Here comes Summer let's stay active.

You've all done very well, as "young" Mr Grace used to say in Are You Being Served?
I've had to cut down on walking very far and the heavier gardening jobs since one knee started hurting and then the other. So I'm on heat packs (damaged back), ice packs and exercises twice a day. Maybe I should change my avatar to Mr Grace.
Take it easy, Mr Grace!

Another 50 mins of aqua fit exercise class this morning. Energised so about to walk the half mile to appointment instead of drive. Probably need to sit down a while before returning.
Activity tracker will be defeated this week!

Please say you won't be running until it is completely healed.

I won't be running until it's completely healed, the guy in the trainer shop said the same thing. He also told me off for running every day:).

Oh and I saved £5, the trainers only cost me £115....yeah:)

Wow! I'm glad I wore my pedometer, total number of steps for this afternoon is 16,900! I shall be eagerly awaiting my weigh in tomorrow :)

Oh dear, what about cycling, swimming or a gentle walk as alternatives?

Yes I'm able to do a brisk walk as it will warm up my tendon, so I'm going to to do that until I can run again:)

And it was good news - I've lost exactly a kilo since my last appointment and my blood pressure was 109/67. Happy bunny time :)

A couple of short walks 10 mins each, then a bit of cleaning was all I could manage today.
Going to walk a bit more tomorrow.

I ache.

Came home from work had dinner - then did the usual walk to make sure we reached our fitbit targets (mine is 7k) then sister picked me up and we went to aqua aerobics .... my arms ache now .....

:) Feeling better for doing stuff though

Hi folks , I have been moving and walking Jobs gone crazy but sorting that out .

I know that ache after aqua aerobics. If you have only started recently, it will soon be a thing of the past. Aqua exercise is addictive. I will go to my third one for this week tomorrow morning.
Today I had a short 10 minute walk in the morning, then another 20 minute walk this evening. I don't cope very well in warm weather. That is why I prefer the swimming pool.
I also went a bit mad this afternoon and did a deep clean of the kitchen, including vacuuming all the dust from the top of the kitchen wall cupboards. Lots of stretching and lifting. It is never ending.

50 minute walk around the country , shattered after staying up til 4 watching EU ref

Went for a nice long walk to Lidl to pick up some more high protein rolls, approximately 90 minutes walking. It's too hot for me today though, I was pooped when I got home!

I outdid myself today - I went over to Rugby because my mum grew up there and she wanted to see how it had changed. She's partially sighted and has arthritis so I said I'd go over there and take some photos for her. I ended up walking rather more than I anticipated - 20,000 steps were recorded on my pedometer! Good job she didn't come with me

Thought I'd bump this thread hope you don't mind.

Have recently got my self a step counting bracelet thingy. And have been managing to do a walk each day. Tough going but a few yards then rest then a few yards and rest can get you surprisingly far if you keep it up long enough.

Have been out on Brierly park trails Teversal trails and silver hills trail every day over the past week. about 2 to 3 thousand steps each day. Weight loss has stalled but I think it's because I am starting to build up a little of the muscle mass I had lost well on my left leg any way right leg not so much as since the op have much reduced blood supply to that leg but progress is progress. A bit at a time will do just fine.

Well done John, I haven't been as active since the warm weather started but I'm still going out every day

I think the important thing with those fitbit type things is to set yourself achievable targets - I don't reach mine every day - but 6 out 7 I do ...

Saying that, I cycled down the prom into town and back again ... 40 mins total in this heat - phew

Did another 2641 steps today wife has bracelet as well now but she being shorter did nearly twice as many steps on the same walk :)

This morning I shall be walking down the beach - apparently there will be an attempt at a record for building the most sandcastles or some such ....
