I have been getting really fed up, not just with diabetes.
I handed my notice in last week after changes at work made it too stressful, so am now jobless.
It is coming up to the 2nd anniversary of my partners death and as a result of her passing and losing a job have had to move back to Bristol. Leaving the few friends I had behind.
I am finding it so wearing trying to eat well, I miss being able to make a sandwich think I might go back to quack and discuss medication.
If it helps, here in the US stress can be a factor to qualify for unemployment compensation even if you initiated the separation. Just a thought...
In the line of commiseration: I am retired and living alone. I used to be quite the creative cook. My recipes have become boring, repetitious, and riddled with errors. Now I cannot seem get beyond junk foods.
One thing that has saved my A1c is making a hobby out of my diabetes testing. (nerd that I am...) I am a programmer and designed a software tool to monitor my readings, suggest dose of insulin, and remind me to read/inject. It seems that my drive to test/improve the software is my drive to take readings and to watch blood sugar levels. In the last two blood tests, 3 months apart, I have maintained readings between 6.3 and 6.5 A1c (140-151). In the last 40 years, I have never has that much success.
I guess my point is that being somewhat successful on the diabetes management tool seemed to help me get through the other issues (over weight, losing mobility, becoming a recluse, Trump, etc).
For me, a single focus that gives me a feeling of success went go a long way. I am not saying that it is easy but it can happen.

Hi!How to daignose daibetes?? And also what type of daibetes you have.
Hello, I want to know that, how does doctor's determine what type of daibetes you have?
Is there a special test that determines between Type 1 and Type 2?
thanks for your reply cowboy jim - I appreciate it and will definitely look into the chart...there is just so much going on right now in my life and it just feels like an uphill struggle every day :?
Just to add, Diabetes Code is now available as an audiobook free on YouTube. Dr. Fung has a fair few fans here on the forum.I am no medical expert by any means and i'm not here to tell anyone how to manage their diabetis, however after 5 days in the hospital with what i thought was a sore throat ended up being DKA and luckily not a single bad thing happened to me despite the high numbers and evrything in my body being out of whack i cme out a different person. I found 2 books dy Dr Jason Fung very enlightning and if you read them they may help you out, one is called the obesity code and the other is called the complete guide to fasting, and although it doesn't sound like it he is a diabetis specialist. you don't have to buy the books, i got mine from the library and I cant say it will help you but pills only will never help you get rid of it. He also has a lot of videos on you tube, just give a listen. I honestly don't know why this isn't more wide spread. Give it a read or a listen and i hope this can help some of you, I for one am trying it out, and i know it won't kill me. Good luck and if it helps, spread the word. I hope someone will benefit from this.
