Can't begin in here to say how that makes me feel ..so how must people like your wife and their families feel about all this.
Awful situation.
My best wishes to you and your family.
May you all stay safe and well.
I feel that I would be hospitalised, as my HbA1C levels are usually higher than normal, and quite a few of my tests are higher, but hoping what all our family had last November could have been this virus, if that wasnt what we had at the beginning of March, and just before uk lockdown , we just need the antibody testsI imagine that you would be hospitalised only if your coronavirus symptoms warranted it, whether you have diabetes or not.
@jjraak, that article was an interesting read.
It was privately disclosed and confirmed more than a week ago by a number of nurses working in Seattle area hospitals that ventilators will not be provided for those age 65 or older.
This was very hard for me to read.
My husband is in his late 60's.
He's in good health, still working, and has another good 20 to 30 years of living left.
This is why we're so aggressively chasing down protocols on how to avoid hospitalization.
Just to put a bit of a smile in our present life...deny away, bury that head, people, but it's true.
the sooner we face that the sooner we all protect ourselves a little bit better.
We watched the SBS world News here last night and Trump was mumbling something about Covid 19 he went around in circles with his usual pat me on the back platitudes and basically said nothing useful. My partner said "what did he just say", me "I dunno, something about him being right about covid and every one else is a fool I think."I honestly don't know how I'd push through this without the information and support I receive here daily.

He actually says 'If I greet........'presidents, dictators, kings, queens etc', what planet is he on, most of the world is in some sort of lock down
If I shake my head anymore at this person, I'm sure it will will drop off
I think at one point he said.
"Pandemic...pandemic ..no one wants a pandemic".....
I was expecting John cleese to clip clop across the stage behind him ..
There seems to be an applicable Monty python reference for most situationsI think at one point he said.

And back my pendulum swings again.
Although to be fair most UK deaths have been since 20th March so haven't yet appeared in these figures.

What is far more surprising is that the Europe wide figures show lower than usual deaths so far this year
