Hello everyone!
I’m Amanda — 61 years young — and I live near Windsor in the UK with my husband and our cat, Billy, who is scared of his own shadow but very loved all the same.
I’m a big fan of crafting whenever I get the chance… memory books, boxes, bookfolding — anything creative and hands‑on makes me happy.
I was diagnosed at the beginning of January, so everything still feels very new. My HbA1c was 61 when I went to the doctor in December, along with very high blood pressure, so I’m still getting my head around it all.
A few fun bits about me:
- Microsoft or Apple? Not fussed — as long as it works!
- Sports I enjoy: I don’t play any, but I love watching skiing, rugby, tennis and athletics.
- Do I get angry easily? Nope.
- Tattoos or piercings? None — I hate needles!
- Favourite music: Honestly, all sorts.
- Camping? Yes — I was a Girl Guide, and it made for a cheap family holiday too.
- Been in love? Yes, and still am.
- Fake tan? Yep!
- Countries I’ve visited: Canada, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Morocco, Greece and the US.
- Favourite city: Florence.
- Favourite TV programmes right now: Great British Throw Down, Sewing Bee, Traitors, Death in Paradise and Silent Witness.
- Favourite films: The Indiana Jones series and anything period drama.
- Am I wealthy? No.
- Do I work? Yes — I’m a customer service agent in telecommunications.
- Subjects I’ve studied: Far too long ago to remember properly!
