Sporty Forty.e t

Ok so I doubt if I will get any exercise in today...except ironing. I'll be back on Saturday and I hope I'll be walking lots while I'm away.
Have a good break zand. Try not to bring too much ironing back.

1 and 1/2 hrs on the wall of doom - more after supper lugging water round. Brisk walk round town doing jobs and 5 mins on bike so far- hope to get some more of that in later.

Enjoy your break x

Woke up with sore neck. Tempted to turn over and stay in bed, but as bed was so uncomfortable went off for a pool workout. 50 mins of intense aquafit. Then when everyone else got out of the pool I remained swimming gently, and imagining I was in the Carribean. That lasted 20 mins until the pool staff started to get the floats and slides and stuff out and marauding hoards of kids appeared. Time for a sharp exit. Neck still sore too, but at least I gave my heart a good work out, and hopefully worked some calories off.

Cheering myself up drinking green tea with peppermint. I know how to live it up!

You ve been busy. Hope you aren't as sore tonight :)

Wish I could swim

Go on @Jamrox. A new challenge, learn to swim.
You don't need to swim for aquafit though. Stand in shallow end of pool. Much easier to exercise than on land, especially if you need to lose weight (sorry Jamrox, don't think you do). Water helps to avoid impact discomfort you get in some sports, so protects joints.

Surely wall of doom work counts as exercise? Sounds like torture!

I need all the exercise I can get - and it might help burn the anxiety off- What sensible GP practice rings you at 6.50 and leaves a message that you need to speak to your GP about your metformin regime then is closed when you try and ring back! So that's me up early to get on the phone back list for tomorrow.

Sounds like the same sort of surgery that despite knowing I was away for two weeks rang landline on day 2 of holiday and left voicemail to say senior doc was concerned about junior doc findings so needed to see me asap. On phoning (i had picked up remote message) receptionist knew nothing. If I had been anxious type that would have given me something to fret about for 12 days.
GRRRR!

I have been very good the last few days and have either been running or walking up and down hills. :angelic:

@Pipp how did the visit to your health trainer go? Apologies if I've missed you talking about that.
Going back to your request for suggestions for different or new forms of exercise, my husband reminded me that we actually know someone who is a physical trainer who specialises in exercise programs for people with injuries or disabilities. Although she's based around Cardiff I know she travels up and down the country (she's NHS). Anyway, let me know if you would like some input and I can put you in touch.:)

1 minute plank, 40 walk and10 on the rower today. No back twinges, nor during gardening over the weekend.

You know the sad thing is that my daughter is a swimming teacher, she also teachers people to be life guards.

Hi mm weight loss is a funny one. I've lost 2 stone recently , took a while but I got there. BMI is 24.4 but my waist is 36inches. I read yesterday that I need to be 34.5 inches around the waist so I am working on that . Its not easy. I ve always had a belly even when I was young and weighed 9 stone.

For those I've been having a conversation with this is my Mr Bond lol

...hope you manage to get through @cold ethyl .. same system here, phone constantly on redial until you actually get through hoping all the appointments haven't gone..

...lovely long walk last night, nice and cool, then a bit of a blast with the bodyblade and twistboard..

@Jamrox nice start to the day we don't have many of them round this way emerging from the sea unfortunately...o_O

correction....any of them...

@Pollylocks Tuesday must be a quiet day which is just as well as my GP only works Mon, Tues and Friday now. I rang before the surgery officially opened according to their website and got through to receptionist. Half an hour later GP rang. He's a lovely bloke but you do have to prise the information out of him. Wants me to up meds which I'm so so about but certainly wasn't going to do without knowing my last test results. Thankfully he seems to have forgotten about statins and BP meds so metformin is a small ;price to pay. Starting on three for couple of weeks to see how it goes. Apparently it's for my heart not my BS.

Thanks @Bebo321
My appointment with health trainer is not for a few weeks. I have had some excellent advice from my physio though. Extending her exercise programme by using weights, and gradual increments on time spent. Also increasing number of aquafit sessions. The coach there knows my limitations and my abilities, so is encouraging me to work to BORG 13 for most of the 50 min session.
I am quite impressed with the progress I have made since @Jamrox suggested the first challenge way back in March. I know the health trainer will have a job beating the motivation you all provide. I am so grateful.
Thanks guys.

Yes, I am thinking belly fat is the last to go.
