It depends on if you restrict your carb intake. I personally keep to under 40g/day. These bars are between 11 and 15g carbs each depending on flavour. Too much for me, but it’s up to each person to decide.Hi am type 2 and a fellow type 2 said these skinny whip bars are OK to eat but am not so sure
Hi @Irishmist66 I used to have those bars as they are low calorie. However a little over on the carbs really. But what I have found works best for me is to totally avoid all chocolate bars other than a 'once in a while' square or two of 85 or 90 per cent dark chocolate. I find that once I have that sweet chocolate taste of other bars on my tongue it makes me creep up to eating more. You may be different of course. Strange, but after my three and a half day fast that I broke on Monday I have had absolutely no cravings for anything sweet so it not only was an amazing experience but has taken away any need for sweet things. If you can stick to just one once in a while then go ahead and enjoy! I just couldn't hahaHi am type 2 and a fellow type 2 said these skinny whip bars are OK to eat but am not so sure
Yeah not sure I could be that disciplined. I do go for dark chocolate and often have a square with my cuppa. It's hard know what eat for treat. There is probably the same amount of carbs in a steak with mushrooms, onion and some stirfry - and a lot more nourishment.Hi new to this and tbh I was just told I have type 2 given tablets and told to come back in 3 months for blood test. No advice no diet to follow nothing so I am really lost. I'm afraid to eat anything as I want to be serious about this
This is not atypical, unfortunately, and many of us have been left similarly adrift. But there is a load of information on this site, some very friendly support, and good steering towards managing your diabetes. Have a read around and come back with any queries. No question is silly or irrelevant - if you want to ask, we're happy to help and explain.
