since christmas ive had a pain in my right foot, started after i had a bottle of red wine over xmas, (took me 6 days to drink the bottle though), was hoping that the pain would disappear but doesnt seem to be going, it doesnt hurt all the time, comes and goes and doesnt stop me working,
just wondering if it has anything to do with my tabs as they had been increased a few weeks before,
sugar level is good at the mo, morning its usually around the 6 mark and before i have my tea at half 7 its around 4.7,
any ideas :?:
thanks

Hi Elvis

Do you always test your levels at the same time or do you try testing at other times as well?

One technique that a number of us use is to test before a meal and then 2 hours and 4 hours after as this can show a useful profile of how your levels are responding to meals.

If you have a pain in your foot, I would be going to my doctor about it. It might be nothing but then again, if it is something, it's best to find out sooner rather than later.

If there is damage, it'll be easier to treat if it's caught at an early stage.

Hi Elvis,

It could be gout, especially as it started after the red wine. I had an attack a few months ago. Very painful! Apparently some diabetes medication makes us prone to Gout! A little added extra! Go to your GP and have it checked out.

Football. Bad manners.
My ex-husband had gout. Broad beans and brussels sprouts were his problem - they contain high levels of the cause - is it oxalic acid? something like that.

The gout specialist always said his clinics were full after Christmas - all those sprouts!

Well I've learned something tonight Viv.

I had no idea that excess brussel sprouts contributed to gout.

I just thought they gave you excess gas.
