Based on my readings before and after meals I'm managing my meals ok now, with never more than about a 1.5 rise in BG and I should probably just take the win, it's certainly better than the 10s and 11s post meals I was on when I first came back on the waggon

but I'm aiming for "I don't have diabetes levels" as that was my jam back before I went into burnout.
Greek yoghurt and berries was one of the other suggested breakfasts from the nutritionist I went to, they really do make for a nice breakfast and in summer I can just blitz the berries into the yoghurt from frozen because frozen(ish) yoghurt when it's over 30 or 40°C is so good.
Thanks for the encouragement, I'm trying out rice cakes or ryvita with a bit of home made hummus or light cream cheese / sour yoghurt with chives and garlic dip (also home made) when I'm at home as light snacks, bananas are good for a quick pick me up too, or a little pot of mixed berries / grapes. I started eating a little snack in the morning if I'm feeling odd, I measured my BG when I was feeling weird around mid morning and discovered I was having dips down to 3 sometimes and then after having lunch I'd find I'd still be quite high before dinner (6s or 7s). So I'm now taking a metformin tablet at lunch with a possible snack needed mid afternoon too. I'll figure it out, it's most likely from the new metformin not being slow release.
I'm finding out other weird things this time round, maybe because I'm paying more attention to the other details, like my periods seem to effect my BG level; normally I'm at 5s before meals but I'm always at 6s before meals just before I start my period and often for the first few days I'm on. I know my PCOS is helped by the metformin, but I'm not exactly regular and I've been having noticeably much heavier periods since either Covid or my Covid booster (took the booster and then discovered I already had Covid when I came down with symptoms that were not standard booster side effects within 15 minutes of having the jab, because that's just what you want, Covid and booster side effects at the same time

) which may be part of the reason *shrug* I will go do some looking through the journals later, I'm sure people will have studied diabetes and menstruation in multiple ways.
oh, and the name, it was an old net handle from way back when, lots of people had nicknames about me being mental and eventually I just decided I wasn't worried about that, if anything I was proud that I wasn't like everyone else, so this geeky, autistic, goth, girl was going to take the moniker and make it her own
