He likes to play dirty and get lots of yellow cards, is that a fair assessment? That's what he was like at Bolton. (I know..pot...kettle...Leeds fan)
 
I thought that we looked ok for the first hour, but we couldn't break down the opposition again, llalana was key to our attacking shape, he went off and we really struggled, thought the team did quite well, pity about the subs!
We have really good wide players, but why aren't we getting quality balls in the box?

yes but that placard saying 'arriving after elimination - priceless' was so sad....all that money......so glad my boy chose to go to Brazil and not watch England!

Not surprised by the 0 - 0 result. But can someone tell me about Japan, are they in or out ? thanks ,daughter got Japan in the schools sweep stake.

An Italan footballer was bitten on the shoulder by an Uruguay player, it definitely is a bite:eek:, number 3 Italian, left shoulder. Shocking tactics and should be banned from playing IMHO. Come on FIFA, ban him.

He will probably get banned from the Buffy set too:mad: and the play acting afterwards? my 5 year old granddaughter play acts better than that performance:wideyed:
 
Now that I've had time to think a little, well done the back 4 and the keeper, midfield was a lot better, Sturbridge wasn't fed second half.
Lampard for me showed that we have got a sitting midfielder and set the tempo of the game. Llalana was my most impressive player and Luke Shaw.

We still need to find a system that suits us in the international games especially in the Finals.

We need to have a broader view of players other than those who play for the top premier clubs.

Another hyped up team that failed to deliver!
 
Suarez looks like he could eat an apple through a letterbox. Perhaps the other guy just got his shoulder too close to his gnashers? :wideyed:
 
England played quite well at times, but Costa Rica weren't the opposition they were to Italy and Uruguay. But they fail at the basics too often - keeping possession, passing, penetrating. It's all very well the commentator saying "oh, he nearly slotted that pass through to Sturridge" or whatever - fact is he didn't make the pass. Other teams do.

The first thing England and the press need to do now is to stop believing their own hype and lower their expectations.

Hope he gets a long ban, that was shocking behaviour and totally uncalled for.

Greece 1 - 1 Ivory Coast
 
I am really enjoying the Ivory coast/Greece game and the highlights of the Japan and Columbian game, much better than some others ( no names mentioned)o_O
 
Greeks injury time winner, a pen as well! The other Samaris took it!

Columbia comfortably through against Japan

Colombia v Uruguay.

Lots to chew on there!
