    One glass of Butter milk
    Salad and Papad with soft cheese

    FBG at 0545 (5 hour fast) was 5.2, food yesterday was;

    Breakfast: scrambled eggs and 2 thin slices of Black Forest ham, black tea, 250 mg metformin
    Lunch: Pace salsa (medium) on 10 small corn rounds, black tea
    Dinner: Bowl of Mrs. Campbell's beef vegetable soup, piece of Winnipeg rye bread toasted w/butter, glass of sake, 250 mg metformin
    Snack: Vodka Caeser, 5 corn flour rounds w/salsa, shot of Kraken rum w/diet Pepsi

    Canada Day today, celebrate by doing family things and relaxing.

    FBG at 0530 was 4.9 (5 hours fast), food yesterday;

    Breakfast: honey nut cheerios w/2% milk, 250 mg metformin, black tea
    Lunch: 2 pieces ham on 1 piece rye toast w/butter and hot English mustard, handful of mixed salted nuts, black tea
    Dinner: BBQ chicken, piece of BBQ salmon, Caeser salad, steamed cauliflower and broccoli, black forest cake, cannoli, 250 mg metformin, black tea
    Snack: 3 glasses Kraken rum w/diet Pepsi

    Temp here at 0545 6C and skies are clear, no wind. Had birthday party dinner yesterday, small piece of cake and 1 cannoli, drank more water, FBG was excellent this morning but won't be pushing my luck by eating more desserts. Heading out to pick up daughter #2's old motor home and check it out for its annual debut, getting ready for Mr. Land Rover's pre-engine removal work tomorrow...

    Happy with that,
    Unintended low fat, high carb day. After yesterday's lamb, which I enjoyed enormously, I just felt like low fat stuff today.
    Not sure whether I could do this every day and no intention of trying.
    Back to normal tomorrow.

    Lunch: 2 slices black forest ham on lettuce w/hot English mustard, black tea
    Dinner: BBQ steak, baked potato w/butter & chopped green onion, boiled peas, 250 mg metformin, glass of red wine
    Snack: 3 large tablespoons? of butterscotch ripple ice cream

    Temp here at 0730 was 10C, skies cloudy and continuous rain. The ice cream last night unfortunately kept my FBG numbers high but still under my goal of 6. Heading out of town for a wedding so will not be reporting for a few days...

    I felt slightly wobbly, not a hypo though. I am not on any meds so it can't go much lower than that (though I did have a 3.1 once after a brisk walk home from the pub - booze inhibits release of glucose into the bloodstream).
