped to 40% of statin users. Be still my nasty suspicious mind.
If I find the references I will edit to add.
Edit. Found the ref but cannot access it.
Just working my way through a new book "Deep Nutrition" by Dr Catherine Shanahan.
Great read especially on seed oils and why they are best avoided. As well as debunking all the usual cholesterol rubbish.
Neuropathy and statins.. a tweet from one of my favourite scientists.
Coulda given away boxes of unopened Crestor meds, but far preferred to burn them.
Not sure if this will work but saw a great facebook exchange between Richard Morris (one of the 2 keto dudes currently studying for a biochemistry degree and Nick Mailer.
I'll try and upload the screenshots of the conversation ( I have both of their permissions)
There was a post somewhere which I can't find. It was how to compare non-fasting cholesterols with fasting cholesterols. There was a calculation. I was meant to fast for my lastest blood test but had to eat during the night to raise my blood sugars.
Nice article from Georgia Ede
Damned interesting BB.
i have only take small note of the posts regarding the effects of statins etc,
and a lot if it is/was above me...
but that post really clarified for me some of the reasoning why Cholesterol can be good and why statins make poor sense.
