I may be wrong, but is he saying anything different to @Southport GP and Dr David Cavan, who have been promoting this form of healthy lifestyle for some time?
For me anybody's fruit & veg knock Lidl's & Aldi's into a cocked hat. It's like being timewarped back to Kwiksave.I think Tesco might be good at getting a good deal for Tesco, some of their pricing practices are pretty odd.... I spend a lot of the weekly budget there... it's convenient and very average... imho.
Given that, I think their fruit and veg knocks Lidls and Aldi into a cocked hat.
This usually gets rattled out as well, and we've not been disappointed I see.
It never amazes me how it gets repeated by some.
I really can't understand some people's simple inability to grasp that saturated fats raise cholesterol in others, and simply churn out the classic mantra of 'carbs raise cholesterol, not fats, and if the fats do, then don't worry, it's healthy'
No doubt the link to Kendrick will be up soon.
I don't eat saturated fats, I have low enough LDL, and everything blood result is fine, I don't need to push my cholesterol up artificially, so I'll take my chances without saturated fats.
Until the guru's can recognise that, there is a massive flaw in their teachings.
I can only speak for myself but my 3.3 LDL was due to lavishes of double cream, cheddar cheese, soft full-fat philly, butter and even some sunflower oil for my fried breakfasts. Oh and chicken skins, pork scratchings etc.....
Walking and light exercise is the key!
Prof Ken Sikaris´s presentation is simply brilliant![/QUOTE
Having been living happily this way (Lower Carb with Balancing Fat) for around 2.5 years now, I find the easiest way to quickly find the low carb stuff is too keep to the edges/perimeter - the carbs tend to be (with some exceptions, just because there always are!) in the aisles in the centre of the stores. Have a look next time you go in. Now there are several aisles I simple never visit and and only occasionally.
It works for me.

The term 'High Cholesterol', 'raised Cholesterol' etc gets used in several Contexts , and I think when its discussed different people understand it in different ways. I was in the dark on how LCHF and Lipids could be affected until I saw Prof Ken Sikaris present this topic in Melbourne at the Lowcarbdownunder conference.
I found it extremly helpful in understanding my Bloods whilst following a LCHF lifestyle.
Presentation:Does LCHF Improve Your Blood Tests?
And if you are wondering if this guy has any experience in pathology.
A graduate of the University of Melbourne, Dr Sikaris trained at the Royal Melbourne, Queen Victoria, and Prince Henry's Heidelberg Repatriation Hospitals. He obtained fellowships from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia and the Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists in 1992 and 1997 respectively. Dr Sikaris was Director of Chemical Pathology at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne between 1993 and 1996. A NATA-accredited laboratory assessor, Dr Sikaris specialises in Prostate Specific Antigen, cholesterol and quality assurance and is currently chair of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry Committee on Analytical Quality. His expertise is highly sought and he has presented extensively at national and international symposiums.
I havent seen anyone contradict the science here.
